The flaw is that there is no consideration for getting hot late in the season as compared with a team firing on all cylinders before Christmas. I would think being a Gopher fan, you'd be plenty familiar with leading the hockey world in being the #1 team in the country in October...only to see that come screeching to a halt come March...

Congrats to NDSU on their first-ever NCAA tournament win - let's hope UND can do the same soon - next year would be great.

That's an indictment of the system, not Michigan. I think it was 2004 or 2005 when Mankato got on a roll while SCSU went into a tailspin...Huskies still got into the tournament and got spanked by Maine 6 or 7 to 0 while the Mavericks sat home watching.

I'll again point out the fatal flaw of the pairwise...Michigan will get credit for peeling off 10 wins before their Thanksgiving dinner had settled in their stomachs whereas their record over the past FOUR MONTHS is a much better indicator of what the Wolverines really are...and that's mediocre. I know you were...my post yesterday was over in UND vs Miami Friday thread...I can't multiquote over here on my iphone though. Now 9-12-3 since December 1st. If THAT record is NCAA tournament-worthy, I''ll wear a Gopher jersey to the Hogg in March 2015.
