  1. You're the man!! Thanks.
  2. Does anyone have the link for the AA v SCSU game webcast at 10 tonight? Thanks!
  3. Or, you could look at it with actual facts. 2 d-men are hurt and suspended, 2 forwards out with injuries, one forward moved back to d and another..Scott, aka the terminator, played when they would rather he didn't. Most people are against the level to which Schack went. To ignore fact to further a tired argument, exposes an agenda. To some. But that's through colored classes I guess.
  4. Got it. I am not a fan of reffing the "situation" either. I think expecting an even number of calls sets you up for just that too. If its a penalty call it, I dont care if its 5-1, 1-1 or the calls are 8-1 in favor of the home team. Just call the book. Obviously officiating isn't easy, is there a conference that is known for having good officials? I have watched more CCHA games with my new location this year. I think the CCHA is more consistent all across the board IMHO.
  5. Weren't the 4 previous penalties against Denver? I guess if UND gets the calls its ok, if they go against UND its the black helicopters?
  6. I thought OSU was behind UND before the game with Alaska was completed. I was trying to find the comparisons that changed during play last night. Doesn't really matter I guess.
  7. What comparisons did OSU change or changed to allow them to jump ahead of UND? I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance
  8. Don't disagree. Anderson did skate off. The stretcher was for the ankle. I wasn't defending Schack or comparing the 2 situations. Comment was on face to face. We could go round and round. I stand by my original post. Good luck, and Marto get it going again! Fantasy team
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og1LqrLcAIs...feature=related Was Anderson facing Zajac? I am not getting into this with you two.
  10. Touche' We can all admit that we see our fellow fans says stuff and think..Just shut up!! As some did when I wrote my message. I hope they call the first 10 minutes tight and then we move on to hockey.
  11. This quote in no way reflects the feelings of most Minnesota hockey fans. Come on gopherz. I think Brian went a little to far. I do appreciate him defending his teammates. Not all of you... The double standard of "tough Sioux hockey" and "standing up for a teammate" when its a Sioux player vs a Gopher player is sad. You change the jersey color and most posts on here are "the Sioux stand up for each other", "We have pride", "Sioux don't back down", "you don't CFB a Sioux player and walk away" Go through your game threads from last year and this year. If you don't like Schacks behavior, call him out. But keep it exclusive of unrelated events. All teams get chippy at times. Obviously, its not a gopher site. However, to sit on your soapbox, throwing stones from your glass houses is ridiculous. Watch some of the 100's of Sioux fighting clips on Youtube and ask yourself...Am I serious? I am not proud of every gopher players actions at all times this year. I will admit when one goes overboard. Schack did to an extent. To lob insults at the gopher program as a whole, as if your favorite team has never succom to emotion and stupidity on the ice, cannot be said with a straight face. Good luck tonight.
  12. You have gotten some good free press lately. Advertisers wont be far behind. Good for you, any press for college hockey is good.
  13. If you read those comments on most stories you would see they are not filtered. Must have been an issue with the submission. If you need an ego trip or another reason to worry about the future of our country, read the comment sections.
  14. Yes. I also think its ignorant to think EVERY kid wants to play at the UofM or fits the roster at that time
  15. Not to jump you here gopherz.....Really? You don't think Bemidji can identify and get winning level talent there? Not every Minnesota kid has a an offer from Minnesota or b, accepts an offer. You can't see the future. As AZ alluded to, would you trade Fischer for Oshie? White for half of Mankato's team? Flynn's brother is a better college player than Ryan. Kids develop differently. Just because you get an offer from Minnesota doesn't mean you take it or turn out to be the best college player from the state. You wouldn't have wanted these guys at Minnesota? Parrish Backes Carle Sertich Oshie Parise Lee Niskanen May McBain Petersen Sneep to name a few. Your thoughts that Minnesota gets the cream of the crop every year are not true. The recruiting rankings say they are usually successful. For every Jordan Schroeder, there is a Nick Checco. They don't give hardware for recruiting rankings.
  16. I don't see what motivation Minnesota has for a Big Ten Conference in hockey. Share the TV revenue from FSN with the Big Ten and it's joke of a network? Minnesota and Wisconsin play MSU and Michigan once a year. Make that weekend into a tourney similar to the Final Five with UMN, UM, MSU, UW and OSU if you want to explore the Big Ten hockey idea. The Big Ten Challenge and rotate it between the X, Kohl and the Joe. There is no rivalry for either school with OSU in any sport except maybe baseball at UMN. I just don't see how it would strengthen the Big Ten Conference as a whole to do this. Penn State would make more sense in an east conference. To many reasons for the WCHA break up would be magnified in the Big Ten Conference. A five or six team league? no way. The CCHA and Final Five tourneys are huge money makers for the NCAA and participating schools. Your going to turn two highly successful leagues and tournaments into 1 strong yet limited league and one very top heavy league and another just waiting to fail? This is the stuff that makes me laugh when people complain about the Final Five being in St. Paul every year. It wouldn't be as successful anywhere else. Is it an advantage to Minnesota, sure. Its an advantage to every program in the WCHA as well. Same applies for the CCHA. CCHA tourney is always complained about by schools outside of Michigan. Take the Red Wings, Michigan, Michigan St., FSN Detroit and the Detroit Chamber out and what do you have? Nothing. The benefits afforded because of someone are also afforded to them. You can't pick and choose. In reality. I see BSU as a challenge to Minnesota in recruiting and fan base. Minnesota recruits primarily in Minnesota, adding another top program makes UM's success more difficult.
  17. Minnesota is in favor of BSU coming in. They somewhat led the charge.

