http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/358603/ So they critized the Capitol in Bismarck, the dome in Fargo....what's next?
-
Since the term Braves could mean either Native American or just a person being brave with no feathers or Indian mascot then the NCAA will allow them that. Just like we could be the Warriors like Golden State of the NBA but not have a NA logo or mascot as warrior has different meanings.
-
Maybe if SL would win I would think the NCAA would allow UND the nickname as long as SL's tribal council agrees to it, but if they don't let UND have permission to use it its gone. Kinda like the same deal they gave Central Michigan by using the closest tribe to the campus.
-
Wait a minute!!!!!!! It's not?
-
Is it safe to say that basically the settlement agreement is killing SL?
-
What was his response???
-
Fault of the OL?? Or is our pass rush that good.
-
Any word on attendance?
-
And they will keep doing it until Congress shuts the door on them. Which if they had a backbone would be soon.
-
I don't think the NCAA will settle out of court. They have the settlement in their back pocket, so unless there is some ruling that the settlement is not constitutional because they left the tribes out then it will be a solid win for the NCAA.

POLL: Should UND-NDSU Resume the Football Series?
darell1976 replied to ShilohSioux's topic in Football
Actually that USD game may be a non-conference game. Just like our game next year against Montana is a non-conference game. If the MVFC schedule isn't out most likely that USD game is NOT a conference game. -
Lucky there is no big stadiums in western ND for UND or NDSU to play a game in Minot or Bismarck. Maybe next year USD will play a game in Rapid City on their state tour.

Or will he wait until June...13th?

UND has big $$$ alums, plus Altru is associated with the Mayo Clinic...how does Mayo Field at Memorial Stadium sound?
-
I just hope the Sioux offense sees a lot of the North Dakota words than the blank 50 yard line. Just give it a decade (contract is up) then UND can move back to Memorial Stadium.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Wood_Field Howard Wood Field is a stadium in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, constructed in 1957.[1] Holding 10,000 people, it is one of the premier American football and track facilities in the region. Field turf was installed to replace the natural grass after a renovation project in 2003.[2]

USD is playing NDSU in Sioux Falls....would UND ever play a game at a neutral site? Like UND vs Montana in Minot, or something like that. Does it even make sense?? I would think USD would be losing money on this game.

My son has a field trip at the courthouse today but too bad he will be gone by the time it starts.

Anyone know what time the case starts in Fargo?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wcXMg_qdEU&feature=relmfu This is what I watched on tv from my brother's apartment. And I thought Central was going to catch fire.

http://www.grandforksherald.com/even...cle/id/234785/ A piece of history that I would love to forget it ever happened. The worst times of my life. I was a refugee at my brother's apartment in Richfield, MN (suburb of Minneapolis) for a month while this went on as I was not allowed to stay in Grand Forks. My parents were evacuated as they had 45 minutes to leave their home and head to Emerado, ND (near the GF AFB). Their home (and mine to as I was still living at home) ended up with over 5 feet of water in the basement while my best friend lost his whole neighborhood in East Grand Forks...and as the article said just weeks before me and him attended the National Title game of UND's women's basketball team their first ever title. The wierdest feeling was when i returned to help clean up I was driving down University Ave. in the heart of UND and not seeing one single person or car, just empty. It was tough cleaning up the mud, soaked remains of my childhood, my mom's wedding dress, and old pictures that my parents kept in their basement. I thought the drinking water from cans (thanks Salvation Army/Red Cross and donations) was bad but driving down the street to use a porta potty because GF had no sewage was worse. I just hope no city ever has to go through this mess....ever!!!

That would be impossible. I will be emotional when I vote to retire the name. I know what it means to vote yes, but its still a part of me. I grew up being a Fighting Sioux fan and would love nothing for UND to keep the name, but since the NCAA took the knife and stabbed every Sioux fan in the heart in 2005 I know there is nothing I can do to keep the name that will NOT hurt the school overall. Emotions will run high, people will vote No thinking that in some way its sticking it to the NCAA when in reality they are sticking it to the UND athletic department. So when you go to the polls in June do this....get your ballot, go to a spot, read the first question, take a deep breath, and vote YES, then when you are done with that go to measure #2 (the elimination of property taxes), and etc. hand it in, and know you just saved the University of North Dakota from death.

I don't really care who wins, I just hope there are no injuries as we need these people in less than 5 months.
-
So if SL would have gave the NCAA permission for UND to use the name and logo in 06 like the above says then we wouldn't be in this boat. Thanks SL for coming to the table....LATE!
