Monikers should be put on the hats this week. All hats will be shipped to YaneA in Grand Forks. I will let you know when they have been shipped out.

Great video, Ray77. I'm always amazed by the number of hockey "fans" who remember winning the gold medal "against the Soviets." It's incredible how many people think that that was the gold medal game. Can you imagine how much less that game would be discussed today had the US lost to Finland?
-
A bit optimistic with that opening bid price, no? I want money for my hockey pucks...I'm talking serious money...AMMMEEEGO money.
-
Attention YaneA, bigskyvikes, and neonpelican! Names were just sent by e-mail to Coaches Choice for the fix-it hats: 2 green hats: BIGSKY 3 pink hats: Amber Audrey Whitley 2 grey hats: Arlyn Jake four black hats: 7 9 11 7 9 11 7 9 11 7 9 11

Wilbur (3): 2L 1 XXL neonpelican (3): 1 L 2 XXL southpaw, weren't you on this list somewhere too?

I'm glad the USA won the game...but that 9-0 final is exactly the ammunition that the IOC wants to get rid of women's Olympic hockey altogether. Here's hoping that the gold medal game is USA vs Finland so the parity argument can be made for keeping the sport around another four years.

It was definitely fun watching BC completely melt down, wasn't it?
-
I seem to recall folks everywhere predicting a BC repeat a few years ago...and then Colorado College took Muse and company out behind the woodshed for a whoopin'.
-
Yea, I saw that BC scored two goals in about the last 3:00 of the game. It was 2-1 BC at the 14:30 mark of the 3rd.
-
BC wins the Beanpot. In other ground-breaking news tonight, it's cold outside.

Is it on Dish?

Nobody else? You'll be sorry you didn't...

As opposed to 3,000+ of: fire hak? In hak we trust? I make more money than you? And i'm buzzed?
-
Are you proposing a Sioux hockey coach version of John Calipari? Just hang banners in the rafters, coach, we don't care how it gets done.
-
Now you want Hak canned because BU lost to Harvard? LOL!
-
Exactly who I thought you would point out. Had Hakstol won the 2005 NCAA title, this thread would STILL be blowing up right now for his inability to win another one since then. I hope Kentucky fans enjoyed the Billy Gillispie years and cry bitter tears once the NCAA reaper takes down Calipari's banner from the rafters at Rupp Arena. Florida sealed Tubby's fate in 2006 and 2007. Hak would already be gone had Minnesota won back to back NCAA titles in the past two years.
-
Seems to me coaching changes happen at Kentucky for one of two reasons: The NCAA violations hammer Missing the NCAA tournament Which criteria has Hakstol met in his 9 year tenure?
-
Because the team that's favored every year should win the title every time, right? Cough, cough, 1980 Soviet Union (men's Olympic hockey)...1983 Houston Cougars (men's basketball)...1985 Georgetown Hoyas (men's basketball)...cough, cough, 1997 Michigan Wolverines (ice hockey)...cough, cough, 2004 LA Lakers (NBA)...2014 Denver Broncos (NFL)...

Kentucky NCAA titles: 1948, 1949, 1951, 1958, 1978, 1996, 1998, 2012 UNC NCAA titles: 1924, 1957, 1982, 1993, 2005, 2009 Sioux NCAA hockey titles: 1959, 1963, 1980, 1982, 1987, 1997, 2000 Those are interesting title year statistics. UND's due.
-
I wouldn't exactly call a 9-year season average of 26 wins, 13 losses, and 4 ties a sign that Hakstol is running the program into the ground. Hakstol has done everything but win an NCAA title with the Sioux...I sure hope he wins one...and soon.

Yea, Brian was cute, but in my son's eyes, he's totally tainted forever. It'd be like Wilbur's two-year old catching the episode of Thomas the Train where Sir Toppemhat busts all the steam engines smoking pot inside Gordon's shed.

Good call. What happened was unfortunate - and let's leave it at that.

My then-four year old son loved it too. Always referred to the show as "Brian the puppy." We watched it together until the 2004 or 2005 season premiere where Brian stubbed his toe or something and yelled "son-of-bitch" about 30 seconds into the show. TV off. My son's impression of Brian the puppy ruined forever.
