  1. From the UND debate handbook: Rule 1. Quickly change the subject to either hockey or farming the minute an NDSU graduate makes you feel inferior. Keep taking credit for NDSU's accomplishments on the football field if it makes you feel better in your circle of friends.
  2. Seems like it would be embarassing for a UND fan to have to correct people all the time and say "No we are the hockey school, our football team is awful, you're thinking of NDSU".
  3. Haven't you learned the rules of the internet yet? Personal attack=Not smart enough to come up with an insightful rebuttal.
  4. And people where I live constantly ask me what happened to my Bison in college hockey this year. Says more about the person and their level of knowledge than anything else.
  5. You should associate yourself with a higher caliber of people. These are the same people who think North and South Dakota are a territory called Dakota.
  6. And by your standards Alabama is not absolved. Can't have it both ways Duke, which is it?
  7. http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2013/04/tuscaloosa_county_grand_jury_i.html No need to wonder, they invented this handy thing called google.
  8. What's more interesting is his post was neither sympathetic nor indicting. Apparently, objectivity isn't seen as a virtue around here.
  9. As much as I don't want to agree, I think this is probably a pretty fair assessment of the situation. I will say though, the players who are accused in this latest incident weren't under Bohl's authority during the original incident. Maybe that can tell us something about how it was really treated behind the scenes for the players on the team. The players who were still with the team obviously had it demonstrated to them it was more serious than the ones who weren't with the team.
  10. What's the old saying about running out of ideas so turning to personal insults? Thanks for giving me credit for having a superior mind, I appreciate the complement.
  11. Wow, how much more can you sensationalize and generalize one incident? As I said, no player will either disown these guys or defend their actions. Fans are great, but "Once a Bison, Always a Bison" doesn't have one thing to do with a fan.
  12. At least in your own mind you do.
  13. And the only thing he should expect to hear is "no comment".
  14. 99.9% of Bisonvillers aren't Bison. They are Bison fans. Very different. You won't hear any former players either disowning these players for their contribution or defending them.
  15. You played for coach Bohl? You know what goes on behind the scenes? I'd love to learn more about how Coach Bohl handles things, you seem to know a lot about the inner workings of the NDSU football program.
  16. I don't have any problem with anything you are saying, this does and will continue to reflect poorly on NDSU. My only contention with a few posts here is when somebody said "Where were the coaches" and when you said "Why hasn't Gene commented yet"?
  17. If TJ Oshie got arrested for something this week. Would you expect Hakstol to comment?
  18. Once a Bison, always a loser? Hilarious.
  19. Lakes is Lakes. He is extreme and will say just about anything to spin things in a positive NDSU way. I am 100% on board with the Once a Bison, Always a Bison motto. But, players doing doing dumb things after they are out of the program is on them, not Coach Bohl or Gene Taylor. Love it or hate it, there is no denying that Coach Bohl is hired to win football games, not be a parent to these guys, especially after they are done with NDSU.
  20. It could have been handled differently(see better), but today's news shouldn't warrant any comment from anyone in the NDSU athletic department. These guys are former players who haven't been under the supervision of the football team for over a year in 3 of the cases and 6 months in the other.
  21. But that isn't the news of the day Darell. The news today is FORMER PLAYERS didn't show up for community service. No defense for that, but what does that have to do with NDSU winning football games? If I got in trouble today, almost a decade after my time at NDSU, would that reflect poorly on NDSU football? Or just on me? At some point people have to take responsibility for their own actions and that isn't on coach Bohl or anyone else at NDSU. Edit: And why on God's green earth would Gene Taylor comment on this?
  22. Anything for a national title? What do 4 players who are no longer with the program and weren't even on the team at the time of the initial incident have to do with NDSU's ability to win football games?
  23. I would never defend these guys not following through with their punishment. But you don't seriously expect the coaching staff or even NDSU to take responsibility for the actions of young men who are no longer on the team do you?
  24. I am sure everyone in that video is neither underage or involved in UND athletics in any way, shape or form. Looks like a hell of a fun time though.
  25. Take it easy. You must have missed the wink emoticon at the end of my post. Recruits choose schools for a variety of reasons, football isn't always even the biggest reason. Winning brings plenty of goodwill, but it isn't everything. A great example of this is something I've posted here before. UND won the 2001 national championship. 2002 recruiting classes in the state of ND, NDSU crushed UND for the top ND players. Mollberg looks to be a solid player, would have loved to see him in a Bison uniform.
