What happens if we play them in the playoffs? A forfeit by Wisconsin or Minnesota?
-
All I heard from (mostly Bison fans) is how horrible we are against FCS teams, and all we can beat is the DII and below teams. 6-5 is pretty good through 3 years of DI scheduling. Thats why I think UND football isn't failing although I did have my doubts since it seems like all we play is D2 teams, but beating Idaho St, and Central Arkansas on the road are good signs that we can still be competitive with a D2 roster. And although going 3-8 this team is far from the dumps. We will see where our DI roster takes us, as for Bison Dan you can slam this team all you want, but all we heard is how great the Bison transition was and how that #1 ranking was, well the SOS speaks for itself. VS FBS Teams teams in parenthsis are teams with best record played) NDSU 4-3 (Central Michigan 8-6) won 44-14 USD 1-1 (UCF 11-3) lost 38-7 UND 0-3 (Northern Illinois 11-3) lost 23-17 SDSU 0-3 (Nebraska 10-4) lost 17-3 Pretty respectable by UND, and SDSU FBS SOS: UND .650 USD .538 SDSU .462 NDSU .391

I'm bored with football offseason, so I decided to crunch some numbers. UND's records from 2008-2010 along with the other 3 Dakota teams (SU's from 2004-2006). Something interesting came about who says UND is failing at their transition. UND vs FCS OOC 6-5 NDSU vs FCS OOC 11-2 SDSU vs FCS OOC 5-7 USD vs FCS OOC 3-9 UND vs Div 3-8 NDSU vs Div 9-5 SDSU vs Div 8-6 USD vs Div 4-7 UND vs FBS 0-3 NDSU vs FBS 1-1 SDSU vs FBS 0-0 USD vs FBS 1-1 UND vs non DI teams 6-1 NDSU vs non DI teams 4-0 SDSU vs non DI teams 6-1 USD vs non DI teams 7-0 Total 15-17 Total 25-8 Total 19-14 Total 15-17 UND and NDSU are the only teams with winning records vs OOC FCS teams. SDSU did not face a FBS team UND and SDSU only teams to lose to a D2/D3/NAIA team SDSU's first FBS game....2008!!!! What does 2011 hold for UND? In 2007 NDSU went 10-1, SDSU went 7-4.

I lost so much interest in (Pro) hockey after 1996 when Winnipeg moved to Phoenix. I tried to follow the Wild but it wasn't the same so I pray the Jets will be re-born!!!! GO JETS!!!!!

What's the chances we can play at Eastern Washington and at Boise State in the same year.
-
Texas Tech, Idaho (twice), N. Illinois, Fresno St, San Diego State, Wyoming....our FBS teams in the past, present, and now near future. What teams should we schedule in the future. Big name schools for the ESPN ticker, or one thats close to our recruiting base which I think is more out west. Or the winnable FBS teams (also known by some on here as the NDSU route). IMO I would love to see UND vs Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, UNLV, Washington or Washington St.. More closer to home than winnable which won't happen with most of these teams I listed. But I don't see us playing Miami (FL), Virginia Tech, Florida State.

Living here in Bisonville its amazing to see the number of Sioux gear being worn around town. I went into Dominos Pizza to get my pizza and a guy saw my Fighting Sioux jacket with the logo on the back of it, and started telling me how angry he was that UND was going to retire the name (this was before the State law was in the house and senate yet). Also at West Acres and Target lots of Sioux fans out there!! I actually wore my Sioux jacket to a Bison-Oakland bball game last year at the BSA(my son wanted to go to his first bball game). I wore it proud.

I live 6 blocks from the river. I was a resident of Grand Forks before 1999 so I lost a lot of things in the flood of 1997. Yes I am tired of this flooding but if you are so wound up that you can't take a simple joke about sandbags then you have major issues that need counciling. I did not make a joke about people's houses going under; I did not make fun of someone's city getting flooded. I made fun of filling an empty arena with sandbags belonging to Grand Forks' rival city. But Fargo does need a place to store sandbags because of the political crap circling around a diversion, that IMO won't take place because every farmer and every little townsperson is so dead set against it.
-
Unless UND ends up with a better record than NDSU then GT will come up with another excuse.
-
Holy crap!!! It was a joke. Take a pill.
-
Unless Fargo gets a diversion (by that time the city would have been flooded a million times) or a giant flood wall (which won't happen) it may be a reality. People here are tired of sandbagging every damn year, and that river seems to get higher and higher.
-
A place to house Fargo's sandbags.

