Not really. There was no said punishment if UND retired the name. It just said the AG will consider (not force) a lawsuit against the NCAA.

I too wish somehow or someway the NCAA will accept the Spirit Lake's blessing, but if they say "no" to the nickname then let it be done. Repeal the law immediately and restart the retirement. No more Al Carlson's hail mary passes that will just get intercepted, and no more talk about saving the name and killing our chances with the Big Sky and college athletics. Monday is the day we are to go on the H&A list and life could be hell if we are to stay on that list. Please end this either with a name saving decision or a name changing decision. Mussman said so far Goska is #1 on the depth chart. Is it because he is a senior. To me he seems more a scrambler/runner (Elway/Vick) and not much of a pure passer (Marino). I think we need a passer that can be more accurate than anything, instead of running around the field, because that just leaves to injuries and or turnovers. I would have liked to have Mussman come out and say all 3 QB's are #1 on the depth chart, they have equal reps with the #1 offense and then week by week find the worst out of the 3 have him work the #2 squad, and have the remaining 2 fight for the starting job. Just because Goska is a senior doesn't mean he's automatic, just like since Bradley is new with the squad doesn't mean he belongs on the bench.

The only way for UND to get state-wide television is if its on the ND ABC network. Since the FSSN is associated with WDAZ, and NDSU has the KVLY (NBC) network. But we do have Fox College Sports which is televised on satelite nationwide!

Our OOC schedule may be crap but remember we are still in transition. Look at our OOC in post-transition...Central Arkansas, Montana, South Dakota State, Valpo, Robert Morris (my crack was they finally saw a good team in the dome since the end of transition...a playoff team) so far. Look who NDSU had post transition... Austin Peay, Central Conn St, Sam Houston, Wagner, Morgan State, South Dakota, Lafayette, St. Francis through 2011. No FCS OOC team scheduled in 2012... Montana St in 2013, Montana and South Dakota in 2014, and no home FCS OOC game in 2015 scheduled.
