It's not fair to base your comparison on who was a better goalie by the number of rings he won on a particular team I don't think. How many great goalies are there that have never won the Stanley Cup or an NCAA title? I'm sure the list is quite long. That's just a poor comparison.

Some of these post are so laughable. Az, who do think played in front of JP to get to 2 straight frozen fours. It changes year to year. The number 1 reason JP left ,was with all the underclassmen leaving and his stock is not going to get higher, he had to go. I would go even futher Ziggy could have and would the done the same. Back in the USHL days Ziggy and Lammy, even Sedevie were better. But the reality is JP had a CHANCE to play and play alot, not because he was a great goalie. "its not what you know, it who you know" or who you are!!!!!!!. I'm not taking any thing away from JP, The last couple of years you could have played Walski in the net and made a winner out of him. I do not want to see poster so far up JP a$$ saying he earned it because of the way he played!!!!!! He played for one of the best teams in the country. Answer one ? is Brigg any different the JP. So how long do we hold the scholarship offer open to him knowing that, if he should hold on to this and then turn it down, it may be too late to use that scholarship on an adequate replacement?

It's not up to the west to decide. The NDHAA would not allow that, back in the 80's it was done 1E vs 8W( ? ). If we do that in hockey lets do in every other sport. I think the format should be like USA Hockey North and South. If eveything played out the east would get there 6 teams( Minot and Bismarck) every year. That would bring the level of play up to speed out west. We all know this thread is based on Grand Fork and Fargo hockey, just look at the picture with an opened mind. I will take all bet, Minot would finish in the top 3 in the east every year if they played big games every week.

[] ND high school hockey does not use the USA Rule Book. ND hockey use the National Federation of State High School hockey rule book. http://www.nfhs.org/ScriptContent/Index.cfm . Looking at the USA rule book does not do anybody any good.

Does anyone have a direct quote of the rule. Here is what I found from a USA Hockey rulebook. I did not see any reference to a 3 step rule - I would be interested in seeing the "3 step rule" cited here just for informational purposes. "When a player, in control of the puck on the opponent's side of the center red line and having no other opponent to pass than the goalkeeper, is tripped or otherwise fouled from behind, thus preventing a reasonable scoring opportunity, a penalty shot/optional minor shall be awarded to the non-offending team. Nevertheless, the Referee shall not stop the play until the attacking team has lost possession and control of the puck to the defending team." USA Hockey Official Rules

He will have to sit out 2004 - 2005 and UMd will lose there stud this year. Cratter a back-up in D-I hockey is not a bad thing!!! He will have a better chance of seeing ice time @ UMD . Cratter you must like your backup role

Why Guess!!!!! He is going to UMD!!!! During the 2005-2006 hockey season you can travel HWY 2 from Grand forks to UMD and watch 3 ND goalie play D1 hockey.

Yes it a nice promblem if your a fan. For Ziggy it a big problem in other ways. Player at this level want to play. I can tell you this he is not at UND to tosay he played for UND. As a fan you should look at in with a open mind, I bet half of this board would love to say they played for the Sioux. That is why Ziggy and Com. are where they are at in hockey career, they want to be the best and play,and play NOW!!!!!
