  1. Not sure if you guys had heard this about Pryor. Anyone have any info on his development? http://noalibisnoregrets.blogspot.com/2008...nick-pryor.html
  2. Exactly! Crappy start to the weekend.
  3. I think he realizes that gopherz. I believe he is saying he understands the product is worth more than say the Anchorage series. However, they are gouging because people will pay it. Unfortunately, raising the prices prevents some people from sharing the rivalry with their kids. That hurts everyone in the long haul. An 8 year old boy shouldn't have to miss out on a Gopher/UND series with his dad because it is cheaper to take him to both the Mankato and the Anchorage series. I am lucky and don't have to worry about the extra coin. I still feel for the people who can't eat $80 just for tickets to one night of the series.
  4. Most importantly, nice to see you back, AZ. While I am cautious based on his projections, nice pick up for the Gophers. Mueller or no Mueller. Especially when he chose the M over UND
  5. That is one of the best looking Sioux Jerseys I have ever seen. Keep fighting Will, all of us wear the same jersey when we are rooting for you. Stay strong, Will!!
  6. As in the big city, small city, each side will have prejudice applied in thier submissions. No one should say anything other than the Sioux fans support their team very well, at REA or on the road. Many WCHA schools follow their teams well. UND is my favorite trip of the year, not because of the idiots, we all unfortunately, have in our fan base's. Its the true fans that love their University and it's hockey program and will defend it to the ends beyond facts, that i respect and look forward to meeting each trip up. Regardless of how much people may go overboard one way or the other. As long as the love of the University and game is at the base, not some stupid stereo-type or agenda; I love talking hockey and life with the true, good in nature person and the great fan.....Its always interesting when rival fans talk about any subject. You definitely get two sides of the discussion.
  7. Why can't different strokes for different folks apply here? City mouse, country mouse. We all know a guy from here that lives there. We all know someone from there who couldn't wait to get here. Which ever way that sentence applies to you. Your going to defend your own beliefs. This is so funny. People that want the metropolitan life life in a metro area, same for rural areas unless life or a job takes you away (7>5, I feel for you, facing a similar situation in a possible move to Omaha) Nobody is wrong, what works for one, may not work for the other. Man, I hate the off-season! I cant wait until the "Kangas was a one year wonder" thread starts when he gives up 3 goals and, the "Duncan is nothing without Toews and Oshie" when he has 1 point after the first weekend. This isn't directed towards anyone specific, just an opinion from a hockey starved fan. 90 days seems like forever away......
  8. $10 on Gray-oar then Grig-Ire back to back.
  9. You can't argue their MO. One of thee, if not thee, top professional organizations to model an expansion franchise after. Not a fan, nor do I have disdain for the Wings. I respect what they do and how they do it. Completely off topic: to what level did Konstantinov recover? Thanks in advance.
  10. I thought Goon had this a month or so ago? I had it sent to me by a Sioux loving friend a few weeks ago. Good stuff.
  11. I would use the yawn if I had it. Nice font by the way...skippy. My grandfather told me never get into a battle of wits with an unarmed man. Done with you.
  12. Any thoughts on whom? I would like to see the Wild draft him. For no other reason than he is a talented left wing. The Wild are in desperate need of talent at the left wing position.
  13. Ok, Sunshine. It has to do with being called out based on a post months ago that said something other than what your smart a** response was referring. Thanks for bringing it up again.
  14. Is the reason that Toews has slipped so much because of the injury? The people at Shattuck think he is every bit the player Jonathan was and will be. Seems odd that a temporary situation would drop a guy so much when the draft is based on talent and possible development. I wouldn't be suprised to see Toews go earlier than what has been speculated lately.
  15. Jackson has done an amazing job out there. Aren't they building a new arena or have built a new arena? If they have/are.... I am sure it will be nice. No Ralph of course. Notre Dame usually does the facilities part well. Goon, you're a big CCHA guy, correct?
  16. My earlier comment was sustaining an NHL franchise during the SEASON, not camp. It wouldnt work as a regular season home for large amount of time. If my name was Siouxguy33 you wouldn't have said anything about previous posts. Enjoy camp and think what you will. Thanks for chiming in for the first time on the subject.
  17. I will bet by late September you will have them at 1 or 2 Nothing wrong with gaining confidence in your squad as the season gets closer.
  18. Read my posts before you pat yourself on the back The day they are there during the season, I will eat crow. Until then, read before you write.
  19. He can sign a one way contract which could guarantee more money. By more money I mean an NHL contract. If they offered the MAX, how was he humiliated? HE TURNED THEM DOWN! Phoenix should be humiliated, they traded a #5 for a second round pick 4-5 years later. Just because he wore a Gopher jersey, you fail to apply logic.
  20. Please don't reproduce. Everyone in this forum is now....nevermind. WOW.
  21. Who's expectations, as Red Wing said, a lot of this could be laid at Gretzky's feet. Wheeler didn't draft himself at #5. He was a mid 20's rated player, I believe. The Yote's drafted him there, the number 5 pick razz is tired. While Wheeler is open for critique of his play at times, his draft placement isn't. I think you may want to let this play out before you judge. If the Yotes were going to play him in the minors, he can get a much better deal elswhere. The point of who was drafted before or after is always easy after the fact and a poor arguement. The draft is based on potential. Output as a 21 year old is only part of it. I suppose you would have taken Tom Brady with the number one overall pick Petey? There are guys drafted after Sioux players who are better than the two you mentioned, if you bring the former, you have to acknowledge the latter. The Yote's offered him the max they could, do you really think they would rather have the pick?
  22. It may be SC1's use of ebonics that is throwing Slap Shot off.
  23. Look for Gophers to hire Hastings according to Hammy's Blog http://gopherpuck.blogspot.com/
  24. It could be worse...the gophers could have laid an egg in a national semi-final game this year, instead of the all important third place game in the conference tourney. If only my team could be perfect like the infallible Sioux This reminds me of 3rd grade.. Yes, you did. No, I didn't. Did too! Did not! Dummy! Putz!
  25. I was just trying to say...if you judge the resigning/firing as trouble before having the data or watching the product/end result, you are wrong. If I said the vikings running game would struggle last year before AP fell to them in the draft...I would look like a fool after week 6. It is easy to judge when you have only half of the story. Let's see who the replacement is and how the team plays the next few seasons before we say there is a huge loss. Mike was great for the program, the new guy could be better, could be worse. Saying a result is bad before having any data or results is the only wrong, judging without knowledge. Every great head coach was once an assistant. That guy may be the new Minnesota assistant. The next Minnesota coach may fail, let's give the guy a job before we torch.
