Omaha was the original opponent for the game UND played in Winnipeg a year or two ago. When Omaha had to drop out due to an unforseen scheduling conflict, Clarkson was brought in and UND and Omaha decided to team up on another event

I told a friend yesterday that this doesn't feel like much of a rivalry series anymore. In recent years there hasn't been much to keep the flame burning like there has been with Minnesota and Denver (big matchups at the Final Five and/or NCAA regionals, hard fought series in the regular season). Maybe things will pick up again with the Sioux-Gopher rivalry going on hiatus.

I was kind of hoping he would end up at UND. He has played well for the Force. However, next year's recruiting class is a bit full with Murphy, Tambellini, and Johnson more than likey coming in, possibly others

It's a shame this game will not be shown on TV. Would be nice if the Omaha Sports Commission could at least find a way to air it live on webcast. I would be willing to pay a few dollars to watch. EDIT: Just saw in that it be on local TV in Omaha, but there are currently no plans to show it outside the area. Hopefully that will change.

That's the case for my friends and I. We renewed our Final Five tickets in November. I still really want to go to Omaha but just can't swing two big hockey trips (gas, ticket packages, hotel, food, etc.) Maybe next time. I'm crossing my fingers Dave St. Peter can line up an outdoor game at Target Field between UND and Minnesota. It's on his wish list.

What I have always found interesting is that at The Ralph, the red line is never painted on top of the logo at center ice, it's always underneath the logo. Personally, I prefer it that way, gives it a cleaner look. Compare to Islanders photo a few posts up...

I've been debating this trip for months and just haven't been able to pull the trigger. On one hand it would be a neat experience watching a Sioux game outdoors, but on the other hand, unpredictible weather, high travel cost/tickets, and bad sightlines have me leaning toward 'no.' It also doesn't help that my usual hockey buddies aren't going so I would be on my own.
