  1. Funny, but I had heard that 10,000 Gopher fans showed up at Mariucci expecting to see the UND/UM game in person. I guess they figured that since Minnesota qualified for the Frozen Four, the tournament would be moved from Columbus to accomodate the local fans.
  2. Well, with gas lines as long as they are and Jimmy Carter running the country, I hope Hakstol's pay is adjusted for inflation!
  3. I hear ya there. Boy, we should be GM's or something. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Ron Kittle of the White Sox and Joe Charboneau of the Indians might as well punch their tickets to Cooperstown right now!
  4. Wow, something is wrong with the water in Grand Forks. Did you even see this past year's Rose Bowl game? You people are on drugs! Be like Nancy Reagan and JUST SAY NO!
  5. Wow! That is big news. I turned off ESPN though just after they discussed the Final Four. Man, Clyde Drexler, Akeem Olajuwon, Michael Young, Larry Michaux, and company are gonna beat poor North Carolina State by 50 points tonite! Go Phi Slamma Jamma!
  6. That is nice work. I'll tell you what, folks, my broomball team just got its winter hats in (no jokes, please) the other day. They're approximately $14-$15 each. Honestly, that logo would look super cool embroidered on the front of a knit hat (skully-type or traditional winter hat). If people were serious about it (and I'd need a minimum of twelve to purchase, hats could be done w/that logo on front and your siouxsports.com moniker on the back. That way, all the true nerds, er, fans, could easily spot each other on those cold game nights. "Hey look, it's dagies." "Why how do you know?". "He's wearing his ultra cool SiouxSports.com hat." "Oh. I thought you recognized his mullet." Anyways, you get the point. We also have mid-profile baseball hats w/a velcro enclosure. I'm just throwing ideas out there. Seriously, that logo is pretty cool.
  7. Sorry, I musta missed it. I was at the Metrodome last night watching the Twins play. I think those youngsters they have like Kent Hrbek, Tom Brunansky, Gary Gaetti, and Frank Viola just might make them a contender someday.
  8. OK, I'm just gonna throw this out there and see what the reaction is. Is it just me or is Smurfette kinda hot? You know, in a cartoon sorta way?
  9. Judging by over 3,000 posts on this message board, dagies, my guess is you spend LOTS of time on the couch.
  10. From Sioux hockey to Michigan Stadium to the Masters? You have de-railed. Watching GOLF? Tie me to a street pole out in front of Mariucci and paint me maroon and gold first. Ugh. Dagies, Sioux-cia, and PCM sitting on the same couch together? Well, not that there's anything wrong with that... On another note, aren't Ratt and Poison coming to the Xcel Energy Center soon?
  11. Now that we have two Devils Lakers on the board now, someone please tell me where I can find a "SATANS" hockey jersey in a 48, please.
  12. Stryper? I think I saw their new video last night on Headbanger's Ball!
  13. Stop bugging me and compelling me to reply. Family Ties is on.
  14. Welcome aboard, RedFrog. Nice to have you w/us. PCM, we need more cowbell!
  15. Surely you can't be serious, Diggler? Have you heard The Minnesota Rouser lately?
  16. I sent Josh a fairly nice e-mail yesterday and got a nice reply in return from him. I would post some of his comments here, but I don't want Jim breathing down my neck. He did say that the article was basically meant to talk about how great a sports town and community Ann Arbor is and not as a cut to North Dakota. I think he meant well, but his pen misconstrued his words a bit. He even mentioned a possible follow-up article about North Dakota and that being his last article. We'll see if it happens. If you want to see the comments, PM me w/your e-mail address and I will forward the exchange we had to you. He's a college kid winding down his four years and much like when I graduated from UND in 1992, he's gonna miss Michigan. I can't say I blame him. Dagies, you need a psych exam if you think the WCHA Final Five can in any way, shape, or form compete with the Rose Bowl. Being a former North Dakota boy myself and having visited Michigan Stadium for the Penn State game back in 1999, I can honestly tell you walking into the place for the very first time gave me goosebumps. I grew up 20 miles from a town of 800 people. Our black and white TV carried two stations: NBC and ABC. From the time I was 5 years old, I could hum "Hail to the Victors" in my sleep and dreamed of someday being Anthony Carter or Desmond Howard. A stadium holding 108,000 people...or 1 in every 6 North Dakotans...wow. I thought it was incredible. Regardless of whether or not you like football or sports in general, the atmosphere is second-to-none. Throw in a couple of F-14's flying overhead since it was Veteran's Day weekend and well, I hope you get the picture. I sat next to 40 year + season ticket holders who had been to 14 bowl games in their lifetime, including 7 Rose Bowls. Me having attended about 10 Final Fives and 3 Frozen Fours pales in comparison. Just my two cents...
  17. IS THERE ANY DOUBT ABOUT THAT?
  18. Sorry, folks, I don't know how we can have a top ten list without The Platinum Fox being mentioned somewhere.
