I hear ya...so I can borrow your boat to get to the 1st tee in a few weeks??? Diversion??? I'll be retired and cutting grass on some course in AZ before that gets done. Text me 701-261-3501 on roads. Would appreciate it.

Sooooooooo frickin' tired of this weather! At least I have the potential of historic flooding to look foward to. Why do I live here again...
-
Weather in the valley sounds like it is going to ugly later today. For those of us wanting to travel up I-29, a "hands on" road report throughout the day would be appreciated. I'm planning to head out around 4:30pm with my kids, but don't want to be stupid if it's a whiteout or glare ice...there is always tomorrow's game. Any info will be appreciated.
-
Probably correct there. Michigan and Notre Dame would be good draws in GB. DU and CC won't get anyone to follow them regardless so I could see the entire brackets flip flopped.
-
I'm with you. I'd say if UND and Michigan, or any other "west" school, are both #1 seeds at selection time, there is IMO zero chance UND goes to GB. The NC$$ is all about the Benjamins and Sioux fans will fill the Scottrade Arena better than any other team.
-
One of these games will be closer than it should be. Sioux sweep....6-1 Friday and 4-2 Saturday. Last homestand of the '10-'11 season...really looking forward to one last weekend at the Ralph!
-
If Michigan stays a #1 seed along with UND, UND will be in St. Louis IMO. You have 2 east schools in Yale and BC to cover eastern regionals. The selection committee isn't going to have the Scottrade Center sit 90% empty based on Moy's current West regional speculation. UND is their only hope to put a decent crowd/attendance in St. Louis.
-
You put Miele on UND's team this year and he doesn't do what Frattin has done so far this season. I can't imagine what Frattin would do playing in the CCHA. He is the best college power forward I've seen in some time.
-
Gregoire is a 1st teamer IMO, but who do you bump for him? Possibly J. Connelly? If Chay is a 1st teamer it's mostly on reputation vs. this year's play. I'd have him and Blood on 2nd team. And Gardiner has been very, very good this year IMO. Knight is a stretch. Think Roe is another one that gets a 3rd team nod solely based on reputation and past year's performances. Don't think for a second that voters vote solely on what a player did just this season. That's a huge part, but some will go on a player's "body of work". Frattin is the clear POTY and anyone less would be a travisty!
-
I like all the home teams to advance....everyone sweeps except UMD and CC. If I had to call an upset it would be the Clowns over the Dogs...but not going to happen.
-
"Aaron Rodgers, you just won the Super Bowl. Where are you going now?" ARog..."I'm going to Disney World!" And so is my family this AM. Will follow the games from you good folks on the game threads. Sioux Sweep...5-2 and 4-2. Frattin continues to be a man-child! BTW...my 2 daughters have pink t-shirts "FOREVER SIOUX" and they want their picture with them on with the big Disney castle in the background. Enough to make a father cry! GO SIOUX!
-
With Denver losing and UMD in a freefall and UND hopefully taking care of their own business, pack your bags for St. Louis. Michigan or Notre Dame IMO will wind up in Green Bay as the 1 seed.
-
Oh great...I hope Kelley handles it with as much zest, zeal and vigor as he did in defending the only frickin' nickname UND should ever have!! If this is true and the case, my betting line for his choice is a flower...say pansies!
-
+1 to you. I realize our ND schools are underfunded to an extent, but the higher ed system is still getting a healthy bump here. The fact that it isn't as much as they wanted doesn't by any stretch constitute a "cut". To use the word "cut(s)" is a total misrepresentation of the facts and is misleading to the general public when university leadership and others talk on this topic.
-
Please someone explain how any of this is a "cut"? IMO getting less $$$ than one thought they were going to get or hoped to get is not a cut. If my math is correct it's still a $22M increase in spending from '09-'11. Where can I sign up to get some of this "cut"?
-
My feeling is UND has a better than 50% chance of going to St. Louis as of right now. If WI gets into the tourney, I think that goes to 75%. Just a hunch, but the NC$$ is all about the almighty dollar and when push comes to shove, there isn't any other team that can or will attract fans to St. Louis to make attendance somewhat respectable other than UND.

Now you are just being silly! This is, unforunately, the culture we live in...those with low self-esteem need a hug, those who have been "wronged" need justice, those who are offended need... I could go on and on, but the bottom line is the Sioux nickname issue is a minority driven attempt to get "justice" and coupled with the hypocrisy of the NCAA, we've got the mess we have. Now, I can I get a hug, please... -

And that's the point...IMO right now, as of today, it's not one or the other. We won't be in the playoffs anytime soon and there are and will be still "name" opponents that will schedule us in the future. I don't see why so many are predicting immediate doom to the athletic dept. for letting the nickname issue continue to work thru the process it's currently in. -

And there lies the dilema that UND is in now with the legislative involvement. I'm for trying any avenue to keep the name AND stay off the NCAA "black" list. Can that be done?? We'll see... -

I hear this argument that "some" schools won't schedule UND, but to play devil's advocate, what percentage of overall games in every sport would that possibly represent? If UND now has a full-time conference affilation in almost every sport, the out of conference games that need to be scheduled are few and far between. In FB, we went to Idaho and got totally worked, but according to Mussman "we went toe to toe with them". In men's BB we went to Wisconsin and...got worked. Playing "big" name schools for a program such as UND really only gets UND one sure thing...a payday. Will UND pull off an upset of a "big time" school down the road? Probably, but they will be few and very very far between. Are there are plenty of "big time" programs that would and will schedule UND even with the Sioux name? I'd say yes. If playing Minny, Iowa or Wisconsin in FB or BB, is the "goal" here long term for our athletic dept....personally I'd rather have the Sioux crest on the jerseys. A beatdown by Idaho is the same beatdown as it would be vs. Fresno St., Iowa or USC. -

Who cares if a person is Jewish or Catholic for that matter. Or his/her political preference or gender or ethnicity or race. You always seem to want to inject some divisive bent to any post or "conversation" you have on this board, especially when it come to the Sioux nickname/logo. Why is that? Is it because maybe you're so narrow minded and fixed on your own ideology and mindset? And as far as the good a college degree does someone...it's "there" not "their". You might be better off dropping some of your stones. -

Good research here. Kelley is not what this great university of ours needs...an out of touch, leftist, ivory tower living, educational zealot. He DOESN'T get it...period. I've been hard on both Kelley and Faison, but Kelley is now becoming the obvious problem in this nickname scenerio. He has become a tool for the out-spoken faculty and the minority haters of the Sioux name. IMO, he as much of a backbone as Gumby. It's truly embarrassing as an alum to to watch and witness! -

Since you have nothing of substance or value to bring to this conversation or agrument, you can have Jeanotte and the rest of his/your ilk help you off your glass tower. -
