  1. He averaged 24.6, 18.3 rebounds, and 5.7 blocks. He helped them to a 4th place finish in the EDC and a berth in the State Tournament, but he didn't have a very good supporting cast and no bench. They may have gone a little further in the postseason, but their point guard went down for the season in the first game of the EDC tourn.
  2. Very good writeup, as always. It will be interesting to see how Coach Sather does with a full recruiting season this year. He needs to land a stud or two this year and two or three next year to right the ship. I think that he came in too late in the game to have a shot at the Nelson kid from Devils Lake.
  3. I wish him and his family well and hope that he finds a good landing place soon.
  4. Thanks.
  5. Feel badly for anybody that gets canned, especially when they've had some success in the past, but it just seems like our program wasn't progressing over the last 3-4 years. Whoever the new hire is, he/she will have some nice pieces to work with if we can keep them on board. Hope we can get a great up-and-comer, preferably from the Midwest, that can get us back to where we used to be. The cupboard isn't bare, so it won't be a total rebuild; I think that the right coach could have us competing for at least top three in a couple of years.
  6. Are our only three commits so far Shockey, the forward from Aberdeen, and the guard from the Cities?
  7. Overachieve. Especially with the loss of Moody and the fact that he came in relatively late and had little chance to recruit.
  8. Where we would have finished without him also figures in the equation, I would think.
  9. Good post.
  10. Calli Forsburg of Devils Lake left after her freshman year (?) after being one of the leading scorers in the state.
  11. If you have an online subscription to the Herald, it will get you in to the InForum livestreaming of the hockey tourney.
  12. Don't know how much they're going to have left for Davies today after going 4OT yesterday, especially since they only skate two lines. They took Davies to a shootout a couple of weeks ago when they were playing fresh.
  13. I think that Sather has done an excellent job regardless of how we do this week. He's squeezed about everything that he could have out of what he inherited. As has been mentioned, the availability of Moody would have probably meant at least a couple of more wins and the development of Stewart and Walter under Sather and his staff has been impressive. Going forward, to state the obvious, it will all depend on whether he can land the recruits that it will take to build a perennial contender. It'll take some time to develop the recruiting relationships, but I think that he'll get it done.
  14. Thanks.
  15. Marlon is a totally different player this year. Hats off to Coach Sather and the other coaches for the development of Marlon that has taken place this season. Last season I felt that he sometimes tried to do too much, at times played out of control, and there sometimes was an attitude. This year he has become a heady, unselfish, under control point guard that knows when to get his teammates involved and when he needs to do "his thing." And "his thing" has become pretty impressive. I really enjoy watching him play and he's going to be sorely missed next season.
  16. You're right, except that he wanted to hang around and help finish off the Bizuns first.
  17. Thanks.
  18. And that would be who?
  19. Does anyone know if any of the EDC tourney games will be livestreamed?
  20. With Moody out for the entire conference season thus far and Rebracca out tonight, I think being 5-5 at this point in the conference season is all that could have been expected and gives them an outside shot at a top 4 or 5 finish.
  21. UND stole one tonight.
