The crux of the "ZOMGHOCKEYGETONBOARD!" group seems to be that flag on the ice last spring. It looks to me like it was signed by FANS and was probably tossed on the ice by them. I doubt that it was stashed on the bench as a "gotcha" moment when the game ended.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that had UND football been an 8-time FCS football champion as "Fighting Sioux," there may have been some resistance in the football crowd to re-branding as "Fighting Hawks" as well.

FIGHTING arched above the number on the front and HAWKS underneath it on the home jerseys. NORTH and DAKOTA replacing that on the green roads. Green shoulder yokes at home, white for the roadies. Lace-up collar. I'm on it!

I don't mind the idea of branding "North Dakota Hockey" as opposed to trying to differentiate ourselves from the Redhawks and River Hawks in a 60-some team college hockey universe. That being said, get rid of the interlocking ND and use that awesome new font. Put the logo on the jerseys - shoulders on a couple and on the front of the third jersey.

The day someone breaks Gretzky's goal-scoring record by netting a 3x3 OT goal will be a dark day in NHL history.

Am I alone in wishing that "Vegas" actually went with the ciry name of "Las Vegas" instead? It's as dumb as "Sens" or "Bolts" on the Ottawa and Tampa Bay jerseys.
