Picked Minnesota, Notre Dame, BC, and UMass-Lowell today...would love to see Robert Morris and Denver pull off upsets though. St Cloud State? Nah.
-
...which will no doubt happen here again if UND loses today...or in the Frozen Four semi-finals...or in the NCAA championship game..
-
http://www.mavpuck.com/mpboard/ I haven't heard of any such rumblings myself...but I'm sure they are out there...

Saw those this morning...surprised there were only 7. http://m.host.madison.com/sports/college/hockey/badgers-men-s-hockey-three-goal-third-bumps-uw-out/article_98ef88e9-1efe-5b30-9031-a7facd6c8520.html?mode=comments&mobile_touch=true

30-9-1 record in 2002-2003 coming into NCAA tournament play. CCHA champions. Placed in west regional at Mariucci Arena as the #2 seed. While #1 seed Minnesota dismantled Mercyhurst in their first game, the #3 seed Sioux looked like they took the Bulldogs for granted and were looking ahead in a 5-2 loss. Minny then defeated Ferris 7-4 and advanced to the Frozen Four. Beat Michigan in OT and them rolled UNH in the championship game.

Michigan...Michigan State...Arizona...Florida...my Final Four picks are all still alive at the Elite 8 mark. Pretty sure I haven't had that luck since I had UCLA winning the tournament back in '95!
-
Wouldn't that be spelled "Jaccson"?
-
The dry heat must be taking a toll on you this weeked, Oxbow6. C'mon...Yale is the home of the country's oldest inter-collegiate ice hockey team with roots dating back to 1893 and has over 2,000 wins in program history. They may lack NCAA titles, but Yale does NOT lack tradition.
-
UND a #4 seed that squeaked into the tournament. It's an upset. Goal-scoring pretty evenly distributed amongst the team. Draft status doesn't win tournament games.
-
...that's the exact same number of NCAA playoff teams that vaunted Union College played against this season...1-0-1 against St Cloud and 1-1-1 against Colgate.
-
...and boy did they dodge a bullet on that flop in front of Motte late in today's game. What should have been 2:00 in the box for diving and a chance for Colgate to tie the game instead resulted in a 2:00 Bulldog power play.

Yup x 100 on both comments!
-
4-0 baby! I'd like to claim that I'm some sort of hockey Rasputin, but, alas, I'm tied with 39 others! Nonetheless...it's Minnesota, Notre Dame, UMass-Lowell, and Boston College winning tomorrow...
-
Just watched replay of Colgate-Ferris. Ferris gave up 34 or 35 shots to Colgate...Sioux need to put that kind of pressure on Motte tomorrow.
-
The tournament wins in 1997 and 2010-2012 (amongst others as well, but those in particular) were some of the most memorable moments of my Sioux fan 'career.' Would be nice to see banners for each of them as they were all special.
-
I suppose because the regular season is more of a showing of season-long excellence while the tournament (excluding the first-round) is a one-weekend event. That being said, if it were up to me, UND would be hoisting individual banners for playoff titles too.
-
Plenty of players on this year's Ferris team were on that 2012 team...UND has a great opportunity on the schedule tomorrow.
-
Take a look around REA...there are banners for each MacNaughton Cup team...there is ONE banner for all of the Broadmoor Trophy teams. I agree...one down today, one to go tomorrow. Then two more in Philadelphia.

http://www.bigten.org/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/031414aaa.html The Big Ten champions of 2013-2014 are the Minnesota Gophers. The Big Ten tournament champions of 2014 are the Wisconsin Badgers.
-
2012 CCHA champions...2012 NCAA runner-up...2014 WCHA champions...this team is no slouch.
-
Ferris hasn't gotten 29 wins this season by luck...
-
That doesn't matter...if UND loses tomorrow, a "fire Hak" thread will be started quicker than you can say "gfhockey."
-
I watched PC play badly last weekend in the HE playoffs...I had a hunch Gillies would play better today and that PC would be fired up for its NCAA tournament game.
-
Exactly.
