On the second Russian and second Canadian goals, he was way too soft on the puck. Like it was just a pick-up game, or something. He has great skills with the puck, but it doesn't matter if he doesn't play well defensively. UND could've helped him with that, as well. I still think he will be a great player, but it just sucks that he's not doing it right now.

We had some good offensive zone time in the first half of the period, as well. When we are skating and executing we can control the play as well as any team, but we haven't been able to finish. Not enough net-front presence. We're too small up front. Even if we lose this game, we might be able to beat Slovakia and advance, but if we don't figure out how to score we won't medal. /statingtheobvious

Isn't it obvious that they want to know what the record is for the highest number of players with a point in a single game in UND history? As in: "15 different UND players got on the scoresheet today, and that's a new record at UND."

That's a great straw man that you've set up for yourself to rail against. I'm sure there are a TON of UND fans that don't care about winning national titles. The real thing I would watch out for is people like you that crap on any accomplishment that isn't an NCAA tournament title. Sometimes, I'm afraid to mention anything positive about UND hockey's accomplishments, so who needs to watch out for whom? In fact, I think I was the only person that even made a case for UND as the best program in the country and brought up the positives about our program. Most people are probably afraid to even mention it because you and fightingsioux4life will jump on them, because "It's not a NATIONAL TITLE !!!1" Now, what were you saying about all these imaginary people that don't care about winning national titles?

It's hard for me to choose between two Sioux jerseys... This was so much easier when it was our jerseys against everybody else's.

I thought so too. A lot of the goals were horrible screens and power plays and whatnot. I think Gillies and Gibson are both good options. The problem is that the skaters took too many penalties and didn't score enough. They really need to change something. Our best players weren't playing with any passion. That's probably why they pushed back the cuts, because they are telling the most talented guys that if they don't work their ass off, we will bring somebody with less talent that will.

It wouldn't surprise me with how bad the Gophers have been at recruiting in the last 5 years, or so. All that homegrown talent to choose from and you still pick so many duds....

I just read somewhere that UND players have played more NHL games than any college in the country.... Jonathan Toews, Eddie Belfour, Zach Parise, Drew Stafford, Matt Greene, Matt Frattin, Mike Commodore, etc etc... Stanley Cups, Olympic medals.... Most games won out of all WCHA teams in the last 10 years and a Broadmoor Threepeat. (In the most competitve conference in the country) Plus, we are the University of North Dakota formerly Fighting Sioux......and we have the best college hockey program in the world.
