  1. Yeah. Okay. Whatever.
  2. I have to agree with 'DMB' on this one. There are ways to handle things, and ways not to handle things. Bringing the press into it falls in the latter catagory. Blaise knows when contracts come out, and certain procedures must be followed. He's acting like a child at Christmas who wants to open his presents early. Yes, he's the number one coach at UND. This doesn't allow him to make/ change policy. Maybe it's time for Deano to take a trip to the lake in his new boat that they bought for him and chill the hell out. (by the way, I saw Dale Lennon's boat in his back yard. What a piece of junk) Maybe Roger is going to add up the 10% increases in Fighting Sioux Club fees first, (see students? we get hosed too! ) to see how much extra $$$ Dean gets. Patience, Dean. Now go chase some walleye on Lake of the Woods. *Edited by me... Maybe DB didn't invite the press into the discussions. In that case, a "no comment" would have worked fine.
  3. Now this is news... anyone else heard this? This article makes it sound like he's got one foot out the door. Maybe he's getting pushed a little?
  4. That's a... STATEMENT The hatred at REA runs pure and deep. Although we haven't made shirts... yet! WPoS... how's the toe? TOO FUNNY!!!
  5. They could take high school refs and get better results than what we've seen the past couple of years. When you have fans wearing shirts that say "Die Derek Sheppard" there must have been more than a few bad calls. (gopher fan at the final five... I thought Sheppard loved the gophers? He sure isn't a Sioux fan...) Anyway... how many times did Blaise go on the coaches show and publicly say what kind of crappy reffing was going on? He didn't give a damn about any fines, either. When a "classy" coach like Blaise is complaining, there's something to complain about! I say bring on the "farmers"!
  6. I voted Massen, but I think it would be a dead run with Schneider. Massen had really started doing some amazing things last season, and like many posts say, he works hard. He creates a ton of opportunities for himself, and the rest of the team as well. Breakout year? Maybe... it's in his own hands. Schneider is probably one of my favorite players to watch. (stemming from his WCHA debut against Manitoba ) He's smart on the ice, skates hard, and is a tough SOB. If he can get his point shot to release a little quicker, (not that he hasn't scored from the point) I see him as a huge asset to our offense, as well as being a staple defensive player. So many times there was too much playing around at the point in power play situations. (IMO) I think they'll quit looking for the perfect shot and start letting them rip, creating some rebound opportunities. Garbage goals? Who cares... they still show up on the scoreboard! If we get a couple of balanced scoring lines with the SSM additions, I think Parise will shine even brighter than the past season. Sure, his production was down in the second half of the year... but was that his personal play?... or the fact that he skated with someone hanging on his sweater for 3 periods? Hopefully that will change too.
  7. Ahhh... the good old days. Now I surf around at work! I have to agree with Handyman... looked like a sieve netminder to me. Still, he took good aim and didn't shoot at the pads. (like we've been seeing recently) Can't wait to see him in green and white!
  8. In what? God help you if you're in engineering... Everyone knows what a scam engineering is! Anyway, congratulations.
  9. Could competing on the track team mean he may be back on the football team next year? Or is he forever 86'd? Regardless... no brains/ no headaches...
  10. 10 years worth $102 million. Unfrickin'believeable. Or as George Kastanza once said, "Sweet Fancy Moses!" Here's The Story
  11. While the networks can't use the "big market" names to their advantage, they can play the "no superstar, team of 3rd & 4th liners, lowest salary" card. It just might get people interested if they market it correctly. Hell... I'd even watch the NBA playoffs if something like that happened! (well..... maybe not......) Go Wild!

This one more suits the NDSU Division I agenda... "Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently." ~ Henry Ford
  13. please read the above post about "not all season ticket holders have deep pockets"!
  14. PCM... I'm with you on this one. If there was something that the season ticketholders were doing that impeded the view of others, they'd have to give up what they want to do in some sort of compromise with those who object to their actions. But... hello out there... they're doing nothing wrong. Compromise doesn't have a damn thing to do with this. If you don't play by the rules, you get moved. REA students...case in point. Anyway...Flatspin, I'm sorry that those of you who do abide by the rules and are respectful of others are getting the s&!t end of the stick. That really sucks, but nobody ever said life is fair. Once you're out of school, it gets worse.
  15. Hey back off the "non-standers"... J/K I disagree, diggler. I think the decision has been made, and now it's a "going through the motions" thing. Maybe I'm wrong, God knows it's not the first time... but I think that conversations with the student senate are nothing more than a courtesy/ PR game. After all, the students do not own any piece of that building; and after all the broo-ha-ha (love that word) about team spirit, crowd atmosphere, and students' rights is over with... the students do not have a leg to stand on, and are subject to whatever the AD decides.
  16. Yes... and it was ignored. So, the students as a collective group are now going to reap what they sow. I can just hear the meeting of the new student proposal... "Mr. Thomas, I know we've been disrespectful in the past, but this time we really, really, really promise to be good." Give me a GD break! Since you brought up football, my seats are in the front row at the Alerus, and I sit my ass down out of courtesy to those behind me. When play calls for it, I'm up on my feet yelling and screaming like everyone else. NASCAR??? Who gives a damn about NASCAR?
  17. I agree, but do you think that REA wants the responsibility for enforcing UND's policy? Since there's no way to control the crowd, other than... I think the move is inevitable. I think that guy who brought up the boycott ought to be shaken, not stirred. Is there not a shortage/ waiting list for student tickets as well? I'm sure he gained tons of ground with the "powers that be" with that comment. Way to help your cause, dumbs**t.

So are you one of "us"? Only joking... I'm sure many people feel the same way you do. I do, however, stand by my thoughts on the 'SU administration...

We maintained our Division II status. That was the last thing they wanted us to do...
  21. How long until he "gets out on parole"? All of the intelligent conversation and proper spelling and grammar is getting out of hand... siouXroCk seriuSly is comingg bAkc rite? (shoot...I misspelled parolee)
  22. It's a "lotta-wrong."
  23. If I may plat devil's advocate... I wonder what would have happened if a group of students complained about other students standing to REA ushers/ admin? Certainly the REA admin turned a blind eye to any enforcement of the "standing issue" this past season. But was it because it would be viewed as the same old "old farts vs. the students" thing? I have to wonder if REA might have taken some action if it was the students complaining... I think that's a bet I'd take...
