Why would Douple be mad at the Big Sky? Douple is the one who sat on his hands regarding UND. Is he just mad that he lost UND to the Big Sky? UND ended up with a much better deal so I guess Douple is just going to have to move on and get over it.

When you see all the problems schools have with schedules and the problems we had getting our schedule for next year it reminds me now much I am looking forward to getting into the Big Sky when scheduling will become a whole lot easier. We just have one more year to suck it up.
-
I guess you know quite a bit about the situation for the 3 games your questioning. Who are the 3 teams we could of had? I am not saying we don't have grounds for being mad. I am just saying unless we know what really went on behind the scenes you probably shouldn't throw someone under the bus. Maybe we couldn't afford to bring a real good team in. Maybe we didn't want to sacrifice future schedules or finances for a home game in transition. I honestly am saying you could be right but I personally need more information. There just might be some teams who just simply didn't want to come to Grand Forks too.
-
That is exactly what I meant. There can be many different circumstances.

I love how people want to throw Faison under the bus when they look at how other teams filled out their schedules. I don't think it is as easy as it looks. Dates have to match up and be available at the time each school is looking. There also could be many other factors involved like financial. I find it hard to get to mad without knowing all the inside information. I think we just have to have faith that Faison is doing the best he can with what is available. It is going to get a whole lot better after next year.

I think you are right on that I guess. I have a feeling the way things are right now there actually might of been more interest in the men's game. Oh well. If our men's team keeps going in the direction they are going the next time WDAY will choose the men's game to put on the air.
-
Does anybody know what really happened on the lack of a men's broadcast Saturday. Did WDAY break a contract or what? Kind of a funny deal I have to admit.
-
I would imagine the reason it hasn't been investigated more is that it didn't involve the police . I guessing what it really amounts to is someone doing something stupid. I guess people are just curious.

I had heard that the leash was going to be quite short with him after his other problems with studying and making grades.

After some of the transition home games we have had ANYBODY in the Bg Sky looks like a great home game to me.

If the story was true that we were telling Douple to tell every one that we can't be a member of the Summit until the nickname was settled. Right after he made the announcement he was also telling member schools to not schedule UND. UND needed games on their schedules and yet we were supposed to go along with actions of Douple which hindered us from making schedules for our sports teams. It doesn't make sense.
-
It is possible he used the words don't recall to soften the situation and not come right out and call Douple a liar. He might be trying to not totally embarrass Douple.
-
This Douple guy must be a real piece of work.

The bottom line is we lost the game. We definitely stunk at the free throw line and had a really ill advised time out called. Yes we made mistakes. We did a lot of positive things with 5 freshman too. In itself that is quite impressive. The future is very bright and we are heading in the right direction. At least people are talking about the men's team now. It definitely was a wild and crazy game though.
-
I would doubt he would be doing Sioux games but you never know.
-
The main reason there is so much back and forth is because Bison fans are on here stirring it up. The fact that UND got into the Big Sky really hit a nerve for them. The bottom line is both schools are happy. So just enjoy.

Since everyone is speculating my theory is the following. If we disregarded all the other sports and were only talking about football. I guarantee you Bison coaches and players would rather be in the Big Sky along with UND, Eastern Wahington, Cal Poly, Davis, Montana and Montana State and others rather than the Missouri Valley. They will never admit it though.
-
I see you listed the average attendances for all the Dakota schools. What do the other schools in MVFC have for averages for football.

I believe NDSU has paid a lot to bring in some of the weak teams they have played in non conference in Fargo. I think I read where they gave ST. Francis a lot of money to come to Fargo next year. Let's face it St. Francis only won 1 game last year and probably are one of the weakest teams in FCS. You also have to remember NDSU has been playoff elgible coming up on their 4th year and they are still bringing in some pretty weak teams. Getting decent home games in the non conference season is very tough. Just ask Gene Taylor. Considering UND is still in transition I just don't think Faison thinks it is worth it to spend the money NDSU does considering there is no chance for playoffs yet.
-
Thank God for the Big Sky. One more year. I can't wait but I will hang in there.
-
More than one person on here has said that next years home schedule is not very exciting. There probably isn't a real urgency to announce it. After next year our home schedule is going to be exciting every year. Hang in there and don't be so quick to criticize. Sometimes I think certain posters only want to look at the negative. I hope everyone will get excited about the future and just hang in there till after next year.
-
It would be a major upset if the Sioux stay within 25. I have seen both teams play and it will not be close. Believe me.
-
The difference is that NDSU spends a lot of time bragging about their attendance for football and then when they finally get a home playoff game they have 7000 empty seats. We know we have empty seats at football games so it isn't a surprise. NDSU had to have been crushed when they looked at the number of empty seats at the Fargodome for their playoff game. When UND gets out of transition and possibly making the playoffs in FCS hopefully the Alerus will have a nice crowd.
-
To say the Bison still should be favored is kind of an understatement. If this game is within 25 points I would be shocked.
-
UND fans are proud of all the victories over NDSU and if NDSU fans don't care then I guess we don't need to go any further with this discussion. UND will keep it proudly and cherish it proudly. So be it.
