Why are we still talking about this? The B10 will be fine with its current members (and any other ones that come on board) and UND will not go to the B10, they will work on making the NCHC better then it already is.

Midco's 5 year deal started in 12-13, so it will end after the 16-17 season. If I'm a betting man, I would put money on Midco not retaining the UND deal due to their inability to reach people unless they are in Midco's viewing area.

I believe Midco could add another station to their long list of channels already to accommodate multi-sports coverage in the region. Hockey contract wont be up until 2017.

I haven't read pages 2 and 3 (so excuse me if its been brought up) but what about the Cinderella story coming out of little old Carrington, ND? Coming from small town ND and being drafted in the 2nd round of the NFL draft. Now that's a story....

True, I shouldn't have said it the way I did. What I was trying to say was, why leave a conference that you are in control of and would get a better share of TV money? Also, it would only be a matter of time before the B10 adds another original member from the B10 and UND is out. Seeing as Minnesota has let the "cooling off" period come to and end, we will likely see more teams like Wisconsin and Minnesota on a regular basis. Not only that but after the season the B10 teams had this year, I am willing to bet you will see a lot more schools from the B10 schedule better out of conference games.

I've said that from the beginning but people don't think that it is a big deal. In all reality, this is basically a fun topic to chat about on SS but I would be willing to bet that the B10 will not ask UND to join. There would be no benefit for UND joining anyway.

I would assume it would make no difference if other sports are out East or West. The only thing that matters is, how much money will the hockey program bring in if they join the B10?

What's the deal with everyone thinking that the B10 is going to reach out to UND anyway? Yes, UND should listen but I don't see any reason to make the jump. 1. The membership is only in hockey. 2. It's not like UND will be getting a huge chunk of TV revenue. UND has the power in the NCHC, why give that up and move onto the B10 where you don't have power? 3. The league sucks right now and at this moment it doesn't look good for them, compared to the NCHC. 4. Thursday/Sunday games, there wont be many but there will be some. I don't like the idea of resting players two days between games against the same teams and it is troublesome for fans. 5. UND is already in a conference with schools that put hockey first, B10 puts hockey behind other sports as Football, Men's and Woman's BBall. Why go to a conference like that.

Nebraska is a big market for the B10 and with the Huskers already a full member, it wouldn't be that surprising.

So by these standards, why would the B10 want to associate with UND, I mean UND's endowment doesn't even come close to the lowest one in the B10.

The financial commitment is there for BSU as with Mankato, so you can throw that theory out the window.

Why don't you cringe when WMU was added to the conference? Sure they may be D1 across the board but they have no history in hockey, at least Bemidji State can say they have reached past the 2nd round of the tournament and made it to the Frozen Four.

IF/WHEN ASU goes to the B10, it will be for a short period of time. Notre Dame going to the B10 only makes sense, there is no reason for them to even be in HE. The folks over at the B10 know what they need to do to make their conference more attractive and that is why they are pro-actively adding teams. I would agree with you that the B10 is imploding if they stayed at 6 teams but that's not the case. In fact with these recent moves, I believe they are aligning themselves to be one of the better conferences. North Dakota will not join the B10, they would add more regional teams before bolting to a new conference. With the recent success at Bemidji St. and Mankato St. I wouldnt be surprised if the people at the NCHC are keeping an eye on them to see how long they can keep it up. Just my 2 cents.