Funny to hear Bison fans rip on UND for losing 45-0 to Idaho and go 3-8. Don't they know new season, new team. But I guess only them can go 3-8 one year and playoffs the next but UND could not go 3-8 and turn it around. Typical crap from Moo U.

I am messing with their minds. My oldest son (9) likes the Bison but went to the Potato Bowl game last year, and wears a Sioux shirt. He doesn't understand the Sioux-Bison rivalry. My other son (4) he cheers for the Bison if his big brother does but he will wear Sioux gear. My daughter (1) wore a Sioux cheerleader outfit I bought for her. So its funny around here with the Go Bison mentality by my wife but me and my kids wearing Sioux gear. My neighbor across the street is a huge Bison fan with a van that says Thundering Herd and Bison1 on the plates and my next door neighbor puts out his Bison flag on gameday. I told my wife I need a big Sioux flag for the front yard. She didn't like the idea.

My kids were the biggest reason I haven't been to a road game since I saw NDSU beat UND in the Fargodome only because I live here. The UND @ Bemidji State game was a blast the visitor side was so full there were Sioux fans on the home side. Plus a great atmosphere with the stadium on the lake plus only a 2 hr drive from Grand Forks. The Portland State and Cheney game I may attend I was thinking of flying due to kids have school so I am saving my pennies. Plus having a wife thats a die hard Bison fan (although she doesn't mind Sioux hockey) makes it a tough sell.
-
I remember cheering for Tommie Frazier, Lawrence Phillips(before his bust in the NFL), Ahman Green, and Trev Alberts (before he took over UNO and crushed that program). 1 Bison fan over on BVille thinks because they beat KU they can crush Nebraska....yeah right.
-
Not gonna happen once we hit the H&A list.
-
K-State went 7-6 last year with a bowl game. 2003 was the last good Wildcat team at 11-4 losing the Fiesta Bowl to Ohio State other than that 3 winning seasons since 2003 makes it a pretty winnable game for NDSU.

When I lived in Grand Forks (1976-1999) I went to UND hockey, football and basketball (M & W). I never thought much of Sioux baseball but since they have redone Kraft field since 1996 when the GF Varmints was there I think Sioux baseball would be fun (never understood the aluminum bats). I am going to try out something different for me that is road games. I have been to 2 road Sioux football games ( NDSU and Bemidji State). I am hoping to go to Eastern Washington next year, and Portland State in 2013. I think the more Sioux sports people go to the bigger the fan you get. Its hard for me right now to go as my kids are so young but they are growing up so the road games become more of a reality, as for your point Ole on the FBS games, KU, K-State, and Nebraska looks like GT is testing out the Big 12 region (I know NU is now Big 10) and Faison is all over the south and west with TT, Fresno St, SDSU, Wyoming, Idaho. NIU was a change, and I would like to see more midwest FBS teams like Nebraska, maybe a Missouri (Mizzu), But you go where your recruiting area is.
-
I would love to take in a Sioux basketball game. I have never been to the BESC. My last Sioux basketball game was probably a Sioux-Bison game in the late 90's.
-
Just heard over on Bisonville that NDSU is trying to get a game at Nebraska for 2015. I don't care who you are that is huge!! I love the Cornhuskers ever since the 80's and hope to attend that one. I will be the only one in my family wearing Red as the others will be in their Bison gear. But SDSU played NU last season, now NDSU...I would like to tell Brian Faison to get a game with the Huskers. Great atmosphere and its a nice drive down I-29.

I was on the fence of going but I think price and plus a 6pm game time may be a little late as we would trek back to Fargo after 9pm. I still miss the old parade down University Ave towards the stadium then a 1:30pm game...it was classic.
-
Because I am bored with no football time to plan ahead. Sept 24th is the Potato Bowl. My kids went to the parade for the first time last year and loved it, we then took my oldest son to the game against NE Oklahoma and he enjoyed the game this year I don't think we will attend the game which is 6pm against Black Hills State. The tailgating before the game was great but the price of the game and the team is a real turnoff for me so just curious whose going to the game? Also did anyone go to the french fry feed last year? And was it as good as previous years? I haven't been to one since Roger Thomas was coaching the Sioux.

Any chance Phil could coach UND??
