kiper said on espn radio this morning that NDSU could play in any FBS conference including the SEC and not be a cellar team I don't know if I would go that far yet. but they are damn good. didn't their men's bb team knock off a top 15 wisconsin team a few years back. I would put that win as bigger beings kstate isn't going to be as good as they were last year. also their FB team's win at montana back about ten years ago could be considered a bigger win as at that time they were truly playing up a division and it was their fist win against an upper division team and started to pave the way for their D1 move.

look at the teams over the past few years in BC and yale that have won it all, neither was a "Big" team. nor were Blais' two title winners.

I'm not sold on johnson yet, at this point I think he is overrated and so do nhl scouts/teams as within a year he goes from potential first round/second round pick to what the fifth round.

yep, there were two instances in hakstol's tenure where a third place game helped them 2005 when they beat minny and secured a two seed and 2008 when they beat cc which gave them a one seed that year. but the 2009 third place game didn't do much for them.

how about play one of the alaska schools there and have games that count.

I'm not opposed to a dh in the nl either, I think it is just stupid that in the world series you have it in al parks and not in nl parks.

they could just go back to the days of yesteryear like you mentioned and just rotate homefield. I would actually prefer to see more interleague and say have one 3 game series against every team from the other league and determine homefield off of overall best record just like the nba and nhl do. but "tradionalists" would have heart attacks if that were to happen.

it's better than having a home run hitting contest to decide home field. at this point there isn't a better solution to determine home field in the world series as everbody doesn't play everybody in interleague to make having the best record be the determining factor. that said some interleague matchups are no different than say carolina versus the wild in hockey, or memphis versus the hawks in basketball or detroit versus buffalo infootball. there are always going to be less than desireable matchups.

I've got us going 22-12 for the year in the regular season, where that wouldl leave us is anyone's guess.

miami? BU? SCSU? Omaha? I'm willing to bet UND gets 3-4 wins out of these four first half series. the bigger question is whch team will they lose to that no one thinks they should?

two things the college game to do to replicate the nhl, go to 4 on 4 in OT and have the delay of game penalty for shooting the puck in to the crowd.

I'm okay with that, we get some new blood in miami and western michigan. not he same but still pretty high quality and I'm guessing the majority of season ticketholders would feel the same as renewal rate was extremely high again. I think come next season we'll have at least one of not two of those teams every season for the most part.

I said it earlier in this thread, I expect this team to be a better team than the last two year's squads here. I fully expect a slow start and a gangbuster finish.
