  1. You will need to yell at the coaches to sit down now and then. You will be able to get into the ears of Lucy and Kisshole, Vermin, and others. It will be interesting to see who has that bench if the Friday games go according to seed. Watching the bench action can be fascinating. You will watch stretches of the game on the big screen. All in all, a great seat.
  2. The Official WCHA Letter of Apology. Please Accept Our Boneheaded Mistake
  3. Damn straight Sic. And the lads putting on the jerseys on Friday are smart, because, among other things, they saw clear to attend the University of North Dakota and they are coached by the best damned staff in all of college hockey, bar none. One change and shift at a time.
  4. Shame shame shame. Shame on you. You shoulda had 'em bought back in October. Unless you are a Michigan or a Holy Cross fan. If a Cross fan, I might be able to lend a hand. Also, check out The Ralph web site ticket exchange as my learned colleague Triouxper suggests.
  5. A really good point BS. I was wondering what the NCAA might try order on this front, but I suspect that it is a non-issue now with the Sioux in play, and with BS's point well made. Had the Sioux stumbled and fell -- never a possibility in my mind -- maybe this would be dabatable.
  6. We'll be there Sioux99. We are chomping at the bit as well. Should be a bit milder weather wise this time around, eh? Give The Source, of course, a big slap for me, and remind him that it will be an old time hockey weekend. No vodka. Just hockey.
  7. C'mon Sagard. There you go again. Overlooking another game, and another opponent. You are smarter than that, and know that in playoff hockey, anything can, and often does, happen.
  8. Make sure that the Stars and Stripes are higher on the pole than da "M" flag is there WPoS. The old Ralph lot is essentially the same as the Memorial lot as I recall. Go to the old Ralph, you cannot miss the lot. Right behind the football stadium as you come off of the Columbia Road overpass. Better bring a white flag to be waving in the arena come around the mid third period of the game as well. Friday night game, that is. Look forward to seeing you around the arenas, WPoS, and thanks for giving me a shout at the X.
  9. Right. It is your son's Vader costume. Do you really take us for such fools?
  10. Crookston Area Hotels 25 miles to the East, right on Hwy 2, same address as The Ralph.
  11. Someone claims that the big Aerosmith concert at The Al that weekend is taking up a big bite of hotel rooms.
  12. That Sponge Bob was a disgrace. All he had was a costume, and one stained with gravy and red sauce at that. Thanks to Mafia Man for the set up on the setting. Good to meet all of you fine folks. See you around The Ralph and the arenas.
  13. I'd let you stay at my folks' place but we are busting at the seams with family. Crookston is only 25 miles east, and will have some nice hotels. An easy drive, but keep it between the lines and on the limit, with all headlights and tail lights fully operational. Maybe some in EGF as well, but I doubt it. There used to be a hotel out in Emerado, near the air base as I recall. Hillsboro. Last ditch, Fargo. Better yet, Erskine. Only an hour drive.
  14. Someone with a far greater memory and hockey smarts than me has probably said it here before, but here is my three cents. 1. We ain't in any position to overlook this one. Gotta score first, and hopefully score often. There is some history, and some payback to be made. 2. Michigan is a storied program. Red is a legendary coach. They certainly have ability, and talent, CCHA schedule be damned. They will be ready. Of course, Hak, Brad, and Eades will have the Sioux ready to go as well, no doubt about that. We also have a storied program, and a legendary staff. 3. Sioux fans better be ready to cheer early and often. Blow the doors off of that fancy barn on Friday night. Let the winner of the Holy Cross/tUMTC, if they are in the buildings, feel that place shake. It's gonna be a great night of hockey on Friday night, and with a little goodness, grace, and luck, an even better night of hockey on Saturday. I was telling everyone back after the Lefty to buy your West Regionals then. I hope that everyone is well on board, and reasonably well situated. I suspect that the place has, by now, sold out or will soon sell out. Tickets through the UND allotment are probably available. Git 'em. Be there, or be square.
