Regardless of who wins tomorrow afternoon, I will not mind seeing the Huskies sent packing tomorrow night. It will set up a great final with either the Sioux or the Badgers playing the Gophers in their back yard. Of course, a third place game between the Sioux and the Gophers would be really fun as well. Sioux are knawing on raw bones. Gophers are crying about where they will be playing. Here's saying that the Sioux drill the Gophers twice over the course of the next eight days.

Pretty boring play-in game. Ziggy struggled. Season over, Dogs. Too bad. I would have preferred seeing them take it to the Gophers, although a sea of brown and yellow tomorrow night might have caused me to cause myself some kind of self-inflicted wound. Goephert is still dangerous, and could make the sound of about 12,000 sphincters slamming shut tomorrow night. I stood around the designated meeting spot between second and third periods hoping to get some autographs from some SiouxSports.com stars. Only guys there were three fine Sioux fans who admitted to hearing about and sometimes lurking on SiouxSports.com, but they would not tell me who they were. I offered some autographs, which were rejected. Great seeing YaneA before the game. She had the center ice choice seats compliments of some local Gopher as I recall. Tomorrow will be alot of fun. Everybody, drive safely, enjoy downtown St. Paul if you do not otherwise live here, and enjoy the next four games. They will be as good, if not better, than any National Championship series, albeit for far less stakes. Thank God for Mancini's. For you out of town folk, its a mile or so down 7th, going west away from the arena. You will not regret the food or the drink, or the bands or the dance. Under the jerseys. Tomorrow. I will be signing copies of "I AM, NORTH DAKOTA HOCKEY."

Pioneer Press Comments About WCHA Final Five
NorthDakotaHockey replied to MafiaMan's topic in Men's Hockey
I don't recall much on my history here, but were the Sioux jobbed pretty hard the year that they were hosting the Frozen Four, back in around '84, back before they called it the Frozen Four? Wisconsin won the title as I recall. I also recall some wailing about the Sioux not getting selected for the tournament. Did they have good cause to wail, or were they truly on the outside of da bubble. -
I am pretty sure that I used to have a pink stick but these days it is pretty much green.

Pioneer Press Comments About WCHA Final Five
NorthDakotaHockey replied to MafiaMan's topic in Men's Hockey
Bruce Brothers. He has always spent more time combing his hair and looking at himself in the mirror than he has checking his facts, or being correct on his information. He is too busy sweating bullets over having to drive to GF, instead of getting to fly to Albany. -
Pre-Final Five SiouxSports.com Get-Together
NorthDakotaHockey replied to MafiaMan's topic in Men's Hockey
Yes. To answer your question. Quite a few people probably know. As additional information, I think that the FSN is televising all five Final Five games live. You will need cable, or a satellite dish, or a friend with either. Or an establishment that serves beverages. Hope you get to watch it. Should be a might entertaining tilt. -

Color that avatar brown and yellow and you will have a pretty good replica of a Gopher fan crying to the referees whenever their so-called golden boys are brushed up against on the ice by an opposing jersey. -
WEATHER ALERT For The WCHA FINAL FIVE
NorthDakotaHockey replied to farce poobah's topic in Men's Hockey
Sorry Herf. Cavedurtis is probably right on this one, but the 94W traffic will be miserable as well. There are a countless number of morons in the Twin Cities, and many of them will be driving their cars on the freeways at 5 pm Friday. -
WEATHER ALERT For The WCHA FINAL FIVE
NorthDakotaHockey replied to farce poobah's topic in Men's Hockey
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Herf but I would say no. You will be fighting rush hour traffic out of downtown. Position a parking spot headed to I-35E. Go North. Take that to I-694 west. The Northland Inn is a stretch away, and there will be some traffic with which to deal. Your momma will be proud to see you show up late, in a jersey instead of a tie, and with knowledge that you will always love her regardless of banquets and awards. If you leave by 5, by the time that you walk to your car, get on the road, and get to the Northland, I suspect that it could well be closer to 6:30 at the earliest. Other opinions may vary. -
I was at The John for the West last year as well. There were countless empty seats. No doubt about it. Gotta love that revisionist history. A few years back, when the Sioux lost a painful one to Ferris State in the West at The John, I tried to move some extra tickets for the championship game. Figured no problem. Great spring day. Last time the angels were gonna be playing at home. The Gopher faithful would be out in droves. I couldn't give those tickets away. Everyone was home watching their boys on the FSN. It's a joke for this poster to claim that The John has been packed for playoff hockey.

I wonder if they'd let a guy into the building wearing scuba gear and a Badger cap?

Pre-Final Five SiouxSports.com Get-Together
NorthDakotaHockey replied to MafiaMan's topic in Men's Hockey
I am pretty sure that I will be able to make Da Hogg on Saturday there Mafia Man, if you promise to not make me throw any more darts. At the dart board anyway. -
I suspect that Stafford could gut it out and go this weekend, but why not take a weekend off, as much as he would rather play? Here's saying that Stafford will be in streets at The X, but in the green or black #18 come March 24 at The Ralph, again on the 25th, and again at The Bradley. Wearing the colors at home in the West. That'll be a bit of a different twist, and a really solid omen given the way that this season has played out so far.

