  1. fightingsioux4life...is this loud enough for you yet?
  2. President Obama is on-record as saying that the Redskins should change their name...why is he silent regarding the Blackhawks?
  3. ..and here we go again... I hate you infinity because I hate the Penguins. Oh yea? Well I hate you back infinity + 1 because I hate the Bruins.
  4. In what context of the word did you mean "spirit," Ray77? I hope it wasn't Native-American related...
  5. Well, yea, that's why it'll never happen, right? Right?
  6. I apologize if my post came off like a fire-back comment at you specifically. I certainly understand the "rationale" used by the Ninth Circuit Court in applying the rights of high school administrators, but that still doesn't explain the lunacy of their decision. If my frustration seemed directed at you, it wasn't. This issue really has me fired up. Nevermind the dumb-a** decision to come up with these t-shirts, these young people don't need to be "outed," have their houses egged, tires slit, or receive death threats. Mob rule has come to roost in the US, apparently. Don't agree with the mob...then get out. Keep in mind, we're not talking about a "college" setting here with respect to Indian-head or Sioux logos being worn by fans. If I don't want you in my fraternity, I don't have to let you in. If I don't want you patronizing my business, I can ask you to leave. Similarly, if the folks at REA (due to pressure from outside sources, INCLUDING the University of North Dakota) decide that it's simply a firecracker waiting to explode if they let fans wearing SIoux jerseys in the building, why is it so unrealistic to believe that they won't impose such a policy excluding such items of clothing from being worn in the first place?
  7. I think Rush is such a polarizing figure that there was little doubt he'd fail miserably as a commentator. It was obvious that essentially none of the crew even wanted him on the set. Not to mention that he wasn't exactly cut out for the sports gig...
  8. Oh, that's right. We can't have kids in Mexican gangs threatening them and starting fights, so if we just ban the colors of the US on a select day, there should be no problems at all. The founding fathers must be turning over in their graves...then again, they probably have been for quite some time.
  9. You're missing the point, Goon. It doesn't matter that Oxbow6 typed the word 'stupid.' I want an apology from you. And if you don't give me one, I'm going to stage a protest walk until CMSioux is suspended from his job.
  10. Hey, "stupid" is a not-so-nice word. I demand an apology...from Goon.
  11. Good luck...ESPN may as well be MSNBC2 at this point in its reporting...
  12. There's the "out"...they "appeared to be" taken there. Oh wait, they weren't taken there? Cue the page 17 one-sentence correction typed in a font size about like this seven weeks from now...
  13. While I'd like to say you're right, I think you under-estimate the extreme PC zealots of this country who seek to "fundamentally change" it. Sounds familiar...but I just can't put my finger on where I've heard that expression before...
  14. Yes, let's wait and see if something happens, then when the hammer drops, we'll try to get UND to back-pedal.
  15. Oh, come on, Oxbow6, if this kid were Amish, I'm sure the same exemption would have been granted... Yea...that's sarcasm. We all know that that Amish kid would be shaving his beard quicker than you can say "Norelco."
  16. ...and one of the greatest football helmets of all time...the USFL's Oklahoma (and then Arizona) Outlaws... http://www.mghelmets.com/usfl.html
  17. I actually saw Findlay play at REA in the early 2000's before they dropped hockey.
  18. And until 2004, the last sighting of a wolverine in Michigan was in the early 1800's...before Michigan was even a STATE! It's the University of North Dakota...not the University of Grand Forks. http://www.foundmich...last-wolverine/ EDIT: Someone already beat me to the UND-not-UGF line...
  19. I was kind-of pulling for the Rangers but by the time game 7 rolled around, I wanted Vancouver to win.
  20. Maybe you guys are right...they couldn't POSSIBLY ban the wearing of Sioux hockey jerseys on campus or in REA. Next thing you know, you'll be telling me that kids in the US can't wear clothing with the American flag on it in AMERICAN schools...we all know that that's simply not going to happen ever, right? http://www.nationalr...-andrew-johnson
  21. An NFL player just essentially got tossed from his team for a two-word tweet regarding the NFL draft. "Inappropriate"? "Racist?" Who determines that? Who do you think, Oxbow6? The academic "elite" who are here to enlighten all of us. If that doesn't work, I'm sure somewhere down the road, re-education camps will help do the job. http://www.infowars.com/sean-penn-obama-should-issue-executive-order-committing-ted-cruz-to-mental-institution/ These types of people really do exist...and they're essentially half of the US population...
  22. I agree with you on Vancouver...that was a great organization in the early to mid 1990's...it's gone to hell in a handbasket since then.
  23. http://www.thecrimso...s-at-dartmouth/ It wouldn't be unprecedented, jdub27...The daughter of a friend of mine attends Dartmouth...you wouldn't DARE wear an old-logo sweater or t-shirt on campus there...
  24. http://stanfordreview.org/article/stanford-indian-controversy-returns/ http://www.bluecorncomics.com/stype619.htm http://nativeappropriations.com/category/stanford-indian Yes, I do. Those who wear such "offensive" shirts, sweatshirts, and jerseys will be hounded by people who want this image essentially banned from being seen anywhere on campus. If OKCupid.com can bring about the demise of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich over a $1,000 donation to a group opposed to gay marriage in California, I believe ANYTHING is possible.
  25. And how did they use the geometric logo recently by making "historical gear"? Oh yea, that's right...by selling about a dozen grey t-shirts at REA with the old-school logo on them for about forty bucks apiece. Nobody says they have to order 15,000 shirts...
