I believe his last game played was vs. the Gophs in Minny...10 weeks from this coming weekend.

UND/NDSU football commentary: You can't retire stupid
Oxbow6 replied to Hayduke's topic in UND Nickname
Not arguing with you here, but if you have ever lived outside your "white bread" world, "black folks" drop that word on each other ALL the time. Having lived in MSP and Portland, OR with a few "black folk" friends, it's not uncommon. We "white folks" just can't use it. -
That's exactly how I see it as well. Mario, Knight and Forbort will give-it-a-go at less than 100%. Rocco has been bowling as much or more than he has been skating from reports. No way I see him playing this weekend...or next next weekend vs. SCSU...or... When one opts not to have surgery on a knee injury and after 10 weeks of rehab that has not got you back on the ice regularly skating, that is not positive for the rest of the season IMO.
-
Which is more than we have put out on the ice the last couple weekends. After this season's roster mess, I'll take any "body" that is will to come here with some talent.
-
Good luck with that one. You do know who are manning those positions!

If anyone doesn't agree with Sica's post, you better figure out what all this D1 push and ditch the nickname drama was for. And this has nothing to do with the hockey program no matter how some might try to spin it. UND FB is the the Big Sky. That's big boy FCS FB. Time for all involved with this FB program to figure that out.

On Live Chat last pm, either Jayson or Brad said he skated ONCE this past week. To me that is not a good sign. He has been in rehab for a knee injury for weeks now. Something isn't adding up here IMO.

Video found in Sam Houston St thread. The Gov. starts the "Here we go Bison" chant, which gets the "Sioux Suck" verbage flowing. And Gene Taylor...what a tool. His huge ego and constant self-rightousness is truly annoying.

Business/meetings...staying at Astor Crowne Plaza. Looks like that place is in the heart of the action!

Very pro-UND crowd and Mario back in line-up...5-2 Sioux. Dell can't play worse than he did last week.
-
UND needs a big win out of conference win tonight especially after CC and DU embarrassed the WCHA last night with their losses. UND dropped a couple spots in the Pairwise due to those losses. Grit out another shorthanded win tonight boys!

Actually making my first trip to New Orleans the last weekend of January. Looking forward to taking in the city and sites.

Have you seen your Saints play this year away from home and outside? Not pretty. No way Saints 2 win games on the road...with the last one going thru Lambeau. I actually think the GB/NYG game will be another classic in a week.

+1. Go Pack Go!

If it was an ACL tear, he would have/should have had surgery...period. Zero chance of that scenerio IMO. The training/medical/coaching staff would be totally negligent if that was the case. He has a pro career ahead of him and no pro team is going to invest in a kid with a torn ACL that hasn't been surgically repaired. To your major juniors comment, the way things have gone with this program lately it wouldn't shock me. I think on the limited info out there that he is not playing again this year.

Saw a piece on this story last nite on local Fox news. Tragic is an understatement. This kid's Dr. said she was concerned he hadn't made more progress since the accident. Kid's mother flat out said "we need a miracle". Doctors can only do what they can do, but as the bible states God is the great physician. A "miracle" can only happen through prayer...keep this kid in your prayers.

Very fitting on a night where it was the last official hockey game as the "Fighting Sioux", an extremely undermanned Sioux squad played with the determination, desire, grit and work ethic that has been seen on it's home ice for decades. Nothing says "old time Fighting Sioux hockey" than what was displayed last pm. That was a great win to end the "Fighting Sioux" era and ring in 2012. Both my girls have pink T-shirts that read "Forever Sioux" across the front. After visiting with my oldest daughter, 11, on our way home to Fargo after the game last night about losing the Sioux nickname and logo as of 12 am, she decided that wearing that T-shirt to bed last night was a great way to ring in 2012...BTW she is still sleeping! Go Sioux! Forever Sioux!

Miller, Cichy, St. Clair and Bruno. St. Clair was/is way over-hyped IMO having seen him play few times with Force.
-
Seriously??? Other than Parks and Rocco, they probably would have had spots in front of the rest of the freshman and Dickin. Kind of a mute point, but look at the names of our 4th line last pm? Put in Rocco, Mario and you still have Cichy playing for sure in place of those 3 guys. Bruno would have pushed Gaarder and MacMillan for sure for ice time.
-
Anyone think Hak would give up this month's salary to not have let Cichy and Bruno walk after last season based on the current situation. Those two leaving still is troubling IMO. Both would have been decent contributors this year IMO.

With the news of all these injuries, it makes pissing last night's "W" away all the more disturbing. Will be interesting to see how the 16 healthy bodies that are available react tonight. Maybe Dell can steal one? Or at least play better than last night.
-
Not disagreeing...he just didn't look 100% during warm-ups or on his shift prior to the "knee to knee". Again my point is look at where Rocco is. Knee injuries are difficult to play thru.
-
That's an understatement. Harvard is, plain and simple, not very good. Too lazy to look it up, but how many times has a Hak coached squad puked up a two goal lead at home over the last few years??? My guess is 3 to 4 times as many as they have come back from a 2 goal deficit. And this one was in the 3rd period against marginal talent. I know HU has 8 NHL draft picks, but I didn't see that talent last night. The key stat to me was early in the 2nd, HU had 3 shots on goal and 2 goals. Dell didn't need to have his best game for UND to win last night, he just didn't need to be next to brutal. Why the coaching/training/medical staff let Knight try and play was beyond me. You could tell he was favoring his knee from his 1st shift and was maybe at 50-60%. This better not be a Rocco situation where they try and let him give it shot and play thru it only to be sidelined for 8 weeks. UND needed their veterans to step up and they didn't. None of them played poorly, but our freshman carried the load last night. Mattson was amazing. Kristo was really close to being the hero late in the 3rd and in OT. Big game tonight...no way I see Knight playing. Mario was out last night, but will probably gut it out tonight. Kristo and Nelson need to come up big as does Dell, if he plays.

Only rumblings I've heard about water issues is due to the anuual spring flooding of the Red!
