  1. Winning the most races since April 1st, 2016! Nobody even close... especially DU who couldn't even make the championship game. They had no reason to even make it to the frozen four with those talentless, quitters who couldn't even win the race.
  2. It was through nchc.tv, a pay subscription. BigSkyTV carries all UND games on they network for free.
  3. The numbers look like Nascar numbers. Not a big fan of those. I like the logo
  4. If he breaks any of the rules, NDSU won't hesitate to pull his credential. He'll know not to test the boundaries after they have restricted him so much.
  5. Glad to see you're happy just making the frozen four.
  6. National Championship appearances past decade: North Dakota: 1 Minnesota: 1 National Championship appearances since UND won in 2000: North Dakota: 3 Minnesota: 3 National Championships since UND won in 2000: North Dakota: 1 Minnesota: 2

    2016 Season

I appreciate a good Homer UND piece every now and then, but really? "Every player in coach Bubba Schweigert’s lockeroom has bought in to his strong run first smashmouth style of play..."
  8. I hate agreeing with DaveK but the Gophers have the talent to be very good. And a coach with two "Nattys" and a loss two years ago against a stacked union team. They're in a crap league but they're on the verge every year.
  9. Oh my... let me know when any FBS school says this: Jeremy Jorgenson, NDSU's director of sales and broadcasting. "We've grown so much that we need to protect our brand." Get over yourself ndsu. I would be passed if und gave this type of deal to Midco. Our best coverage, Brad and Tom would be passed just like Dom and Jeff are.
  10. It's some good money but I have to think KVLY is going to start live blogging the game as well otherwise it's stupid. They also would need to increase their online presence, especially on game-day before the game. Has anyone ever said "I can either watch the game or I can follow along with a live blogger. I think I'll follow a blog." You don't see many of these restrictive deals, especially not for smaller schools. NDSU needs to continue to flood the market with their brand. Limiting pre-game, in-game and post-game exposure doesn't seem like a good way to do that.
  11. NDSU must be getting paid a ton of money to restrict their exposure so much. I'm curious how big the contract is. Dumb move to block two of your biggest fanboys in the media.
  12. Anybody remember the atmosphere at the final five when there were only 8,000 people at a game? I honestly don't know outside of a Thursday night game. Does the fact UND has never won on Friday have any impact on people's perceptions of the target center?
  13. They'll be in touch with the NCHC over the next couple of years. It's not a secret the X won't have any conference tournaments and the NCHC/TC contract is done after 2018. The conference will let them know if they're accepting bids in which case the X would then apply.
  14. The B1G is going to campus sites similar to the WCHA. Not officially announced but it's happening.
  15. Good thing we have so many experts on siouxsports!
  16. But you're talking about two years. A decade, probably but two years? Definitely not.
  17. What happens when it moves to the X and attendance doesn't really increase and you're looking at a quarter empty lower-bowl and a half-empty upper bowl? Or people get upset (believe me, people will whine about everything) because it's not exactly like the Final Five?
  18. That's just not true. There are thousands of fans willing to still pay tickets for a team that has made the playoffs once since 2011.
  19. I was asked... if given the opportunity should the NCHC move to the X after the current contract is up. I had some positive reasons (gameplay conditions, familiarity with hockey of the staff) but also some reasons why staying at the TC would be more beneficial (easier access for fans, more to do around the arena). Thinking from a logical, business based perspective, why should the NCHC move to the X? And I do realize that keeping fans happy is part of a business based perspective. Would attendance increase enough just because it's at the X?
  20. Were there issues with the ice conditions last year? I didn't hear a single one.
  21. It was actually adjusted after the first year of the NCHC. However, Midco opted to not put games on FCS as they were trying to get people to switch from CableOne to Midco in Fargo. I'm not sure if they'll allow it now but I believe they like to keep their product on their own network these days. A bit disappointing and should be a reflection of the higher ups in Sioux Falls and not on any of the employees in the Grand Forks or Fargo offices.
  22. ASU won't start up hockey just to drop it in a couple years. It would be a new, consistent form of income for the NCHC. It doesn't take much for the conference to make money during the quarterfinals. Additionally, you have 60+ million more potential TV viewers on the PAC12 network. That's a lot of people in an untapped market that could come to associate good college hockey with the NCHC.
  23. No. There isn't a big benefit to just adding Mankato and BG. The NCHC wants the prestige of ASU (not the hockey team, the university). They don't want to be at 9, so they'll take one more team. There is no reason to go to 10 without ASU as part of the mix.
  24. The NCHC isn't going to add teams just to get to 10. If they're going to expand, it's going to be ASU and one more.
  25. They carry some, but only the ones in their viewing footprint, which is basically UNC and the Utah schools.
