GO GREEN WAVE!!!!!!! -
Watch the domino effect within the next few months (including the Summit).
-
So if the Redskins got rid of the name....could they bring it back during the times NFL teams do throwback games.
-
Last year Montana vs Weber St champ game had 7,042 in Missoula.
-
They could have it in Central's gym. It doesn't matter as long as its in Grand Forks.
-
If and when UND hosts the tournament what venue would be used? Betty, Ralph, or Alerus?
-
Anything can happen, and if they are throwing around the SU's with other teams, you never know. We never thought we would be in the Big Sky right out of the Great West.
-
Correct. The SL is in trouble in not only losing an AQ in baseball, but in all sports as well.

I think this flood will justify putting up a permanent flood wall on 2nd street in front of city hall despite opposition from the sidestreet pub at the Howard Johnson. If the river hits 30 feet they have to close the street and spend time and money making a dike on the road, where they could just move the road over, take out the bar, and save money in the long run.
-
Which is good but the SWE is over 2" and that is never good, especially with these late snow storms. Our SWE is almost near 2009 however its not as widespread as in 09 so that's good for overland flooding, plus the river started out (late fall/early winter) roughly 4 feet below flood stage compared to at flood stage in 09. Lets all hope for the best.

3 PEAT!!! Only this time no CIT....its Dance Time!!
-
Their reaction would be....who cares about the Summit as long as we have football.
-
That's got me a little concerned is all these snowstorms which would be no big deal in January as it would have little precip in it due to cold air but temps in the 20's to almost 30 is going to add a lot of water so these 5-6 inch storms could really increase the flood chances. Our snow water equivalency is at 2.21" which is quite a bit.

Here is a topic that was gladly missed last year....flooding. The ugly F word is back. Here in Fargo our river is at 14.22 (pretty much frozen). Flood stage is 18ft (meaning the closure of Elm Street south of 15th Ave N, so no big deal). Without a diversion, they have been buying out houses, building flood walls here and there, but the city is still vulnerable. We have a 70% chance of 31ft meaning diking up 2nd Ave downtown with sandbags (yes that word gets to enter everyone's vocabulary again). But with these late storms having more water in them, and snowfall piling up..its getting a little on the worry side. I hope everyone is prepared for what could be a surprise flood. Just because we had a drought over the summer doesn't mean this fight won't happen. Be prepared and be safe. Flood prediction for Fargo: http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/period.php?wfo=fgf&gage=fgon8

As full members as their only option maybe but I think they would go if the football team could remain in the MVFC.

losing 21-0 really put a chill in the air.

UND 3-8 vs SDSU 5-6, and with UND still a DII transfer it wasn't the greatest show in Brookings. But when you have 2 teams playing for a playoff berth, and with the game earlier in the season (due to conference play) I think the crowd will be a lot bigger.
-
And we did see that this past season. Attendance did grow, not sellout type crowds but with the playoffs in our future instead of just a conference title the excitement is growing (although slowly) and if UND can knock off Valpo, SDSU, and the Montanas, go 4-0 before the bye week that excitement should grow even more. As for the UND-BSU game in 1995. That atmosphere with the lake beyond the endzone was a sight I have never seen before. Beautiful campus, and of course the butt-kicking was great.
-
Besides the Fargodome I have been to one road game and it was Bemdiji State (1995 63-0). The entire away stands (where I sat) and half of the home stands were packed with UND fans. If its only 100 miles away or within a few hours then UND fans should have no problem attending away games.
-
Although could you imagine the sh-t storm of some schools if Oakland did get into the MVC?
-
I heard Oral Roberts being a Creighton replacement. I guess we will just have to sit back grab the popcorn and enjoy the show.
-
But we aren't a major conference. The Big Sky has a unique deal going on...television. Television = money. Why would you leave that for a conference that doesn't have that (Summit). The Big 10 isn't losing members they are gaining members, just like the Big Sky. Bigger may or may not be better but it is working out. No conference worries at this school (baseball was finally worked out). Yes strange thing has happened...like the Big Sky inviting UND and USD to join.
-
Depends on tickets available. But each of their stadiums would be packed.
-
Such a turnaround from last year where UND was 0 for the century on the road until one of the last road games of the regular season.
