It's rare for a college coach to jump right to the NHL...and the jury is still out on the Hakstol experiment.
-
He'd be a fool to leave DU now. Hak's got about a year left in Philly before he's run out of town.
-
Well, in his defense, "Maxie" was handed a sheet of paper with some notes on it. He had no clue there was a hockey game going on tonight. And, yes, the other folks on set actually call him that.

I think Maine could offer Jim Montgomery a million dollars a year to come to Alfond Arena to coach...and he'd say "nope."
-
Way to go, Denver!
-
Congrats to Denver...nice to see Hammond able to get on the ice too.
-
"And we f***in' won!"

Denver playing with fire

All UMD since the injury
-
The Hammond injury has really affected Denver.
-
No call on the DU player being dragged down behind the net?
-
That's not good. UMD player helped him down to the ice by pulling him on the shoulder.

One last shot at a recruiting trip to Finland, eh?

His oldest son is a freshman at Hermantown.

Harvard absolutely embarrassed BU in the Beanpot...and Penn State put 10 up against Union. Lots of teams had a chance to get this far, but to call UND the 3rd best team in the country based on their last four games is a bit of a stretch.
-
Raskob questioning what he just did LOL.
-
It took a perfect game to beat Denver too...a game NoDak HAD to win and one Denver just didn't want anybody to get hurt in.
-
And Harvard was playing well...and UMass-Lowell was playing well...and Penn State was playing well...
-
It could easly be BU against Denver too. Sorry, but UND was nowhere near being consistently the 3rd best team in the country this year.

Finland beat Germany 8-0 in the bronze medal game. The upset vs Canada was in pool play, which Canada sleep-walks thru anyways. Germany was outscored 19-0 in the semi-final game and bronze medal game. https://www.google.com/amp/amp.timeinc.net/si/nhl/2017/04/04/womens-world-championship-finland-germany-gap%3Fsource%3Ddam Closing the gap? The opening statement in this article is a joke, right? If 11-0 and 8-0 medal-round games are your idea of "closing the gap," sure, I guess. But if this tournament is somehow supposed to make me interested enough to tune in to watch Russia va Canada or Switzerland vs USA in next year's Olympic pool play, no thanks. I might watch the gold medal game...if I don't have to shovel snow that day.
-
Wait, what? So who did the US beat last night, Slovenia?
-
You lost me with this comparison...

USA semi-final: 11-0 over Germany Canada semi-final: 4-0 over Finland I'm going to revamp my original tournament idea. Let's get rid of Sweden and Finland and just have the USA and Canada play a best-of-three to decide who will wear the home whites in the gold medal game.
