Because you complain about it the most and have admitted how you support the teams. Please point out to me where anyone is excited about the schedule. Understanding the reality of it doesn't mean you support it. I've accepted it because I know the AD and staff tried what they could to get better games. Pretty much every school in the nation plays a handful of games against lower level competition, it is better than nothing. Again, attendance for Crown College was 100 less than against a UNI team that had just beat #1 North Carolina. So I'm not sure exactly what will cause the "excitement level" to go up.

Bids are already submitted. While my understanding is that UND's bid is healthy and should get them a home game, it won't matter if they get paired up against Montana. Zero chance UND outbids them, no one in the FCS would.
-
Serious question: If you don't attend the home games anyway, why does it even matter to you? When's the last game you attended at the Betty and how many have you been to in the last 5 years?
-
Based on what? You have no clue how next season will play out. Quit trying to pretend you do by using non-existent preseason rankings that will be garbage once they do exist. PS - MVSU and Robert Morris. No preseason rankings necessary to know where those teams will stack up.
-
I would but it honestly doesn't make sense and I'm not going to try to decipher what you mean. There was 100 less people at the Crown game on a Friday afternoon then there were at the UNI game. Think about that. Do you want to venture to guess how much money UND would have lost on the UNI game last year due to low attendance if they would have paid them to come to Grand Forks instead of agreeing to a 3 for 1 (and even at that, it was still a favor). I'm guessing they probably came out behind by getting a return game instead of taking 3 paid games because attendance was poor.
-
No, I've explained why he still has a job. Big difference even though you apparently can't figure it out. If you don't get how people not attending games effects a team's scheduling, then you are more clueless than I thought. You are being singled out because you complain the loudest. People have laid out multiple, correct explanations in the last few posts and you gloss right over them.
-
Get a clue instead of cluelessly bitching.

Pretty contradictory and complete garbage. Who cares where teams start the year, it's where they end. Preseason rankings are barely worth the paper they are written on. UND also plays Utah next year but you just seemed to skim right over that.

A lot of women's team can make as much traveling for guarantees as they can playing at home. The same isn't the case for men's teams. You also can't force teams to sign a home and home, especially when they have closer options. There isn't a single person who doesn't wish there wasn't at least another D1 game or two.

40% of the MVFC has a losing record. 38% of the Big Sky has a losing record. Isn't cherry picking stats that benefit your argument fun?

Hindsight, this probably should have been started at the beginning of the season considering how many weekly conference awards UND has won. The 30th anniversary season of the Eddie Robinson Award features 15 finalists for FCS Coach of the Year.

Who are we trying to kid, even when other teams win, it still hasn't mattered. See: Big Sky 4, MVFC 3 for proof.
-
Guessing no. But you can still get almost 3 hours of tailgating in at the Alerus before heading over to the Betty.
-
Quit giving away the secret, it was full enough up there last game.

One was an extension of existing sales taxes specifically to pay for flood control. The other was a new 3/4% sales tax for 50 years that didn't have very much in terms of specifics. I don't argue that they listed things that needed to be paid for but they weren't very specific on the projects, particularly the costs. I would guess they will evaluate why it failed and come back with a more specific measure. As is life, once it is on the books, it is a lot easier to keep it there.

Missed that. Overall message doesn't change.

Exactly what "threats" did he make? He said he wanted a full understanding of athletic department finances and that there could be cuts. I think you're misunderstanding the whole situation. There is no argument that the Summit/MVFC combo would cost less. However that was never an option until recently and regardless of timing, it would have been explored whether they were working on the budget or not. I'm not sure if a Summit/Big Sky affiliate would have previously been explored but it appears that is irrelevant at this point. With it being a cost savings and possibly an option now, it makes that combination more appealing in that area but the athletic department will continue to be fine if they stay in the Big Sky. It is takes an incredibly large leap to get to "they can't afford it".

Golladay wouldn't have been on the team this year if he stayed at UND, he would have graduated last year. He had to redshirt his first year at NIU because of transfer rules, which worked out fine for him since he played as a true freshman at UND. Golladay got looked over big time and had an opportunity to play at a higher level an hour from home instead of 12. This is definitely a situation where I don't fault the kid for making the decision he did, though I really wish we would have go to watch him finish his career at UND. He'll probably get drafted and have a good shot to play on Sundays.
-
UND can afford to be in the Big Sky, however the MVFC may apparently be an option for the first time since UND moved D1 and the timing with all costs being examined, including conference affiliation, makes it even more prevalent. There is a difference. UND will continue operating just fine as is if they remain in the Big Sky, which wouldn't be the case if they "couldn't afford it".
-
Pretty sure their conference champion plays in the Celebration Bowl, however I believe the rest of the conference is technically eligible for an at-large bid.
-
Not so sure it was a student. He definitely wasn't sitting in the student section. Not sure if that makes it better or worse.

For the first round, yes. (Assuming a win Saturday) UND will be one of the top unranked teams, arguably somewhere around 9-12. Sending them to Fargo to face the top seed for a second round game definitely strays away from what a true bracket should look like. Not that it is going to change but yeah, San Diego would be an excellent first round game for UND.

Might want to brush up on what the 1st amendment actually covers. They can force people to remove offensive clothing, ndsu said it themselves.
-
As expected, the narrative seems to be it is somehow UND's fault because they haven't moved on or something like that. While it makes no sense, I guess that somehow some UND fans not being able to let go of the Fighting Sioux logo makes it OK for FargoU fans to continue to show how classy they really are?
