UND can't keep trying to kill 5 on 3 PP's. Until they learn to stay out of the box, getting beaten like a drum will continue.

DataFlix's webpage doesn't list the Maine series as being a part of their season package. Anybody know if this is a mistake or do they actually not intend on showing this great series?
-
Here I thought losing Zach and Bo would cripple the team. Insert Zajac and never look back. We have quite a program.
-
I looked at the schedule and it doesn't appear that DataFlix is offering the Maine series. That's a bummer.

Just got the following message emailed to me. This is a step in the right direction on the customer service front. >>>>> Dear Fighting Sioux Webcast Subscriber: We had some technical difficulties for 5 minutes but the webcast is back up and running. All you have to do is press play on your Windows Media Player. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you, Ralph Engelstad Arena Webcast Team

Count me in!! DataFlix offers a pretty cool service, but I experienced a few problems last season like this as well. I found out one thing about DataFlix... Their customer service sucks badly. I contacted them several times last season and was told I would receive "credit" for a handful of games that were FUBAR. That never occurred.

My audio isn't good either. The video was running fine up until the latest penalty ton the Sioux. Now it is buffering like mad.

Well, I just ordered it up. It's better than nothing and pretty reasonable considering how many games I get. D-1 hockey coverage is horrible here. They don't even show the Badger games live in my area. They are on tape delay after the local news!
-
Anybody know if DataFlix has improved their product from last season? I had it last year and it was hit and miss for the most part as far as quality is concerned. I am thinking of buying it again because my options are quite limited living in Wisconsin.

Absolutely! Any team in the tourney can win it... The Sioux had 3 times more talent than DU had and we saw who won it all. Puck luck....
-
Know whats cool? The WCHA's fourth best team wins the title by beating yet another "Eastern Powerhouse" college hockey team. HAHA. Good job DU. Unbelievable.

Parise wasn't a good player, he was a fantastic player. Where do you come up with the idea that he was afraid to take a hit? He was the most mauled player in college hockey and never skipped a beat. That being said, Junior deserved the award. Congrats to him...

Hey YaneA - Yep... I got it a week ago or so. My email has been FUBAR as of late. I think I have it in order now though.... Give it a shot.

There is a thread on DevilsRULE.com that has lists a story from the NY Post about the Devils. The following is the last paragraph of the story. If this is true, can ZPar return to college after signing a pro contract if he never played? I don't want to get ahead of myself here because I am very skeptical by nature. Anybody else heard this? * In a surprising declaration, GM Lou Lamoriello yesterday told The Post he has decided against using Zach Parise during the playoffs, catastrophic injury lists excepted. Lamoriello indicated Parise is in New Jersey solely to gain a sense of pro life and the Devil way, and will return to the University of North Dakota shortly to ensure his school responsibilities are fulfilled.

In my selfish little world of Sioux hockey, it's going to piss me off if the Devils signed Zach and don't play him. However, a player of his skill level is one hell of an insurance policy for them as they enter the playoffs.

Most of you guys are more than likely Minnesota Viking fans.... So, you're used to jokes, comedy acts, etc.

Taken from INCH: Hobey Hat Trick The Hobey Baker Award Selection Committee has announced that Brown goaltender Yann Danis, Minnesota-Duluth forward Junior Lessard and North Dakota forward Zach Parise are the three finalists for this year's Hobey Baker Memorial Award. The 2004 Hobey Baker Award winner will be honored April 9 at Faneuil Hall in Boston. Check back with INCH later today for more on the three finalists. My guess is that Junior Lessard will take home the prize.

I'm sure that Zach got Blais' blessings and approval. Furthermore, Zpar's father knows the business inside and out. Dad wouldn't let junior go to the NHL unless he was ready for the big show. I'm a new Devils fan!

On fighting - Attempting to make the argument that fighting in the NFL somehow controls cheap shots in the game is stupid. It exists in the NHL only because the league allows it to happen. The NFL is a perfect example. Do you think there aren't cheap shots in the NFL? Please! Fighting rarely occurs in the NFL because the league puts the clamps down on it. Fighting in the NHL is anything but necessary. I won't lie to you and tell you that I don't enjoy a good fight because I do. But to try and justify it by stating it's a necessary evil is laughable.
-
I think once players such as ZPar are drafted, they are pretty much at the mercy of the NHL team. ZPar is going pro because the Devils wanted him now. Only a fool would turn millions of dollars down to stay in college. Let's face it... Division 1 NCAA sports is nothing more than an opportunity to showcase your skills to the professional ranks. The goal is to make it to the pros, period. We were blessed to have this kid at UND at all. If he can take the abuse in the NHL, he could be a superstar.
-
While I can appreciate hearing the other side of the argument, the above statement(s) are not accurate. The Sioux will be solid next year with or without Parise. But to think that we would somehow be better off without him is silly. The kid is on a completely different level talent wise and is the hardest working guy on the ice. The Sioux can survive if he leaves, but it would sure be nice to see him stick around another year.

Way to go Dogz!! Keep it in the WCHA.... two games left boys!

The Gophers have basketball and football teams??
