  1. Correct...those are the top 3 on the team.
  2. Not disagreeing with anything above, but there has been a lot of finger pointing as who is to blame...Hakstol, Hoeven, Berg, Conrad, Kelley and Fasion to name a few. The problem, I as an alum and many other alums I know have, is the fact Kelley and Fasion, particularly Kelley being the president of UND, never at any time came out publicly to acknowledge that the nickname has/had great importance to the university, has meant so much to so many and the loss of the name, right or wrong, will leave a void for those families, and I mean generations of families, that attended UND. Instead, they send Johnson out with his "scrubbing" coments to appease the PC crowd. I understand my affinity for the name isn't as important as doing what is best for UND and the athletic dept. and I'm in favor of moving on, but I feel Kelley in particular has never shown any empathy or concern for those, like myself and my kids, who have grown up as "Fighting Sioux". His general silence towards what losing this nickname means to so many is appalling. If you are going to "lead" an university, you have to first and foremost have a pulse on the "people" that make up that university and what their feelings are towards an issue affecting the university. Never once have I heard the president of UND address this fact. To me, he has missed the boat on that completely. BTW I will vote "no" in June.
  3. 7 PP by UMD in the 1st 23 minutes of the game and 2 of those were 5x3. Not short changing what BE did in basically 2 periods but Dell was razor sharp Friday and then got caught in a tornado with all the penalties on Sat. IMO if we have to win one game, I play Dell. And from here on out it is basically a one game season every game as UND really can't afford any more losses. Has BE deserved a shot...probably. Tough call for Hak, but come Friday night vs. Tech, I would prefer to see Dell.
  4. Kristo's play and Blood's play on Sat. would classisfy as stupid first and reckless second. Sometimes the play of the game dictates the "intent". Brown got laid out by Blood early in the game, then took a big slash at Ben. That wasn't good enough thouh so he sized him up with the game out of reach and little time left on the clock. That is what I would call malicious with intent to cause bodily harm to some extent. The Kristo hit happened right in front of my eyes...early in the game. Stupid on his part, but the punch to Marshall's head after the hit is what got him tossed IMO. To me, Kristo/ Blood and Brown's hits are apple to oranges when taken in context with the game in which they were played. Again, both Kristo and Blood's hits were unneccessary and uncalled for. Brown's was simply an act to get some revenge on Blood IMO.
  5. Dell was an All-American last season and has a better skill set and talent than BE. Problem is he hasn't played that way this year. When Dell is on, UND is almost unbeatable. BE can be very good, but seems to consistantly allow a softie...or 2. Tough call at this point as Dell hasn't asserted himself as the clear cut #1 guy with his inconsistant play at times.
  6. If you have a different take thru your brown stained glasses, please share. You can't explain Brown's hit any other way. There is a total difference between malicious (Brown's hit Friday) and stupid (Blood's hit Saturday).
  7. As to Brown's blatant cheap shot on Blood at the end of Friday's game (due to the fact Blood totally lit him up with a monster hit earlier in game), when one has a total disregard for another player's safety and uses the fact the game is basically over and he doesn't care if he gets tossed with 40+ seconds left, karma can be a _____! Brown left Sat. game with an injury, didn't return and might be out awhile...hmmmmmmmmmmmm, funny how things work out sometimes.
  8. I was thinking 7-1 'til we get to the X...have to sweep last 2 home series and win the the 1st round of WCHA at home...split at DU is a minimum. Penalties and goaltending the next 4 weeks will seal our NCAA fate IMO. Mac and Blood just have to be a little smarter here on out and avoid the box as much as possible. Dell has been really good, then not so much. Needs to be really good and stay that way from here on out. Think the top line is due for a late season push. Rowney is hot and Easy and Parks are playing well too. If we can get Mario's line to cash in that would be a bonus.
  9. You find the answer to this and how to resolve it and you would be suprised at how that answer would also be the solution to a lot of other over-reaching "groups" in this nation's society.
  10. Was at Wild game last night so was getting texts from buddy on score. Initially thought Dell laid an egg until I read about Blood's CFB, UMD's 2 5x3 PP and 7 UMD PPs in the 1st 23 min. of the game. When your captain (Mario), assistant captain (Mac) and former assistant captain (Blood) are the top 3 in penalties on the team, with a good number of them ill-advised, it makes it tough for a team short haneded on depth and pure talent to overcome. One thing about this team though is they have grit and heart. A sweep of Tech is needed.
  11. Well said. O'Keefe spelled it out...not a complicated read or argument to understand. Logic trumps emotions when comparing those two guy's opinions.
