End of 2nd...3-2 UND. Mac takes a penalty with 1.5 sec left in period.
-
SCSU goal...3-2. UND has had way too many grade A chances in the 2nd so far not to have had a 4-1 or even 5-1 lead. Now it's a game again.

Congenital in 1% of population. I have no clue if he had it from birth or trauma caused it or if it was a combo of the two. My point is that it was wreckless to state, as jk did, that no matter if or when surgery was performed that it would have been season ending regardless. Based on the limited info on his situation, he could have possibly been able to play by now or earlier if surgery would have been performed right after the injury occured or got worse from trauma...not a given, but odds were in his favor. Now it is season ending as there is no point to race him back even if his recovery falls within the general norm of 1-2 months recovery time follwing surgery.
-
Just to clarifiy, the speculation, as posted by a few on this site, is his injury was traumatic in nature causing bipartite patella. IF this is the case, immediate surgery for this type of traumatic injury/problem generally results in a fairly quick return to normal activity...usually in the 1-2 month range. To say surgery was going to be season ending whenever it occurred and he wouldn't have been back by now if he would have had immediate surgery following the Goph's series in Minneapolis, is speculation as well...unless you are his Dr. Every injury situation is different, but I would question your bolded comment above as fact. And no I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Bottom line, it's disappointing he won't be playing the rest of the year.
-
If surgery was the immediate fix...it should of been done right away IMO. He more than likely would have been back by now. He has been resting/rehabing for 11-12 weeks now. Forbort done for the year wouldn't suprise me either...not tongue in cheek. I'm suprise the Rodwell situation didn't get strung out...must of had his arm dangling from the joint to get a call to end the season so quick.
-
How does Forbort go from "wanting to play" against Clarkson to warming up vs. Minny Friday night but not playing to out for sure this weekend by Wed.?
-
IF there is any meat to this, it wouldn't suprise me. I'm sure if true, UND's grand puppeteer, Kelly, was no doubt responsible. I'm guessing in Kelly's eyes the chanting of "Sioux Suck" by NDSU fans is now on par with celebrating a big win vs. an in-state rival and that both "acts" require an apology. This type of ignorant/arrogant rational is now driving the bus at UND...and has been for awhile IMO.

Caught 2nd and 4th quarters...3 fumbles lost (6 all reg. season) and 8 dropped balls. Not to mention the Hail Mary TD to end the 1st half. Worst game of the year at worst time of the year equals early off-season tee times. What we saw was just brutal. Least I, we, have the rest of the week to drown sorrows with funnel cake, Tower of Terror and hugs from Minnie Mouse!
-
This team's goal should be nothing more at this point than getting home ice and getting to St. Paul for the F5. ODonnell now out...possible another Rodwell scenerio? Blood might be lost for a game next weekend? Rocco still no where on the radar and Forbort day to day. Tough sledding to say the least.

Sounds like one of the best playoffs games in awhile and I didn't see any of it. Some debate in our family if we are going to find a big screen to watch Pack at Disney World...family vacations in Jan. Who's idea was this?? Donning the green and gold jerseys none-the -less. Think it'll be a classic like NO/SF game yesterday. Think Eli stays hot and last team with ball wins. GO PACK GO!!!
-
No offense but what's your point??? Those 4 games are called "conference" games and wasn't the goal of this FB program when UND transitioned to D1 was to get into a big time FCS FB conference which those 4 games represent. So wouldn't that make getting a better gate draw than the Mines game even more important financially to offset whatever your point is above???
-
Totally agree. Bringing in a decent FCS team vs. Mines would potentially bring in a bigger gate dollar-wise to help off-set as well. If the AD wants to increase season ticket sale, a better schedule is a huge part of the equation. As a season ticket holder, I don't go out of my way to clear the family schedule to get to games like Mines or USF. We all are busy especially with kid's schedules and as much as I want to support UND FB, coming up to see a 55-6 thumping of Mines is not time or dollars well spent. I will though carve out time to watch the Griz and Cats and would to see Sam Houston or another decent tiered FCS school. Walk-up sales would be better too IMO. Not to mention the potential playoff scenerio issues if we play Mines.

True and I get all that, but look at our attendencs that last 3-4 years. Very poor. Why? Poor teams like SDSoM come to the Al that no one wants to see. Plus lots of people, including myself, already write a check to the FSC. Fill the Al every game like SU does the Dome and the gate receipts would dramatically help off set getting better competition into GF. It's a chicken/egg scenerio, but to say "write the check" is a little myopic IMO.