Glad to see that all of the faithful from the Sioux Nation are in off the ledges where several, if not many, were perched earlier this year and after Friday night. There was never a doubt in our minds, since the day the season schedule was released, with the roster of talent in hand, that this team would be on the ice hosting the West Regional. The Lefty seems like it was just yesterday. The Final Five appearance is, of course, an added and expected bonus. That tournament will be better than most of the regionals. I have said it all year long, but now I am saying it one last time. If you do not have your tickets to The Ralph for the West, you had better buy them now or be left on the outside looking in. Same holds true for the X this coming weekend. College hockey in March. It's the greatest show in all of sport. Congratulations to the Sioux for a really really solid and successful regular season. The best thing about that is, the season has only just begun. Be there. Or be square.

There will be plenty of tickets on the street for at least several, if not many, of the games. I may have anywhere between one and three tickets available to most games if anyone is interested. They are upper deck, behind the goal. Three rows off the railing I believe. Great high level seats. Anyone interested can pm me.

No luck Smoggy. I had long planned a trip to rainy and cold AZ to play golf with my brothers, and our mommy and daddy. My kids are bummed. They will stay home at watch the games on the psb-Network. We will catch at least one game at that Sioux bar in Mesa. We will be at the X, and at the West. Still looking for Frozen Four tickets. Sioux will kick some Mavelous arse at The Ralph.
-
The NCAA wanted $600 for four tickets. I lost, and they returned it to me. Ticket packages are $150 face. Let me know if I can get any anywhere for that price. Of course, wait a few weeks and Gopher fans will be dumping theirs in droves, rather than bear the shame of sitting at the Bradley amongst Sioux and Badger fans.

How does Jordan Parise compare to other great Sioux goalies?
NorthDakotaHockey replied to Sioux18's topic in Men's Hockey
Depending on the length of this year's run, and Jordan's contribution to it, and if I were still a betting man, and I thank God daily that I am not, I would say that Jordan will be gone come June. His stock will never be higher, and his handlers will strike the best deal that they can on the free agent market. I hope that this is not true, but even if it is, we will be in very capable hands with Lammy and the Walski. -
This news is a huge bummer. Especially for Eric and his family. As he proved down the stretch last year, he is the epitome of a playoff hockey player. As deep as the Sioux are, his experience and heart will be impossible to replace. This said, the Sioux will still be top shelf on their run to #8.
-
This is a really good point. The local fan base should be snapping these tickets up in droves now. First, the Sioux will be playing. Second, the tickets are actually damned reasonable in price. Third, it will be great hockey, regardless of who is in the field. Solid fan support can only send a positive message to the NCAA. Finally, let fans from the other participating schools twist in the wind, and be forced to rely largely on their team "allotment" from the NCAA. Gopher fans are a bit handcuffed right now, at least those without any foresight or gonads. They oughta be buying West tickets, but they nervously fret and claim that justice should prevail and that they should be sent elsewhere. So, now is a great time to buy. Come March 19, these tickets may well be much more difficult, if not impossible, to buy.

Rats. I was hoping for a Warroad return to the state tournament. Must've been one hell of a game. Four OTs. An instant classic. Warroad's road this year, after their loss of talent last year, is a continuing testament to its program, and to its staff.

Mpls to Grand Forks --March 3
NorthDakotaHockey replied to NorthDakotaHockey's topic in Men's Hockey
Thanks to all for your comments, and especially to RochSioux for stepping up to the plate. A young man from the Far West will be united in Grand Forks with his Pa and his brother to enjoy the greatest game on earth . . . . . Sioux Hockey. Sorry we won't be in the arena. We'll settle for next best. Satellite FSSN, compliments of Psb. -
Sorry for posting this here but not sure where else to go with it. I have need to get a ride for someone to Grand Forks on Friday. Anyone going from the Cities? The passenger is a solid, reliable kid of high school age coming in from out of town. I can get him at the airport and deliver him to your take-off point. He hopes to hook up with his Pa in Grand Forks for the series. If you are making the trip, and have an extra seat, please e-mail me at fortparker911@msn.com, pm me here, or call me at 612.201.3239. I will get back to you asap, but will be on the road and in the air most of today. Thanks. NDH.

10-4. I was a stretch away from the play as it was in the far corner, across from the bench. I'll accept the facts most any day.

I have only read the past few posts as I often do not go back to read through threads with much detail. However, this much I either know or believe to be true . . . . 1. I have had the pleasure of meeting The Triouxper and he is about as knowledgeable of a hockey fan as I have ever met. When he speaks, many people listen. He spoke highly of Oshie before most of us had nary of clue of who Oshie was. 2. I have no problem with anyone dishing criticism of Kisshole. From the games during recruiting, to the press conference, to his classless statements in dishing the Badgers when there was no reason or need to do so, to the cup on the ear at The Kohl, to his always looking for the puck rather than passing the puck, he deserves every bit of flack he is given. Is he good? Sure. Is he a cancer? That remains to be seen. Does he play with the heart and desire of Oshie, every shift? No way. 3. Oshie is special. He hits as hard as he takes a hit. He goes hard to the net. He will scrum to protect his teammates. He does magical things with the puck. His heart is the size of Kessel's head. 4. ROY? Toews. Oshie. Kessel. In that order. You read it hear first.
