If your happy with the foundation that bubba has laid, so be it but I’m not. It’s been a mediocre foundation that’s been okay with winning a few games and getting to the tournament only to lose. I want to see MVFC championships and NCAA tournament wins.

Are you really comparing Jim to those two? I believe both of them were coaches before getting hired at the college level. But those two are much bigger names than Jimmy and bring a much higher recognition to a program.

The portal has closed and all recruits have stayed committed, so it should be business as usual until a coach is named. If what we are hearing is only a few coaches applied, then why wait? but if Chaves has a few other tricks up his sleeve for coaches that are still coaching in bowl games, take your time.

This is 100% true but we shouldn’t expect an immediate national championship. We need to realize that the new coach is building the foundation for continued success in the following years.

What would make him a good coach for UND? Other than he is a football god from North Dakota due to his success as a player, he hasn’t shown (at least that I’m not aware of) any type of credentials as a coach. If they hired him, I’m afraid it would be like when the Gophers hired Lindsey Whalen.

Why do you think deboer’s success was his only? All of his staff had help in making that success happen. One could say that Deboer isn’t having success at Alabama because he doesn’t have some of the same people there that helped him before. SDSU was a complete mess before schmidt got there so im not surprised that he didn’t have immediate success but i am willing to bet that he will be a hot commodity as a HC soon if UND doesn’t hire him. No matter who UND hires, we won’t see immediate success as it will take the HC a full season with players that aren’t his.

Ever since announcing that UND was going to D1, the AD has screwed up. Mussman was not a good hire and Bubba stayed too long. UND needs to get this right.

Yes but that has nothing to do with levels of CC program vs UND’s. If you are comparing the two programs against each other, UND is much more enticing than CC.

I am with you. I feel like we would make headway some years and then the following year we would take 2 steps back. The thing I loved about him is exactly what you said, he bled for not only the football program but for the University as a whole and some coaches don't do that. I am glad they kept him onboard because his skills are still needed for fundraising purposes.

You are correct in that statement but I am sure Berry's rebuttal will be his league titles and his average of 20+ wins a season.

UND has more money and backing at their disposal than CC, of course it would be a big leap from CC.

She has threatened it before. I don't remember specifics (getting old) but when Kennedy was here, he wanted the Betty to utilize the new logo (I know it's not popular) on center court for branding purposes and to help the University move forward with the new nickname (from a marketing standpoint, it is 100% factual). She ran to the press to make it seem like he was the bad guy and threatened to donate less money because of it. She's taking a page out of her dad's playbook because he did the same thing. The problem with most of it is that leadership before Kennedy arrived always kicked the can down the road and never wanted to tackle the issue and then finally an adult showed up and tried his darndest to clean it all up. Berry knows that having her on his side is beneficial to him staying and the hockey program getting what they want.

Of course she has an influence on if Berry stays or goes. She pulled her donation at UNLV for “lack of university leadership. You don’t think if Chaves decided to not renew Berry, there wouldn’t be a fit come from her? The only way we are getting a new coach is if Berry steps down on his own accord.

He might be trying to win but maybe the game has passed his style of coaching. It happens to all coaches.
