Yes, I recall Hakstol saying that in a pregame interview, as well. He said that the forwards have a lot of responisbility to get their feet moving and make themselves available for breakout passes.

I don't care if people are unhappy about things, but there's been a consistent trend with this guy where all he does is talk trash about UND and then he makes sure to tack on the standard, "I think they will get better", "I love the Sioux sooooo much, but" or whatever it is to make himself sound reasonable. This is the same guy that said we were the worst defensive team in the country and we have been outplayed in all but one game this year and that Andrew MacWilliam is an uncontrollable thug that Hakstol is afraid of. Like I said earlier, I think this guy is a "concern troll" that hates UND. Whatever, though. it's not a big deal. I usually just skip over his posts, because they are so predictable.

Just saying, it could be worse. We could be playing to our potential right now and end up having a slow start and a "meh" finish. I'd take the last 8 years over that.

They're not that far off of playing up to their potential. Some guys might've been off tonight(plus Parks and Knight aren't healthy), but overall what you see is what you're going to get. They just aren't going to ever be an offensive juggernaut, this year. They will have to work hard and play good team defense and get timely scoring to win. And have lights out goaltending. Every game will be a battle. Just like every year, it seems. I hope I'm just being a bummer and they will prove me wrong.

I've seen Hakstol's teams enough. They almost never come back. It was a miracle that we came back from down a goal once already in this game. I'm probably just reacting badly to how the game is going. Just feelin pessimistic, right now. and I wish Saunders would've played.

We're not going to win. We needed to keep it even at 1. Notre Dame is too good at shutting things down and we're not good enough at scoring. Goodnight.

The other obvious reason to switch up goalies is to give the Irish a different look, in case they identified a weakness on Saunders last night. It keeps the Irish from getting comfortable.

NIce to see the goals in HD and everything, but it's too bad Notre Dame didn't show more actual highlights from the game. Half the video is them complaining about not getting a free goal. Anders Lee could've got to that puck a little quicker(before the ref blew the whistle), but he didn't. That's hockey.

I hope Simpson is OK. It would be typical if he got injured on an uncalled hit to the head after all the sketchy 5 minute majors that have gone against us, this year.

I think Tim Hennessy is awesome and he calls opposition goals with a lot of enthusiasm. I really don't think he's much of a homer, at all. Not when compared to the average radio announcer.

What's so hard about adding up all the tickets that get scanned by the scanners at the gates? It comes down to what your definition of the word "attendance" is. I guess I'm old-school in that I think "attendance", in this context, should be a measure of the number of people that "attend" something.

Throw potatoes on the ice. Hold up a sign with a cut-out picture of the Prime Minister of Ireland's face and add a red beard and leprachaun outfit and have their "dukes" up. According to the University of Notre Dame, all Irish people are drunken, brawling leprachauns. (Where's Ryan Cardinal and the Gopher !@#!$! brigade on this one? Are you talking about me? Because I disagree with a Gopher mole that says our team defense is the worst in the country and we haven't been the better team other than one game this season? We all don't have to buy into the constant doom and gloom around here: "Damn you, Brad Berry!", "OMG 46 shots!", "THE SEASON'S OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11" (and I'm sure if we shut Notre Dame down defensively over the weekend, you will come back here and admit you were overreacting about our team defense. All of you armchair experts and your brilliant theories make me laugh.)
