  1. Boy, isn't that the truth. People don't leave a movie before it is over, but they feel comfortable leaving a one-goal hockey game with 4 minutes left? I attended UND during one of the greatest comebacks ever, a 0-5 deficit to Northern Michigan w/about 10:00 left in the game. When the Sioux made it 4-5 with about 2:00 left, you could actually see about 3,000 fans coming back INTO the arena. They tied it up and the game went into OT, where, thankfully, it ended 5-5 as opposed to a 6-5 loss. The most unbelievable comeback I have ever seen and the reason why I never leave a game until it's over.
  2. Nail on the head, Hockeymom. The real "battle," (if you will) shouldn't be between the students and old-timers. It should be the true fans trying to get the casual fan more involved. I enjoy a drink now and then as much as the next guy, but does anyone else see a pattern between fans at REA drinking and then dozing off? I swear, the booze lulls people to sleep up there!
  3. Thank you, Sicatoka. As I said earlier, Sioux fans young and old enjoyed the Frozen Four and there was much mutual respect. I partied with 19, er, 21 year olds and 68 year olds on the same bus and in the same bars/beer tents. It was a blast. How to incorporate the "we're on the same team" theme into REA is the big question here.
  4. How good of a time you ask, cfm? My two buddies who ditched me on the trip and stayed here are looking forward to driving to Milwaukee next year. I told them to meet me there.
  5. I was at UND for The Farce 20 year reunion (I think it was 20). What a hoot those guys were. I even ran into some of them in Columbus. Again, those road-trip fans are the TRUE fans: Those who KNOW the game and RESPECT it.
  6. Um...yes? Having a ticket stub doesn't give you a license to say and do anything you want in an arena. Just ask some Pistons fan or that clown who was removed from Fenway Park last night.
  7. Interesting that the students got so much credit for the fan conduct in Columbus considering my section consisted of mostly alumni. And honestly, it was quite nice to not hear the "who's he...he sucks sh**" chant. You swear because you care? Gimme a break. That being said, I don't think the solution is splitting up the student section. A compromise must be found. Ditch swearing, but keep the students together. Is it that hard?
  8. Lemme get this straight...hockey loving female fan can't find male suitor in Grand Forks? The apocalypse is upon us!
  9. YaneA, you're single?
  10. Where's the press conference?
  11. This is as bad as Minnesota had it in Yost...a 2002 game against CC (which had beaten Michigan State). Yawn. I hope you're not still whining about playing the 1997 regional against Michigan in Grand Rapids, again, over two hours from Ann Arbor. That would be like claiming an unfair home ice advantage for your beloved Gophers...if they were playing in Fergus Falls. 2002 West Regional Bracket @ Yost
  12. Or maybe sPlatinum sFox?
  13. But how's he gonna put the ragtop down so his hair can blow?
  14. 17,500 for hockey, 19,500 for basketball, and 21,000 for the Cinderella/Def Leppard concert. Short Bio of Value City Arena
  15. Correct. The last Frozen Four played in the "small" venues was Providence. You won't see that again.
  16. You're wrong about that sighting. He's over at city hall protesting the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
  17. Funny, but I had heard that 10,000 Gopher fans showed up at Mariucci expecting to see the UND/UM game in person. I guess they figured that since Minnesota qualified for the Frozen Four, the tournament would be moved from Columbus to accomodate the local fans.
