I do agree with this. The sound in the Alerus is horrible, especially with the PA, the guy they had last season was bad. Its amazing that UND will start their 16th season in the Alerus and yet can't figure out all the sound problems in the building. I can't wait until we are out of there and back to a remodeled Memorial Stadium (with heated seats and a retractable roof).

Maybe a song after the TD, and the band after the XP, could be a balance, and cut out the music in between plays, they start a song for about 20 secs then it stops, whats the point, except I do like Crazy Train for 3rd downs it gets the crowd into it.

He's not talking about the Mountain West picking UND, he is talking about UND going FBS under the Big Sky umbrella which we are a part of, also mentioned is the MVC (not football) not picking you, SDSU or USD because they don't care about the MVFC. MVC does not equal MVFC. Lets repeat that, MVC does NOT equal MVFC. MVC is a multi bid conference headed by UNI, and Wichita St. NDSU doesn't compete with those teams, yes they can kick butt (not this year) in the Slummit, but not the MVC. MVFC hasn't said a word about FBS and why? Maybe they don't want to go, but thats your problem not ours.

How about the band playing Stand Up and Cheer. Whats the point of the band if we are constantly playing music. We only hear the band before the game, and at halftime. During the game its drowned out with the music over the PA. I love the UND band and especially the song Stand Up and Cheer. I grew up listening to that at Memorial Stadium, Hyslop and Winter Sports Center, now you don't know they are there.

He has done a great job with these young kids and has blown the preseason projections out of the water but is this a one time thing? His records are almost around .500 every year. He hasn't had a 20 win season, came close with 19 in the 2010-11 season of the GWC. He has finished third in 2012-13, and tied for 2nd in 2013-14 with 12-8 conference records. Within conference play he coaches pretty well, outside of the conference he is horrible. Being a one bid league where RPI's and bubble teams don't mean anything, just win the tournament and you are dancing, should he get an extension or should UND start looking after next season when his contract is up. I was always on the Fire Jones squad, but the way this team is playing, and restoring hope for this program its made me take a second look at Jones. Big Sky record 38-36 Overall record (since joining the Big Sky) 56-68 OOC record (since joining the Big Sky) 18-32 (6-29 vs DI teams) Not including this season he has 3 winning records (overall) and it was all in the GWC, this year could be his first in the Big Sky being 3 games above .500, so its a tough choice especially if he gets UND into the dance.

I agree. If he gets UND to the dance extend it one year, or else start the search. He has no signature wins, a very horrible record against OOC teams on the road, and zero wins in any tournament including a loss to transition Omaha in the CIT. This team is playing great and I hope they can run the table in Reno.

Big sky already has conference games through 2019 so they could do some rearranging, however UND needs an OOC game (preferably at home) in 2017-2019.

So when does Dom Izzo and Kolpack start throwing NDSU's name for an FBS move up or possible entry into the Big Sky.

That would be Idaho's only hope of an FBS conference with close by rival teams. They had that (WAC) but then the Mountain West was born and Boise State said, "see ya".

But it seems like when they get kicked out of the SB its either the Big Sky or Independent hell. 2013 Independent Idaho schedule: 1-11 Home: Northern Illinois, Temple (only win all season), Fresno St, Texas St, Old Dominion avg 14,744 which is less than 13 FCS teams that year. So Independent is not the place for them, as they get no bowl money, no chance at a playoff, but they may get a 5-7 bowl bid in the whogivesacrap.com bowl.
