Was it poor foresight to not get those three? I would say no because Blais and Hak foresight were to bring on Parise, Stafford, Murray, Porter, Zajac, Spirko, etc.

100% on everything. The one thing that I think hurt Berry was his trust in certain players also being high character individuals. Jammer was Berry's guy and if what is being said about Jammer is true, he really let Berry down.

Motzko knows the rules on equipment failures how to handle it, stop with the "forced" crap. He could have used his timeout, but he gambled and it didn't work out. Every fan base uses the same kind of excuse when their team blows a lead (our fans have done it) but the fact remains, they were up 2 goals and their piss poor play allowed UMASS to come back. There was no reason for the Gophers to lift their foot off the gas at all, they had that game won but choice to play prevent. The non tripping call was not the reason they lost in the first place. Honestly, it also looked like the lost more of an edge than getting tripped.

I would consider that a short leash for UNDs standards. That gives you time to get your players and implement your style of play. you are correct, we shouldn’t expect much next year, no matter who’s our coach.

I have a hard time believing that Chaves or other higher ups were clueless when they brought Miller in. Unless the coaching staff deliberately hid that but I really doubt it.

I agree that WHOEVER it is, they should get a short leash but I would hope the AD (and whoever else) sets out a strict plan on what we should expect to see from year to year. My thought is at least 3 or 4 years. Gives them time to get settled and get THEIR players.

Short leash? Two years? That isn’t exactly giving one enough time. He doesn’t even have a starting goalie. If you’re giving him a short leash, then I’m afraid we will be portal shopping regularly. We won’t know because I’m sure they are doing it like they did for football. North Dakota’s open law records would allow everyone to know who applied if they actually put in their application. My guess is, they are vetting everyone before they apply and then when they find the one they want, that person will apply.

I can’t see in any scenario where Karl is retained, Dillion on the other hand is questionable but my gut says no. He needs to bring in “his” guys. also, if the new HC wins a natty next year, are we going to give credit to Berry like we have to Hakstol?
