Are you talking about moving NDSU into the BSC for all sports or Olympic sports? No way FU would move from the MVFC. Adding FU for Olympic sports would be good for the BSC that way they could split into divisions now that Idaho is back.

And with UND baseball in the WAC there is no more conference hunting. As for Dakota Big 3 (as JBB) would call them...let the speculation of where to end up next continue.

Fargo has a snow depth of 10 inches. My yard still has a lot of snow on it. NDSU did what they could to get the players on the field for practice. UND dropped the ball on clearing out Memorial Stadium.

Plus NDSU isn't actually killing their tournament...one championship in 5 tries. So add that plus location plus facility equals Slummit League.

I think UND would get a WAC invite over a MVC invite. No way do we even look attractive to any school in that (MVC) conference. Let's not kid ourselves. NDSU is still pinning hopes of a conference move on the SHAC, but by just saying "we are close" and "only 2 million more dollars" is NOT what the conference wants to hear, they want to hear " doors open on the new facility on "this" date, and NDSU is "xx wins and xx losses in the new building". NDSU being in the MVFC, and by putting football in front of anything else is not going to get them into the MVC quicker than its counterpart South Dakota State. Geography is huge and KC is perfect for them, and a travel partner for Wichita State, while NDSU would look like UND of the BSC, and look how UND was frowned upon by media and fans of Sac State. UNI fans wouldn't care to much about Fargo but fans of schools in Indiana, and Kansas wouldn't like it.

BV is very much in discussion on how their mighty Bison would be getting passed over by the crappy Roos. Maybe there are other factors they look at like location.

UND beat FU 8-2 in game 1 today and now lead 4-2 in the 9th.

Until we are Wyoming quality (and a have a big stadium) the MWC will only be a reality on a PS3 or Xbox. UND needs to build up its fan base before FBS can seriously be talked about. We are out of transition hell and have 1 year of playoff eligibility under our belts, we did see an attendance increase but nowhere near the 2001 level which IMO is where we need to be. We need an average of 10,000+ every game for starters, plus start winning big games, get a conference title, a playoff win, and eventually a national title. One step at a time.

I think with our geography an FBS conference is gone with the WAC. The closest FBS conference (besides the Big 10) is the MWC. Sun Belt will look like the Great West basketball conference with schools everywhere in the country unless the Big Sky can revive the WAC from the dead. I just hope the Montana's don't bolt for the FBS before UND is even close to an FBS study.

Just looking at the NDSU schedule on gobison.com...they have a full 2014 schedule with @ Iowa, and vs Montana and vs South Dakota, now in 2015 you have @ Montana only. No FBS game set up no other OOC games, with the trouble GT is having in getting an 11th game this late in the game would GT contact Brian Faison about a home and home contract. (cheap game, first game in Fargo, and it doesn't have to be every year). UND has @ Wyoming the same day NDSU is playing @ Montana so the next two weeks are open. We heard the NDSU faithful say they need 6 home games, and its not good to be at UND because of money, blah, blah, blah. Well maybe having 6 road games in 2013 will change their tune.

If the FBS didn't have bowl games and had a playoff system would we see all these teams move up? I just don't see the prize for moving to the FBS level? Is it the 60 minutes in a meaningless bowl game? I heard the bowl games don't make money so why move up?

It is sweet but remember when UND had 10 games after ISU backed out in 2009...lets hope that circle doesn't hit us again.

Funny you posted that cause I was thinking the same thing. NDSU needs 6 home games its almost required. Most of the UND-NDSU argument is based on this, that's why they don't meet because NDSU doesn't make money playing at UND well guess what you won't get any money playing out east either. But like Dan said..."it's no big deal".

I agree with this even tweaking the attendance requirements. A lot of teams mostly in the MAC can't get 15,000 so I can't see the NCAA enforcing this in a 3 tier DI.

A healthy Huff could lead to a great 13-14 season!!!!

Only one problem with the Dakota's/Montana's move up plan....all of them except UND has a stadium in compliance with the 15k minimum requirement (which is a joke just look at Eastern Michigan). So maybe after the IPF, they can get some funds and do a study and see if its doable ($$$ wise) and if so maybe upgrade or build a new stadium. But by that time I am sure the FBS format won't look like it does today with everyone playing musical conferences.
