Who outside of Fargo says you are a superior program? How many MVFC titles have you won? Is it because you can beat Robert Morris in the playoffs at home? Or is it because you beat Montana State. After this season we will see how superior you really are...remember 3-8 was just 2 years ago.

I read posts from Bison fans on AGS and on BVille when NDSU was ranked #1 in the polls during their GWFC years people were crying out for the NCAA to bend the rules and let them in the playoffs, then their first year of playoff eligibility they did...NOTHING! The second year...Nothing 3rd year ...Flopped (3-8), it took 4 years to finally make the playoffs and barely made it.

Tanked is a harsh word. Just because we aren't on top of the FCS doesn't mean our program has tanked it. We didn't go from the top of the DII world to the bottom of the FCS. We could be like NDSU and be ranked #1 in the polls, have all this hype then do nothing when playoffs are on the line (except last season). Nobody cares when you can't win the title (and not the GWFC title either). I don't know if UND would beat NDSU, and I don't know if NDSU would beat UND they don't play. Of course Sioux fans will say UND will win, and Bison fans will say NDSU will win. Anybody can beat anybody. Play the game then we'll talk.

If we did the NDSU way we would be playing Eastern Michigan or Western Kentucky every year.

So my post is correct if the rivalry was still in tact NDSU would've broken it because UND would be a road OOC game. Thank you for proving my point.

Even the FM Redhawks don't start til May. Its not like we will see our team go to Omaha unless you are talking hockey.

NDSU fans blame UND for breaking the rivalry. Scenario this: 2003-2004 the rivalry continues when NDSU moves to the Great West....then NDSU moves to the MVFC; Does NDSU continue the rivalry even though one of their OOC games every year would've been to DII UND?? Or would GT break the rivalry because NDSU wants 6 home games and an FBS game. So you could almost guarantee the rivalry would be broken sooner or later unless they were to be in the same conference.

That was before we had an invite to the Big Sky. Fielding 7 OOC games makes sense to have the game every year, BUT now we just need 3 OOC games like NDSU so I think UND's position has changed on a yearly game.

Far as I know we beat you the last time we played so I believe you are the patsy and we have the trophy to prove it...since its been a long time since you have seen it its a round nickel with an Indian on one side and a bison on the other.

However the Seminole tribes elsewhere (Okalahome I believe) are against the name...kinda like all these Sioux tribes of SD, NE, MT, etc against our nickname. But its okay since the closest Seminole tribe to the college okay'd it....sound familar (Spirit Lake).

Its funny how the MVFC fits their needs (recruiting, travel) but when they were in the GWFC the Big Sky was on their radar and they hated the idea of going to the Gateway(MVFC), then UNC went to the BSC and they got even more pissed. But I guess they can slam the Big Sky all they want, hurts my feelings none. I love our new conference.

UND did play MAC N. Illinois and almost won, maybe Kent State or E. Michigan could get us a win in the FBS, but look at Texas Tech...UND down by only 11 with the ball late. That would be as big as upset as the Michigan/App State game, because TT was a national title race contender the previous season.

And how many national titles has NDSU won since moving up to the FCS....Zero! They won 2 playoff games since becoming eligible. You have beaten Kansas and Minnesota both had what 4 wins total. You crushed Central Michigan thats like beating a high ranking FCS team. The MAC is not exactly the SEC. You were #1 ranked for awhile during a season in transition didn't matter you weren't playoff eligible. Yes we had an off year last season but NDSU did a 3-8 also. You laugh at our D2/NAIA teams well does Arkansas-Montecello ring a bell or Condordia-St. Paul. Yes even NDSU played down to teams too. UND is looking at the future as well, our first goal is something NDSU wanted but didn't get...The Big Sky. Now we can concentrate on our second goal....a playoff berth.

Just curious, will we or even NDSU see App St, or a Delaware, or a Richmond come to the Valley? Seems like we only get a Wagner or a Stony Brook but never the big boys of the FCS world.

I thought you were making a smartass remark I didn't think it was an actual question. My bad...sorry about that, but yes UND football is televised with Sioux hockey and basketball on Fox College Sports in conjunction with the Fighting Sioux Sports Network.

To them SDSU is their rival so they will outdraw UND. (lakesbison mentality)
