How the hell did siouxrock get a ticket

The Hobey is going to Peter Sejna, Chris Kunitz, or Dave LeNeveu. Normally, I would say that a sophomore (LeNeveu) should not win...however you can't argue with the guys stats (.943 save %, and 1.13 GAA)...If I had to call it now (and I will) it's going to Peter Sejna. He leads the nation in scoring and does it in the WCHA. Kunitz is 5 points behind him, but plays in the CCHA (Alska-Fairbanks finished 8th of 12 teams, they were Anchorages's only win of the season...also there are 5 WCHA teams in the National tournament, and only 3 from the CCHA). The fan votes also only count 2% towards who actually wins it (otherwise Panzer would have kicked everyone's ass two years ago). Plus, Parise doesn't deserve it, he's not good enough.........yet and Rockboy...Parise will probably leave early anyway, weather he gets it or not

It looks as though Ferris State is riding Mike Brown on defense. They've given up 85 goals on about 1150 shots this year (with Brown between the pipes)...they give up around 30 shots on average a game playing in the CCHA. It appears that their defense has been riding Brown the entire season. This is very promising news...I would also like to point out that they lost to Alabama-Huntsville on neutral ice in their Christmas tournament.

I believe it starts at 5 pm Eastern (Siouxrock...this means it will be at 4 here) and flatspin...don't knock Married with Children (I know it doesn't compare to Sioux hockey, but it is still qualtity prgraming)...MASH I could do without

You're not the only one...I saw one kid that I have a few classes with sporting Gopher gear and cheering for Minnesota (although he was doing M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A, quite enthusiasticaly too....which was dissapointing to see) 01grad...we're you the one wearing a black Sioux jersey in 105 or 6 (on the glass)cheering for the Gophers on Sat. night?

To be honest when saw that Parise was a Hobey Finalist I had a WTF? reaction, but being the Sioux fan that I am I cheered anyway. I think that Bochenski would have been a better pick to be a finalist than Parise this year.

melde, I wasn't getting on you for the schedule, I was on a role and just lumped things together, my fault. I do believe that Duluth should get a chance in the NCAA's, though.

What about St. Cloud State??? Why do THEY deserve to be there instead of us or UMD?? Way to do your research. We do deserve to make the tourney...and we only played one CHA team...Niagra, Canisius is in the MAAC. As I recall Alabama-Huntsville is CHA also, well so much for that theory To the Gopher fans, you should know that there was a lot of Green and White cheering FOR Minnesota in the Championship game, myself included (sorry Sioux fans, growing up a Gopher fan, you just can't turn it off because you become a Sioux fan)...however I did not see one Sioux fan doing the M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A thing, because lets face it sioux_11 is right it's stupid. But at the same time, I realize that we have our own cheers that other schools find annoying and stupid. Let's also drop the Parise vs. Vanek ROY controversy...what's done is done

Handyman does have a bit of a point. While I definately would not call the Waibel-Smaagaard-Fleming line dominating by any means, they did have a hell of a tournament in the Final Five. On another note, Justin Johnson is the main reason the Gophs won the Final Five. The first three goals were scored in the first 5:25 of the game, where Minnesota DID dominate CC. After that, however, I feel that CC outplayed Minnesota, not by a lot, but none the less outplayed them. CC had a few chances in the second period that brought back painful (and recent) memories of Sioux players missing nets and not finishing. Handyman also has another point...DO NOT look past Ferris State, let's take this tournament one game at a time. But Minnesota shouldn't look past Mercyhurst either, two years ago they almost upset Michigan in the opening round of the NCAA's. ....And yes, we can beat them in their own building

If you look at most team rosters, the majority of players are from out of state...it's called college, I myself am from Minneapolis, yet I go to school in North Dakota...look at that...out of state melde...give it a few years, the Gophers will have just as many out of country players as the rest of the NCAA (I hesitate to say out of state, because of the caliber of hockey that does come out of Minnesota). I was not saying it was a bad thing, perhaps I could have made that more clear...I apologize.

I don't believe that the opening routine needs to change at all. Though "We're sorry" doesn't sound too bad. The Duluth/Huskie thing...This is a college game, not High School, The Minnesota one is Squirts, PeeWee's at best REA DOES need to bring back the sieve thing Sieve Song is CC/SCSU not UND (also, SCSU sieves everything) You hit the last part on the nose...MORE fliers, posters, etc...

The point I was making smart guy was don't go bashing us for having "25-year old Canucks" when you have a guy from another continent

I think that they will be DEFENDING the goal in sections 109/110/111...so go for the other side of the rink on Thursday night...that's where the home team usually defends. I don't know the section numbers on the other side of the ice...however don't quote me on it

I picked 3rd for one reason...it will be hell to play CC so soon after Duluth. I can guarantee that Duluth will put up a hell of a fight against us. CC has then played two less games in a week than we have, fatigue will be a factor Friday afternoon...Also, don't forget that this is not neutral ice...this is only a bigger Mariucci, Gopher fans will be in full force. I do however hope that I am wrong