    Lucia

Lucia was not the coach in 98-99, it was Wooger other points... When you are the "Yankees" of hockey, you don't travel to those places very often. When was the last time Oklahoma, USC, Texas, Florida, Florida St., Georgia, LSU etc played football in Minnesota, Wisconsin or Iowa? Not very often. Minnesota invites 2 eastern teams every year to the Holiday Classic. When you are in a position of having a holiday tourney and in the HOF game regularly against the east. I know many of our fans would rather see a regular series with an eastern power too. With all the tourneys being held, it make it tough. Most eastern teams want to play in Minnesota for the exposure to recruits, too. I am not a Lucia apologist... NDH-I don't see where anyone who actually knows how much time he dedicates to youth hockey, his players and the Elite League can say he is completely selfish? Just because you dislike the hockey program don't throw crap at the wall and hope it sticks to the coach. Not all 20+ kids are going to like their coach. I wouldn't expect to see we heart Lucia in this thread, to call him an ass when you don't know the guy? How much face time have you had with Lucia to feel the need to go out of your way to post in a thread about his health that he is an ass? What has he done to coaches? Kept Mike around for 8 years when he wasn't picked by Lucia? Minnesota has had more coaching stability than most. Like I said, I don't expect to read pro Minnesota stuff here. I do expect you to have some back up to saying someone is self-serving, self-promoting and an ass. By no means does he walk on water or live without faults, you are way off base on Lucia. IMHO. To those of you Sioux fans I met this past weekend, thanks for being good sports and doing it in a respectful manner. I had a blast and look forward to being up there again in a couple years.
  19. +1 Not the all-time low point, just a series. You don't win or lose anything in January. That was a long drive home on Sunday. Tip my hat to your squad and also your fans. Was almost like you felt sorry for us at the bars I will take solace in the fact that neither team has played like that this year and my team will rebound. If your team plays like they did this weekend, might as well crown 'em. Very impressive performance and you have to be happy with BE and how they took advantage of most opportunities. Got a tour of the Ralph weight room etc. Very impressive. Love the new Stanley Cup wall and NHL display. Turning the page to SCSU.
  20. Please, please, please tell me you are going to have the chick in a gopher jersey in the penalty box. That was hilarious!!!!

    Lucia

Tubby Smith. I am first in line on the fire Chilly bandwagon. To much talent to struggle into the playoffs and lay an egg in a home playoff game. Lucia has a big test on Friday and I hope he passes it with flying colors.
  22. Reeks of desperation and fear. Just kidding. I was looking forward to it last year and it didn't work. Maybe this year, It would be cool to see it live. A weekend with the students back would make more sense. Good luck!
  23. Between hosting the Holiday Classic and the Hockey Showcase, the gophers have 2-4 games they can schedule. I would prefer that they drop the Holiday Classic and work on some sort of tourney like the pre-season NIT in hoops. Maybe a true college hockey showcase where 8 teams like...BU, BC, Maine, UND, UMN, Michigan, Miami, UNH etc would play a rolling tourney. One year UND hosts Michigan, BU and Maine, While BC hosts UMN, Maine and Vermont. The next year Michigan hosts Northeastern, UMN and Maine etc. The HE, Minnesota WCHA and CCHA schools could schedule themselves in the first round to help their schedules if necessary. Kind of defeats the purpose.. The challenge is you need 4 teams and there are 3 power conferences. I understand why you have holiday tourneys $$ and local exposure. I think in the long run, getting the Boston/Minnesota type rivalry from the 80's going again, BC/UND from today is better for college hockey. Or maybe take the Frozen Four from the last year and play in a warm climate in December and play off the emotion from last April. If you make the FF you get a scheduling allowance. Not perfect, I know. I think all premier program hockey fans would rather see their teams play UNH, BC, UMI, UND, UMN, BU and Vermont types on a regular basis than Harvard, Brown or Union. Pipe dream.
