  1. My point is if you dont win the whole thing, In my opinion I would enjoy winning the conference season title and the tournament title instead of nothing. I am not saying I wasnt dissappointed to lose in the NCAA tourney. I am saying i enjoyed the season more because of that. I would rather go to the final four every year. Beating UND does not make Minnesota's season as beating UM seems to make your season. The best part is we can do it all over again next year, and the years after that.
  2. I completley agree with your second statement. It wouldn't be a rivalry if the same team one every game.
  3. I would rather have a season championship and a tourney championship, more than UND's participation banner.
  4. I don't want to start anything either. As long as your last game is a loss, it's all the same.
  5. How many kids from Edina and Blaine have the Gophers offered in the last 4 years? Sorry to go off topic again. Gophers are batting pretty good I would say.
  6. It depends on the kid, some like certain things about schools that others don't. A guy at a high school game last week told me Nick chose UND because it was like Chaska and more his style. I suppose people will say now he has changed as a person and would do better at Minnesota? Doubt it You can't paint it with that broad of brush. It may also have something to do with the Gophers recruiting on a more national/North American scale as well. Not why Nick went to UND, to the people making stuff up..Minnesota will still get great recruits as will UND. There was buzz around UND that when Irmen and Potulny's came to the Gophers that you couldn't get the big boys....we all know that's not true. Filter through and use your own mind, just like Chevy, Ford and Dodge. All drivers of them think there truck is the best and will tell you all day why. The truth is, in their eyes, its the best for them. 99% of the people on here rip on Wheeler being a shi**y player and saying Phoenix wont sign him and never would. Those people are wrong and make themselves sound stupid because they have no knowledge of what's happened and its obvious to those that know. Just sayin.
  7. Not trying to win the jersey, AZ said he had some pissed on Harrington autograph or something for me if I won. If I win the jersey, I will find some way of assisting Nick with expenses through someone who would actually want it. The survivor is pure entertainment for me.
  8. I do wish UM had more of that...any of that.
  9. Unit, Core, God, Country.......
  10. Finally, One of you admits it!
  11. Congrats on the win today. Sounds like it wasn't as pretty as you might hope for, it is still 2 pts and thats all you care about. Good luck tomorrow
  12. Western Michigan goes up 2-0 on Notre Dame...Good for the Gophers Why are you guys playing Sat. and Sunday afternoon?
  13. BU has really come on strong and BC has really hit a snag. Anyone know if Princeton won?
  14. I saw it, I was agreeing with your statement. Easy Avs....I wasn't saying GF is a pasture, I can see how you would read it that way. To say athletes wouldn't notice if they were in minneapolis or GF is.....ummmmm talk to an agent. Different strokes for different folks. Agree to disagree.
  15. Check out Eagan, its 10 minutes from the X and if you take Shepherd road you will be walking into the arena 15 minutes after you leave your room.
  16. You can stick a cadillac in a pasture, its still full of sh** when you drive it out. Having a nice building isn't the be all end all to operating a NHL team. I understand you are proud of your "diamond in the rough" up there. Not that it matters.....you have to understand these guys would have to live there for a short time, practice there, fly in and out of there, put up other teams there, sell suites, its not only about the building. Bash and hate all you want, defend your town and economy to the end of time. Bash the traffic and crime in the cities all you wish as well. GF couldn't sustain a NHL team for more than a weekend. Ask your ecomonics prof. I was saying if you are going to go up there, the Kohl center and surrounding area has just as much to offer. Its all mute, its training camp anyway. They will not have a home game until a month later. I would say the REA is better than most of the NHL arenas. Its not about the arena for sure.
  17. Ridder only holds 3,000. The fact that its the Minnesota Wild, they all make more sense than REA. I just dont see the benifit to the Wild or NHL going up there. Kohl Center could work if they get to the length of REA options as well. Maybe an upper midwest tour?
  18. It's not an ideal situation, you can build a smaller rink on an olympic sheet. Simpifying it greatly..they could use the Xcel style boards with different mounting brackets to utilize the UM sheet. I would think the DECC, if not under construction itself, would make more sense than all the way up to GF. The Ralph would be fun, I just dont see it happening. I have no inside info.
  19. Not a direct slam.... Your market wouldnt make sense beacause of the numbers. How many people in GF would spend $85-60 dollars to watch the Wild? Maybe 4k? I could see one game if the government would cover the lost revenue....hmm, that's what they do! it may happen! All the same, I would imagine the Mucci would likley be the correct place. Besides, we all know the suckage will be coming from Grand Forks next year.