  12. Thanks for the info.
  13. First of all is the "k" silent in your SS.com handle? My 6 year old daughter is learning that now in kindergarten. Second, after reading your post, your accusations, assertions and finger pointing are at about the level of a 6 year old. Hak was the driving force to get legislation passed on the nickname? He has had a very strong opinion but that accusation is absurd. He has a long history at UND and an affinity for the name, but I can tell you only like freedom of speech when it fits your opinion. I would not say by Hak letting it be known about how he felt on the nickname issue was self-serving or short-sighted. And as far as character...seriously? You want Hak to lead the charge now because you think he was the front man to begin with...pathetic. Least Hak had the stones to voice an opinion early on as to how he felt about the nicename and potentially losing it unlike our pesident or AD at any point in this fiasco.
  14. 13th in Pairwise as of now when I looked. Bubblelicious!
  15. I have thought quietly to myself about this same point. I didn't want to bring it up as to get taken to the woodshed on this site. I guess I don't know how far reaching is the NCAA's continued strong arming will go if it goes to the citizens of ND for a vote and it gets 2/3rd approval and becomes reinstated, again, as a state law. I assume they would hold the course, but...
  16. +1 You hit that one out the park. Jeanotte, for one IMO, should of had his a** canned a long time ago.
  17. You were/are wise beyond your years, young fella!
  18. I remember those lines fondly!
  19. Sweat, beer stained Sioux hockey sweaters have nothing on the faded green and gold #4 in my closet, but my man-crush on ARog just grows every year!
  20. Except you and me! Yes and FB...have season tickets for both. To me, a fan is a fan even though this whole process is screwed up and UND IMO is completely getting railroaded by the NCAA. I want "closure".
  21. Need some help...my daughter and I went to a local fundraising event/silent auction and we bid on 2 Wild tickets for tomorrow's (Sat.) game and we got them. Problem is the tickets were "advertised" as 9th row. 9th row, but in the upper deck as not section was listed at the auction. If I wanted to sell my 2 tickets in front of the X and then buy better seats in the lower bowl, is there a decent "scalpers" market or those looking for or selling tickets? Thanks in advance.
  22. The vote, if tomorrow, IMO wouldn't be close. It would easily make 2/3rds approval. Why? The people of this state do not like their neighbors telling them what to do much less a small band of pompous, society "police" known as the NCAA. People want a voice...more importantly people want their voice to be heard! And this is becoming less and less in today's society. Who has been making all the noise??? How about the PC zealots, the Jeanotte's of UND and the "my feelings are hurt" minority of NA's in this state. IMO without their "noise" a few years back, UND wouldn't be in this situation. Not saying I agree, as I want this nickname mess over, but I can see how many, many people in this state have had it with the NCAA, the bleeding heart NA's and their minority of supporters and the PC crowd telling North Dakotans what to say, speak, think or do. It's going to a statewide vote. I'm going to vote "no" as I just want this over/resolved even though I feel strongly about the nickname and how it's been torn away from UND by all those JA's mentioned above. But all of you remember, we still live in a democratic society and this is not NY or CA. Again, if you were born and raised in ND or live in ND, you should have a pulse on it's people...they don't like to be told what to think, say or do. I hope I'm wrong and for the sake of UND this vote in June doesn't pass, but if I had to put money down, my guess it will and easily.
  23. As I stated in another thread, this whole ongoing nickname issue is turning into a total cluster ____ and is truly a microcosm of our society today and what is soooooooo wrong with this country in it's present state. This poll is on www.cnn.com and I get it isn't official but look at the numbers. This state of ND, right or wrong, will vote to keep the Sioux name in June IMO. Yet a completely rogue and unchecked "club" , the NCAA, has deemed itself jury, judge and executioner on this issue. You now have the Feds legislating/enforcing that churches are required to provide birth control to their employees even though it might be against the church's religious belief/standing. And I could go on with examples after another. It's truly mind numbing to continually watch the ignorant, arrogant, inept, ill-advised and uneducated dictating policy and standards in this country...especially in situations where the majority of citizens voice an opinion otherwise!!! End of rant...flame away.
  24. That's the polite way of saying it. If most people had to continually, and on a daily basis, had to deal with the "general public", most would be shocked at how inept, unaccounatable and delusional most people are. Frickin' unbelievable.
  25. Not disagreeing with much of anything in this thread. But does anyone else see how this whole ongoing nickname fiasco is just a total cluster **** and is really no more than a microcosm of what is wrong with our country in it's current state.
