  1. ATLSiouxPhan, THETRIOUXPER is right on this one!
  2. Near the end of the video you can see Danny Irmen's head jolt as he's standing by the Gopher net. I can almost hear him screaming the f-bomb out loud.
  3. forecheck, I'm usually pretty adept at telling you whether SP, Nike, CCM, Gemini, or any other company makes a particular jersey, but I didn't see a single thing on the Crusader jerseys that might have identified who made it. If it's not a big-wig like Nike or CCM, I'm sure they'd be ecstatic over doing a bunch of jerseys as long as they had permission from Holy Cross to make 'em authentic. No name-plates, small company, I bet it wouldn't be anywhere near the $180 required for a Sioux authentic Nike. Side note for those interested: Holy Cross is old-school with not having names on the back of the away jerseys (also significantly cheaper, obviously). Their home whites do indeed sport a name-plate and name on the back.
  4. Help me out here, sagard. Minnesota "earns" the privilege of shipping CC to the Michigan regional in 2003 by virtue of beating them at the X, but in 2002, Denver, which won the MacNaughton Cup AND the WCHA Final Five "earns" the right to play Michigan in their own building, while Minnesota had the easier task of playing the Michigan State/CC winner. By virtue of your argument in 2003, do you not think that the brackets in 2002 should have been switched around and Minnesota should have wound up with the St Cloud/Michigan winner and Denver should have been dealt the Spartan/CC winner?
  5. I don't know if they coasted, but it's obvious the home regional in 2003 as well as a key UNH injury in the Frozen Four helped propel the Gophers to the title that year. Don't get me started about referees when referring to 2002, though, lest we re-hash the no-calls on Hauser in OT followed immediately by a Maine penalty that promptly led to the game-winner. EDIT: Those comments I just made are not intended to start a flame-fest. The Gophers were playing very well in 2003 and I don't think another team was even close to playing that good down the stretch. I still, however, wish the 2002 game had come down to an even-strength goal.
  6. In further conspiracy theory interest, the Sioux zamboni driver was the mysterious 2nd shooter in the JFK assassination.
  7. Editor's note: Bold emphasis on "modest" is my own. Cmon, let's be serious! Modest Gopher fans? I saw a friend of mine yesterday and discussed the game. Here are a few of the better 'excuses' given as to the HC loss (and I'm being totally serious): 1. It wasn't fair that the #1 team in the country had to go play on the road in Grand Forks. The regional should have been at Mariucci. 2. Holy Cross was clearly better than a 15 seed and the Gophers should have played Bemidji State instead. 3. The ice was kept super-sloppy so as to slow down the speed skaters donning the 'M' jerseys. The best part is #1. I also heard that reason given on Saturday morning by three Gopher fans checking out of their rooms in Grand Forks. Do some people have a clue as to how far in advance these regional sites are picked? Apparently not.
  8. sagard, you continue to be the lone voice of reason in a Gopher world gone mad.
  9. Blah blah blah...next season...blah blah blah. In Don you trust while I thank Holy Cross every day that the Gophers are busy plotting 2007 and not Milwaukee.
  10. Authentic jerseys tend to run 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, etc. Replica or fan jerseys are usually S, M, L, XL, XXL, etc. I'm curious to know how authentic these particular HC jerseys would be before I throw down money to buy one. As Runninwiththedogs can attest, my jersey collection is second-to-none.
  11. I believe size 48 is typically a large. I'm not talking some cheapo replica job either, I want double-sewn elbows and #19 on the back! Purple for sure since they were wearing that last weekend.
  12. Would Mrs PCM still be your puck bunny?
  13. EVERY time he stepped on the ice? That's quite a bold statement.
  14. Yes, the girls...I remember a number of years ago when I was at LSSU for a Michigan/Laker hockey game. I was astounded that a school of 3,000 could come up with that many puck bunnies to hang around waiting for the Lakers to leave Taffy Abel Arena.
  15. Stunningly enough, it started off a speculation over which Sioux players would be leaving school. As if jumping ship is on their collective minds right now.
  16. But do they have hot girls watching the games too?
  17. Yea. My softball average is up to .600 and I hit two home runs last season instead of my usual one.
  18. Bummer, dude. I'm on that board, too. I hope you get it fixed soon.
  19. Stand by your team, rushmore88. My razzing is in jest. I'd be standing by mine on gopherpucklive.com. If only such a site existed...
  20. And yet you took time out of your busy schedule making lattes and espressos to comment on it?
  21. The owner of Blarney's seized control of the web site late last night pursuant to court order after several players fell behind in making payments on their bar tabs.
