Got your Big 10 Hockey Conference Tournament tickets yet, Dave?
-
I thought this was pretty cool... http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/story/_/id/9561234/uni-watch-power-rankings-rates-nfl-mlb-nba-nhl-uniforms-1-122

Has anyone seen a nice TV schedule for men's hockey?
-
So says pro-Pittsburgh anti-Flyer fan DaveK. Not surprised at all by this comment.

For a buck or two more (or maybe three or four) per shirt, we can up the shirt quality and get Gildan shirts. Gildans are good quality shirts - I have lots of them.
-
I'm in if you are.

I've been waiting...for a girl like u...(here's where I throw up in my mouth a little)...

That's awesome! Thanks much, southpaw!

Greg Trebil left the Bantam A program at Jefferson and took the head coaching job at Holy Angels Academy in 1996. He and Tom Saterdalen (then Jefferson's head varsity coach) had a HUGE falling-out over four of Trebil's Bantam A players then heading over to AHA for the start of their run of glory on the high school team. Trebil's last season of '11-'12 was a train wreck. The Stars that season lost to Breck by an 8-2 score, Burnsville by a 15-3 mark, and Benilde-St Margaret's (the new "it" school in Minnesota) by a 15-2 tally. They also lost to New Prague for the first time in I believe 20 years. Ouch.

Is everyone texting the right number?
-
I don't know if it changes...I think Kennedy's varsity team is still a two-line ONLY team because they can only get about 14 kids to go out for hockey. Jefferson's program has been in a steady decline for about 10 years now.
-
I forgot to post this last week: Bloomington Kennedy HS boys defeated Jefferson last week 2-1...their first victory over their cross-town rival in FOURTEEN YEARS! The king is dead! The king is dead!

July 17th. The down-side is Target Center, but I'll take what I can get. I've seen Styx five times since 2006...and have yet to be disappointed in their show. MN State Fair (2 times), Target Center, St Paul's Midway Stadium, and Treasure Island.
-
Foreigner and Styx coming to the Target Center in July. Yea baby!

So true! Representin' the 763!

Ok, shameless bump. Text me at 612-386-8207 and I will send you a picture of the Sioux-colored Hossbreath shirts. Wilbur's not driving all the way from Williston to Minneapolis next month and leaving empty-handed.

Right! True story...at my dad's navy reunion about 6 years ago, he had one of his old sailor buddies from the Boston area convinced that mail was still deliveredy by the pony express in North Dakota.
-
The Beanpot itself is about Boston. My reference to the 'titles west of Boston' wasn't implying that Harvard and Northeastern were multiple-time title winners - I was just simply pointing towards the schools considered to be 'west.'
-
Good argument, but if we're talking titles west of Boston, you've got to include Denver in the equation in place of UMD.
-
Good points, Snake. And since we previously had the WCHA vs CCHA yearly when MN and WI would play MSU and MI, it would almost make sense to have the tournament be an NCHC vs Big 10 tournament with Denver and North Dakota each getting a turn at Minnesota and Wisconsin. I like it!
-
Yes, but that's a 50+ year old tournament that pre-dates their conference affiliation with Hockey East. Plus they're all located in Boston. It's not like it is Harvard, Boston U, Boston College, and Maine.
-
That's exactly the kind of résumé I had in mind when I threw out the foursome of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. Denver would fit that job description as well.
-
I get the GLI...I was picturing an imaginary perfect-world hockey tournament to rival the Beanpot. In my opinion, St Cloud State, while a great program with plenty of potential, just doesn't match up with Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. And for all the talk about St Cloud State, they just don't draw that well. Take the St Paul regional just a few years ago. You would think St Cloud would have packed the fans in for the championship game against Wisconsin. Instead, the whole place was primarily Badger fans. Even then, the attendance was around 5,000. St Cloud State fan support and travel-bility factor: Over-rated. Like I said already with adding Michigan into the equation, 3 of the 4 teams I mentioned are in the Big 10, it's not like my tournament would happen anyways.

Signing him as a free agent in the off-season doesn't help THIS season's playoff chances...