  15. A bit late for this bump, but it is probably a deserving bump. We were at the Badger game. Big big Sioux moxy was shown by coming back from being down on the Badgers and Elliott 2-0. This is the time of year when you want your team winning, and brimming with confidence, not struggling and second guessing. The Don can say all he wants about that theory. Anyway, my daughter and her friend, have been Kaip's biggest fans from the day he first showed heart in his early shifts as a freshman. They hung in there through his injury. Would always track him down and chew the fat with him. He was, and is, very gracious. So, she observes, that Kaip, wearing the green #17 on St. Patty's Day, with an Irish name (not sure about that), pops his first two collegiate goals, and what big goals they were. Wearing the green #17 on St. Patrick's Day. We all knew before the puck dropped that he was gonna score. He damn near had the hat. Kaip and his linemates are getting better and better all the time.
  16. Uh, good recap AZSIOUX, but do not mislead us please. The game is on the 24th. Don't make me have to take off any more work time that I am already. Should be a great time in the Old Town. Michigan will be damned tough, as all games will be for everyone from here on in. Hopefully, the home crowd will dial it up about five levels from the sometimes ho-hum regular season siestas. At least many of the people who go to see and to be seen will, hopefully, not be taking up any empty chairs. This team is special. I said so back before the Lefty, and it is becoming more and more obvious. Four more. College hockey. The greatest game on earth. Congrats to the Sioux on the Broadmoor Trophy. That sure was fun.
  17. I think that, among other things, Motzko reached deep into the old bag of knowledge on Don's tendencies and schemes, and really threw the Gophers off of their game early. St. Cloud was the hungrier team. I really wanted to see the Sioux drill the Gophers twice over the next eight days, but I guess I will have to settle for a single drilling. Both games today should be wildly entertaining.
  18. It is probably time to brush off a "Season Over" chant of some sort. If St. Cloud should win, and it is certainly possible, that will probably push CC off of the bubble and to the lawn mowers and weed wackers over at the Broodmoor CC.
  19. Where is the link there Mr. more hair on your head than mine?
  20. Wow. Damstrait Dagies. I wonder too. Today was way too much fun. Sporting a YaneA sign in the afternoon game with my buddy and girls in the lower bowl, watching the Sioux dominate Wisconsin after going down two early, and hearing that sweet sound of silence walking out of the X after a great game tonight. Minny-Wisconsin tomorrow. Winner goes to Green Bay. Sioux-St. Cloud tomorrow night. I really would have loved to see the Sioux drill the Gophers twice over the next eight days, but now we will only be able to drill them once between now and April 9. Unless the Gophers lose before we get to them on The March through March. I thought the Gopher guys behind us tonight were going to stroke out. Instead, I guess that they were lucky and only struck out. Sioux hockey. This team is might special.
  21. Dagies you stud!!! How about the white sauce? You got the recipe for that stuff? See you around the arena. I'll be with girls in YaneA hats, and with a recent convert to the tradition and slendor and glory of Fighting Sioux hockey.
  22. Probably wearing the Green today given the day. Saving the black for tomorrow night. Gophers fear the Sioux black jerseys. We'll be donning them at the West as well, most likely anyway.
  23. They not only gave up, they let the guy out!!! He's running around loose I tell you. He's running around loose. Loose cannon, running around loose. Look for him at The West. Where the Sioux will be whipping the so-called best.
  24. Tim Skarperud? He would be a great hire. They hire NFL coaches at 30, why not someone like Tim, or any number of other guys of his cut who might be interested in the job? Bollinger was a solid guy and a class act from everything that I ever saw and heard. BSU must be thrilled to have him. Good luck to him.
  25. Cool. Thanks for the history lessons there Farce and Sprig. The story of how Wisco scored shorthanded is really something. Playoff hockey. The wide swings of emotion. The finality of a loss. I suspect that the Sioux must have figured that they would be back on the ice soon after that loss, and must have felt incredibly jobbed by the Committee. The Duluth and Michigan State ADs!? At least the Gophers choked, and the Badgers earned it. I do know that many people recall that horde of Badger funs to be largely good and fun people at the Winter Sports Building back in the spring of '83, although maybe the addition was likely on by then and the building renamed the REA?
