I loved Shakeys and Toppers. I don't understand how Toppers could have failed. I thought it was the best burger joint in town.

So if St. Clair is truly in jeopardy of perhaps playing this year do the sioux or can the sioux bring in another forward?

I am so PO'd that St. Cloud will be joining the NCHC. They bring absolutely NOTHING to the league and those who think its a good idea are St. Cloud fans.

Perhaps an email to our AD Brian Faison letting him know our feelings of having SCSU join the NCHC. brian.faison@athletics.und.edu. I believe this to be a very poor decision to bring St. Cloud into the NCHC and could seriously jeopardize the integrity of the NCHC. Really to bad if true and almost gives you buyers remorse.

I have to admit this whole NCHC is looking less attractive if the likes of St. Cloud join it. I just don't understand the thinking in this one. Let's hope it's not true. I wonder if there is some petition we could sign to nt allow St Cloud into the NCHC. If they are they will immediately poison the well.

In my own personal opinion it would be a big mistake to accept St. Cloud into the NCHC. However if for some reason they are allowed in it would be by the lobbying of former Sioux coach Gino G. But according to the St. Cloud State President they would not accept the offer.

Lets hope this turns out to be true. After UMD winning it all last year anything is possible.

Its about time the NCAA heard from our Native American friends. Seems like they were left out of the disucssions in Indianapolis.

Growing up in Grand Forks how could you not be a sioux fan. My mother has worked out at UND for 45 years and needless to say she was able to get me and my little brother into most of the mens hockey games when we were little. Most of her student workers worked at the game so they would always let us in, of course this was at the old arena but it was lots of fun. My brother actually got to be a stick boy for the team for a couple years. They used to pay him in six packs of pop and hockey sticks. The hockey sticks were the old christian bros wood sticks. They have the name of the player stamped on the handle. Lets just say we have some Bob Joyce, Tony Hrkac, Ian Kidd, Brian Williams wood sticks that currently reside in our Sioux room. Lots of memories of the sioux playing in the old building. I remember it was almost like clock work when the Gophers or Badgers came to town that a dead gopher or badger would go sliding across the ice. I must say compared to back then the atmosphere is much toned down for that kind of stuff. Even if the nickname is retired we will always be home of the Fighting Sioux.

Bison fan I am going to inform you though there is only one Flagship institution in ND and it is UND.

Heck I would rather have Bemidji State than St cloud. BSU has a new arena and I believe committed to hockey. I know the St Cloud fans will say but or National Concrete Center is going through some upgrades. They only reason they are even still in the conversation is due to Gino G.

I agree but Hyslop is full of asbestos and from the last I heard it would be cheaper to tear it down and build new then have to clean up the asbestos and renovate.

+1 for you my friend. I could not agree more. They may be king in Football but they aren't in Hockey and if they are going to "sit on the pot" then tell them to bad.

I agree with this assessment. When it comes to the Vikes all logic gets thrown out the window. This team will surprise a few of the better teams in the league.

As long as we beat the Fudge Packers our season will be a success.

One give away from the meeting is that our ND delegation was rather weak in confronting the NCAA. I understand the deck was stacked against them to begin with but to go to the NCAA headquarters and spend one hour basically listening to the NCAA dictate to us is really shameful. I should state that I don't know what happened during that one hour meeting but it certainly didn't bold well for UND and North Dakota. The way in which this has been handled from the beginning just makes me want to fight it even more. I would love to donate some money to a law firm to sue the NCAA for discrimination against UND. Of course though I don't want the university to be hurt by this any longer and the outlook is more and more looking like no Fighting Sioux any longer. Truly a sad day for UND and North Dakota.

Yeah that Gregs goal was a thing of beauty. I got all excited and then I realized Gregs wasn't coming back. Will miss his production.

I just hope that none of the new construction going up is a Subway/Little Ceaser store. How many of those places does a town need. Sorry I needed to throw my two cents in.

Honestly I don't care what other people think especially some sports writers. UND needs to do what is in the best Interest of UND. I believe this new super conference is a good move. It will be nice if ND comes along but it certainly would not hurt us if they didn't. I just would love to be a fly on the wall when Mcloud and Shep got the news of the new league. At the very least they should lose their jobs.
