  1. That's not entirely true. I think pretty much everyone here would be happy with 13 straight NCAA titles - but gfhockey would want the hammer put down on Hakstol if North Dakota didn't make the NCAA's in year 14.
  2. That's my point. No way Hakstol survives a four-year stretch like that. SiouxSports.com would be in total meltdown by year two. Agree 100% on the Final Five those years - best Final Fives ever.
  3. Since 2003-2004: Minnesota 237-134-42 North Dakota 265-127-40
  4. That's pretty rich, coming from a guy who posts his "season records" almost every day on this site.
  5. Thanks, Captain Obvious. Hence why I wanted to go with the 2003-2004 season. Try this one on for size, fs4l: 19-17-3 17-13-7 18-19-2 16-14-6 Do you pull the plug somewhere in the midst of that four-year stretch?
  6. Since 2000-2001: Wins: North Dakota 336 Minnesota 324 Losses: North Dakota 166 Minnesota 163 Ties: North Dakota 56 Minnesota 57
  7. Which effing way do you want it, gfhockey? You said 2000, now you want 2013-2014? I'm giving you your results in a second...now just sit in your poopy pants and suck on your pacifier until I'm done.
  8. Ok, I'll play along. 2 NCAA titles to 1* North Dakota = "mediocre" Minnesota = who I wish we were Really? Edit: That would actually be 1999-2000 season, not the start of the 2000-2001 season.
  9. I said 2004. Start from that fall to the present and tell me who is more "mediocre."
  10. What would gfhockey think if the records of UND and MN since 2004 were swapped? My guess is he'd pop a blood vessel!
  11. Where is this fifth column of Sioux fans who do NOT want a national championship? Those of us who do need to root them out immediately.
  12. I used to attend basketball camps all the time with the Schmitz boys from Golva - Jeremy and Jason. You couldn't help but cheer for those guys.
  13. Never said 'hot' goalie - I was criticizing North Dakota's own goaltending. Give up FIVE in an NCAA semi-final and you're on the WINNING team? Shouldn't happen.
  14. With all due respect, it's not Hakstol's fault that his goalie couldn't stop a beach ball in three straight Frozen Four games against BC. The 2006 and 2007 squads played hard in those two respective games but were constantly being deflated by shoddy goaltending. 2006: 6-5 2007: 6-4 2008: 6-1 The 2008 game was a debacle, nothing less. I think it was obvious that the ghosts of 2006 and 2007 got into the heads of the rest of team (as opposed to just the guy in net) at that point. My memory is fuzzy, although I watched all three games live. Who was/were the Sioux goalie(s) and BC goalie(s) for that three-year stretch?
  15. Attention YaneA, bigskyvikes, and neonpelican! Names were just sent by e-mail to Coaches Choice for the fix-it hats: 1 green hat: BIGSKY 3 pink hats: Amber Audrey Whitley 2 grey hats: Arlyn Jake five black hats: BIGSKY 7 9 11 7 9 11 7 9 11 7 9 11
  16. Double-checked - it's one green and one black hat. You and Coaches Choice have it correct.
  17. We're both anxiously waiting. I've defended Hakstol plenty - a .500 season this year would certainly be a major set-back for the program - and you could probably start a 2-3 year clock on the coaching staff should that happen.
  18. Sarcasm yes, but I meant it in the context of lots of posters continuing to believe that legendary stories of Sioux hockey begin and end with Dean Blais. It wasn't directed specifically at you.
  19. Whatever it was, they ordered two replacement hats. I'll double-check with CC.
  20. Sheesh, that's a bit harsh. We agree that it was a good game and the final score not a true indicator of Northeastern's performance.
  21. Ok, now that makes sense. You and I seem to agree on the Hakstol timeline should things start deteriorating record-wise. Why the comment about my sarcastic "Blais" post?
  22. That would have been a nice upset to help the IOC in their decision-making...darn.
  23. LOL...I used to debate my late grandpa on this all the time. Up until the day he died (at 93 years old), he was certain the government had some sort of "trust account" for everyone on Social Security that their "investment" had been earning interest on until they retired. It never dawned on him that there was no way possible that the nickels and dimes taken out of his paycheck in the 1940's-1970's couldn't possibly turn into the thousands of dollars that he would receive monthly after he retired until he passed away in 2008. Do the math, smokey. He was one of millions. Back on topic: It's cold outside today but I don't think we have a blizzard on the way.
  24. The "R" rated version is the one I've always known to be true. Pretty sure on one of the many ESPN shows they've done, that's exactly how Mike Eruzione tells it as well.
