After the run in the regular season, conference tournament and the respectable game against Arizona, I also agree with your post. He seems to have this team playing unlike past years and even the beginning of this year. I want to see how this squad does not only next season but in the beginning of our Summit League era. 3 years plus $$$ and boost the assistant pay so they stay. Use this season as a stepping stone to many more dance trips.

Because of the opponent. Losing to Arizona is one thing but losing to the Coyotes is another. It was nice to capture another conference title but a win in the postseason would be nice. Hope to see them in a dance run next season.

I was waiting for them to mention how UND was the Fighting Sioux and how the Hawks name is new, but nothing. It's in the past like Stanford was the Indians and Marquette was the Warriors. Last night it was all about being the Fighting Hawks.

If anytime is the right time for Jones to get his first win against a ranked team tonight would be perfect. Fighting Hawks upset Arizona, advance to the second round. That would be a great headline Friday morning in the Grand Forks Herald.

And remember that special nickname clause...if approved UND keeps the nickname until the tribe (or tribes) decided to change their mind then the name would be taken away. I'm so glad that issue is dead, and we are away from the nickname mess except for those chanting Go Sioux or Sioux forever. At least the NCAA can't do anything about that. (See Marquette)

Nope. I like it. The name and logo grew on me. The Sioux name and logo are gone so this is a better replacement than the interlocking ND and no nickname choice. Been there done that with GFC.

Its not the logo of the school, the Fighting Hawk is the logo of the school. I feel good about wearing the Hawk logo and many more are too. Wait til the hockey jerseys come out. I hope it has a big huge Hawk on the front and little Hawks on the shoulders.

Why are so sure? Were you in the meeting? Did you get a memo about the meeting? You seem to know a lot about this so-called mandatory meeting, so please share with everyone.

Whether or not its just a "sports radio show" in Minneapolis or not, any way they can to advertise UND's men's basketball is always a plus. Everyone in that area knows about UND hockey, that speaks for itself, UND football is getting there with attendance increase and increase marketing. You have UND basketball in the big dance, your recruiting base is centered in the cities. You are going against numerous other colleges for good kids. Why not promote what you have. Either hold off on the meeting or like others said, send someone else to do the interview. You don't completely blow off free marketing.

I hope to see what Coach Jones can do with a new conference, new (old) rivals, and a new group of guys cutting the nets down in Sioux Falls.

We just don't know what lies ahead. Which Jones will show up next season 8 win Jones or 23 win Jones. I really hope the 8 win Jones stays in the past forever and we see a lot more 20+ wins. Of course we are moving to the SL in 2018 so our wins automatically decrease with the powerful Bison, Coyotes, Jacks and the alphabet soup gang. Lol!
