I may end up doing that as well at some point. The only downfall would be that I wouldn't have cable internet. I'm a big fan of that.

You know, with the amount of money I pay for cable these days you would think I'd be able to watch whatever the hell I wanted. The only way I get to see the Sioux is if they are playing the Badgers on TV. That, or when I get back to GF and scarf some tickets from my brother in law. I paid Dataflix the past few seasons to watch the Sioux on-line but decided against it this year. I couldn't figure out which part of Dataflix sucked more.... their product or their customer service.

We have all grown to love the Fighting Sioux name. I was dead set against changing the name in the beginning out of principle alone. But ya know what? Screw it. It's just a name. If people want to make issue with it as being abusive and hostile, so be it. And just to make things completely fair and impartial, I'd stop going out of my way with funding and special programs for specific races while excluding others. If there is such a program as INMED, I want to see BLACKMED, WHITEMED, HISPANICMED and ASIANMED as well. I'm quite certain EVERY race has hardships of equal value. It works both ways. If one race doesn't want to be singled out, they should get their wish..... across the board. Here come your University of North Dakota Tornados......

dump the name. dump the special programs. move forward. continue to teach students irregardless of race, creed, religion, etc.. no special considerations... just simple merit-based education. why not? ___________________________________________________________________ I could live with that. No more special programs like Inmed that single out certain races for benefits while ignoring others in need with a different skin color. All programs should be based on individual qualifications, not ethnicity. I'm white and I am supposed to have all of these wonderful benefits because of it. I'm still waiting for the silver-spoon to show up in the mail. Sure, I have my college degree. But I earned that through my military service coupled with an ass-load of student loans that I am still paying off. Nothing was given to me..... then again, I didn't expect it either. As for your proposition to the "Fighting Chippewa," what about it? Continuing.... where do the offensive names end? Should white people be offended by the Minnesota Vikings, who glorify caucasion warriors of years past? How about the Trojans, Bucs and Spartans? Team names like the Cyclones, Hurricanes, Storm and Wave should be immediately put to rest in the wake of Katrina. Talk about insensitivity!!! Humane Societies should peition the NCAA to ban all offensive names towards domesticated animals, starting with the Bulldogs of Georgia. Don't get me started on wildlife! The thought of a Bald Eagle, an endangered species and our national bird, used as some sort of a glorified symbol standing on sidelines across America, is traumatic.

I am tired of the double standards of society concerning race. Why is everybody so concerned with the Native American names when they see nothing wrong with the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame? I guess white people can't be offended. Excuse me while I go puke.

I read that the Devils sent 24 players down today and now have 33 players on their current roster. Zach is on the roster still. Anybody know how many players NHL teams carry during the season?

What's the latest on Zach in New Jersey? Is he going to make the roster this season or play again with the River Rats?
