A start but not enough. Bubba has to go. He has shown over and over again that he is not up to the task of building a championship FCS team. Keeping him and getting rid of some assistants does nothing in the long run but delay the timeframe when UND can compete for a championship.
-
Almost looks like the defense gave up once Bubba decided to give up and punt.
-
Seasons over. The only thing that would make this somewhat OK is if the entire staff is canned. Willing to bet that the AD won’t do it.
-
Bubba just surrendered.
-
And we are losing...
-
WTF will it take for Bubba to replace this QB ? Unbelievable !!
-
On obvious pass plays I would blitz Ketteringham every single time. UND can’t make blocking adjustments and Ketteringham doesn’t move and looks scared.
-
No chance this inept coaching staff will bring in a new QB. They should have done it earlier in the game and didn’t. They certainly won’t now.
-
I would like to believe that they cannot play a worse half of football than what we just witnessed. They are very lucky to be only down seven. Without the muffed punt by NAU this game might already be over. Not it sure the second half will be any better though. The running game has to be much better for any chance based on how Ketteringham looks. Straight ahead smash mouth football to start the second half. Take Santiago out, he doesn’t look right, and use Johannesson.

WTF ? Horrible management this last series. The coaching staff is incredibly bad.
-
If this is a loss bubba should go. If this is a win bubba should go.
-
Then the AD needs to go too.
-
I have said for some time the coaching staff needs to go. Can the current coaching staff win an FCS title ? I think the answer is obvious and hence they need to be replaced. I doubt that will happen. The only possible chance is if they lose their final two games. There may be a slight chance that could prompt the AD to action.

One question: Is it possible for North Dakota to win a championship in the future with this coaching staff ? My answer is: no chance whatsoever For me it’s time for changes. Certainly the offensive coordinator needs to go but I believe that has been obvious for some time. Therefore the head coach must be held responsible. Bubba’s in his fifth year and is an improvement over Mussman but I don’t see him getting it done. If it were up to me I might give him one more year if he got a new offensive coordinator otherwise he’s gone also.
-
We won the last game of the year last year. How did that work out ?
-
Berry needs to do a better job coaching and adapt to what is going on. Nick Jones should not have been taking those offensive zone faceoffs in the last 30 seconds. He had been losing pretty much every faceoff in the third period. When someone isn’t getting the job done you cannot put him back out there for critical faceoffs. Sometimes things aren’t working and the coach has to make adjustments, Berry didn’t and they kept losing the offensive zone faceoffs in the last 30 seconds.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2017-18 Season

If you had told me at the start of the season that the Sioux would win 4-1 to end the season I would have thought they got #9. I believe only two teams will win their final game this season. Not too often that UND wins the final game they play and do not hang another banner. -
University of North Dakota Hockey 2017-18 Season

Not true. They beat Anchorage (pairwise #60) in the second game of the series and then followed it up with a sweep of St. Lawrence (pairwise #59) the next weekend. -
This is not a very good team. They’ve only won 14 of 33 games to this point with the longest winning streak being three games. Those three wins came against the two worst teams in college hockey, Alaska Anchorage and St. Lawrence. This team lacks high skill players this year. Without the skill their only hope is to play smart with maximum effort. Too often they fail mightily in one or both of these areas.
-
That was some serious effed up officiating. On the fake penalty to smith the refs must not have seen the play and just took the word of arrogant whiner or they saw it and still ruled it a 5- min major. Pure incompetent officiating and deserving of suspension from the league. Arrogant whiner should be suspended for endangering the welfare of a player who had no business dressing for this game. Two players bump in open ice and one goes down and has to be helped off the ice and can't even stand up ? I hope he is ok but the implication is that he was nowhere healthy enough to play tonight. If your going to give 5 min major and game disqualifications then you should have a video review to confirm. Those penalties can have an oversized impact on a game and as tonight graphically showed the refs are too incompetent to get it right (although I don't have a lot more confidence that they can make the correct call using video, see the BU playoff game last March for evidence).

Confirms my belief that the entire coaching staff needs to go. Incompetent. Clock management is easy to do. No excuse for this. We have a team that is undisciplined, an offensive coach who is clueless, and a head coach who seems to have no idea how to manage the clock. All of this should be significantly better regardless of the talent on the field. Is this as bad as the Mussman regime? No but it is not a lot better. Just because it is better does not mean it is good enough.

The NCHC wants to be the premier league and in terms of competitive teams they are right there. For the fans they have some room for major improvement in certain areas. The webcasts from a number of the schools are total crap, second rate broadcasts with very minimal effort and $$$ spent and then they have the audacity to charge for this poor product. As far as the target center goes it is a complete joke. No conference that wants to be the best should be holding any event in a dump like the TC, especially when you have one of the premier buildings just miles away. If they don't terminate the TC and move it to the XCEL by next season it will tell me the conference is just doing lip service on being the best.
