  1. I agree that it's a great experience...but there are things that detract from it.
  2. Ushers at the X will hold you back from trying to get back to your seat while the puck is in play. Ushers at REA...couldn't care less what you do while the puck is in play.
  3. I don't recall ever disagreeing with you previously on that issue. I used to have season tickets thru about the 2007 or 2008 season. Simply couldn't make every home weekend but also frustrated with having to get out of my seat 75 times a game so the folks around me could run and go grab another beer.
  4. I completely agree on both counts. But that's been my analysis since the place opened - too many people there "to be seen" as opposed to actually watch hockey.
  5. So you're saying there are only a couple of thousand tickets left for a Gopher/Huskie game in St Paul on Friday night? Kudos!
  6. That's funny...in 13 years of being at the WCHA Final Five, I never ONCE saw anyone wearing anything with a Bison or NDSU on it. And despite a 16-19-2 season in the year it opened, including a 7-9-1 record at home, you're saying REA was rockin' back in the good old days as opposed to today?
  7. And that's a shame. I'm probably in the minority on this but I'd personally be in favor of all rinks moving to the bigger surface. The Olympic ice sheet gives players more room to make plays. Today's hockey player is simply much larger in size than players in the 1940's and 1950's. Sometimes the 5 on 5 game in the NHL is like watching 10 kids playing in a sandbox.
  8. As Lt. Frank Drebin would say: "There's a 50/50 shot. Although there's only a 33% chance of that."
  9. I just checked Wilbur's Pairwise formula and according to him, UND stands a very good chance of making the NCAA tournament if they win every game here on out thru the NCHC tournament.
  10. Any insight as to how the pairings were made? Mariucci?
  11. The committee also rejected a one-minute moment of silence at the 2012 London games in memory of the Israeli athletes murdered in Munich in 1972...for fear that Arab nations would boycott the opening ceremonies. Yep, no politics or "our country is better than your country" feelings at the Olympics. Riiiiight.
  12. Donny, I've heard some whoppers in my day...but this one takes the cake.
  13. The Olympics in Nazi Germany in 1936? No problem. Judges giving low scores to members of countries they are "against"? Happened all the time. "Amateur" athletes who really were members of the army competing in the games? You bet. But how dare the United States women's hockey goalie wear a mask with some words from the Constitution of the United States on it! This cannot be tolerated! http://ingoalmag.com/masks/ioc-rules-force-vetter-change-u-s-olympic-mask/
  14. It's spelled 'memories'. What college did you attend? Maybe you need to watch ESPN's "The Junction Boys" and see how Paul Bryant ran his first team at Texas A&M.
  15. Which of Minnesota's four opponents to start the season would strike fear into the Bison? UNLV? New Mexico State? Western Illinois? Or San Jose State?
  16. No motivation to win the first bowl game for Minnesota in the last how many tries? C'mon...
  17. DON'T YOU EVER DISRESPECT ME! I'M THE BEST CORNERBACK IN THE NFL! Justice woul have been the 15 yard penalty imposed and another "Miracle in the Meadowlands" finish to end that game.
  18. How to get a goalie hot? I thought the general rule was no sex on game day?
  19. Win two home playoff games. Win two games at Target Center in front of a predominantly green-clad crowd. Sounds easy enough...
  20. Ouch. A little tough on neonpelican, aren't you? I get lost in jersey numbers all the time and think I have only 2 of those 3 right if I had to guess right now.
  21. Yep, I know. 1/3 of your posts remind everyone here of that. 1/3 say "in Hak we trust." The other 1/3 say something about tolerating mediocrity. Hopefully the 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 math equation didn't overload your brain this morning.
