There is no way the NCAA will modify the policy. They will stick with the original settlement and policy. Talking to the NCAA IMO is a waste of time. They should be overturning that state law NOW!!

Thats why Grant Shaft, and Mac Schneider is trying to speed things along while Al Carlson is pissing around wasting time (being in Florida for some republican conference)....(remember he hasn't read the BSC letter to Kelley yet).

Can you blame Hak?? He may not have an arena for his team to play in if the REA changes, so of course he would be vocal about the bill. But if he had to choose between losing a name or sports he would say goodbye to the name and I think the REA is going to feel the same way. Without Sioux hockey what good is the REA (besides holding concerts and GFRR and GFC hockey).

Does anyone know when the FCS schedule comes out for the upcoming season?? I am interested on what Sioux football games will be televised with 3 NAIA games, Drake, USD, and Cal Poly at home.

Hak is not going anywhere and neither is Roebuck. Those 2 guys have been the most vocal on the Sioux name out of the coaches of the major sports. If they fire them based on opinion only then there are major problems at UND.

Its funny to see the responces on Bville about Lakes's charge around the Big Sky message boards. They are embarrassed because he sounds like a fool. Not everyone at NDSU want UND to fail but you have some that wish UND would that way they have the monopoly in Division I sports.

Well you have Al who hasn't read the BSC letter to UND and who is totally clueless, you have Doug Fullerton telling UND you may get booted for your name, but we may gain a bunch more teams to have a 20 some conference with FCS and FBS teams, and you have Robert Kelley and well Bob is Bob. Everyone knows what his position on all this is. I think the only one with a clue on everything is Grant Shaft and Mac Schneider.

This is why Grant Shaft and Al Carlson is trying to get a meeting ASAP with the NCAA that way they know their options and see what cards if any UND has. The Big Sky won't do anything until at least August 15th, thats when UND goes back onto the list. However if a deal with the NCAA can get that date pushed back towards the end of the year or maybe after a special session, BSC won't boot us before football season starts. IMO the NCAA would do this if they know that ND is working to get rid of this bill. Anything that goes the NCAA way they will oblidge.

Here is my thought back then, at first I didn't like it as I was accepting the retirement of the Sioux name, then listening to this bill I thought maybe its a way to get back at the NCAA I mean its a law and you cannot be forced to break it. But listening to Max Schneider and Connie Tripplet discussing why they are against voting for it, it didn't make sense then, BUT it makes a lot of sense now. They were ahead of the times discussing problems with scheduling (which we are seeing now with SDSU not wanting to play us after 2013), and the effect of the student athlete (which if we are barred from DI conferences it will effect them as we won't have sports). You sometimes go with what your heart says and not what your brain says. My heart said find a way to save the name I love the name its the best, but the brain says its time for the name to go.

This is better. Because Bison fans love it when something bad happens to UND and the media jumps on it whether we lose in the Frozen Four, lose to Sioux Falls, or possibly get kicked out of the Big Sky. It makes them feel better about themselves on someone else's mishaps....Its okay NDSU....what goes around comes around.
