  1. Agree 100%. For the record, Dagger, I did tune in to both the NDSU/IPFW and UND/Weber State games.
  2. Spare me, please. Not that I need to justify myself to you, but I will anyways...grew up in SW North Dakota...dad and two sisters attended NDSU and I attended UND. As a kid, I watched the '83, '85, and '86 football championship games on TV with my dad. Also watched the snow-bowl game against UND. Cried when Troy State kicked a field goal with no time remaining to beat the Bison in the '84 championship game. Wound up in Grand Forks at college and attended more than my share of women's and men's basketball games. And boo'd the hell out of NDSU when they came to town - regardless of the sport. Just because I'm not a total green-and-white homer doesn't make me a Bison fan. And just because I don't toe the party line that fellow comrades here spew out about the state of NDSU football and men's basketball compared with UND doesn't make me a fan of Fargo or the Bison at all. But you've got to be kidding yourself if you or others think UND men's basketball had the more successful season compared with NDSU based on one rivalry game.
  3. Gonna get skewered for this but anyone still want to claim the Summit is an especially bad conference compared to the Big Sky? I realize injuries were a big factor in the Omaha game, but North Dakota got absolutely worked by the 6th place Summit team. Stunned Bison fans haven't been over here already to point that out.
  4. I think the 1998 Final Five had TREMENDOUS representation from Badger fans...that's the last one I can recall where the arena was a sea of red. Of course, that arena was the Bradley Center in Milwaukee...
  5. Dislike x 100. '97 Frozen Four reception at the hotel after the win over BU...the players walk in...one guy blurts out "SIOUX YEA YEA" and the hundreds of fans crammed into the welcoming room all replied back "YEA SIOUX SIOUX". The players were grinning ear to ear...gave Peter Armbrust a high five...yea...the era before knuckle bumps.
  6. First HALF? That's the last four months of the season! Throw out that 5-0 start and the 5 November wins that included Michigan Tech (2), Nebraska Omaha, Niagara, and Ohio State and what do you have? MEDIOCRE! The flaw of the pairwise is that no consideration is given for being hot recently. I'm glad you give Michigan so much credit for how well they were playing 5-6 months ago. The Wolverines are who I think they are!' 17-5-1 since December 1st 9-11-3 since December 1st Pairwise notwithstanding, who would YOU rather be, assuming both teams were going to make the NCAA's?
  7. Agree on the spelling chants save for MTU fans spelling out "technological". Pure awesomeness.
  8. Split with Alaska-Anchorage - winning by one goal...beat Northern Michigan by a goal and tied Lake Superior State...split with Miami...beat Alabama-Huntsville by one goal...beat CC in OT...got rolled by BC and BU... Yea...those Badgers would have steamrolled the NCHC... Go Sioux! Beat Miami!
  9. Picked that comment to reply to but missed my post about Michigan's performance over the past four months? Nice.
  10. The owners asked me if Mr and Mrs Siouxman were coming again this year. When told "yes," they let me know that extra security would be provided for this event.
  11. The Sioux won't play as tentative as St Cloud did against Miami. The Huskies looked like a team not fond of being the #1 seed.
  12. Barry Melrose's pick to win the 2013 Frozen Four...promptly taken out behind the woodshed by UMass-Lowell 6-0. They looked like the Burnsville Squirt C team out there against the River Hawks.
  13. 9-11-3 since December 1st. That's mediocre.
  14. C'mon...Penn State is awful so you're down to five. Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State are mediocre at best. Now you're down to Wisconsin and Minnesota
  15. BC swept by Minnesota? Further evidence how shoot-outs perpetuate the myth of victory if you win it and tie if you lose it.
  16. Nobody of significance but 27-9-3 is a heckofa record.
  17. Sorry, ericpnelson, if the best that UND students can do is chant "F*** the Gophers" loud enough to be CLEARLY heard on my TV set, I'm all in favor of students getting tossed. The "Kyle Rau beats seals" sign, however, brilliant.
  18. No worries, Redneksioux - estimate is between 35 and 50 people - hope to see you and your group there.
  19. Speaking of SiouxSports.com winter hats...I'm thinking YaneA might have a few she'd be willing to sell fairly cheap...as long as you don't mind the personalized "YaneA" on the back - nothing a little permanent marker couldn't cure on the black hats.
  20. Which reminds me as I have been asked in the past...yes, this is a kid-friendly event.
  21. He wasn't - he was just the only one who chose to comment on it. I said anyone was welcome to attend and I still mean that. But if you're going to show up with a posse of loud-mouth drunks still celebrating St Patrick's Day, you're probably not going to feel at home with this bunch.
  22. Just so there is no confusion...this event is SATURDAY the 22nd from 11am to 2pm at the Hoggsbreath in Little Canada. The Hogg serves breakfast all day as well as great burgers and lots of other food. Drinks are available as well - from pop to beer and mixed drinks. There will be some give-away items, some free raffle items, some items available for purchase, and maybe even another jersey raffle. Walk-ins welcome...I expect to be there around 10am to get things set up - come anytime after that. Orders for food will start right at 11am and we'll do introductions, stories, etc shortly thereafter. Don't miss it this year - or you'll hear about it from friends who were there. Remember how you felt when you saw someone wearing a SiouxSports.com hat and thought "damn...I shoulda gotten one of those." Yea...it'll be just like that...a second kick in the gut.
