  1. DU will create lots of scoring chances just because of their speed and skill but so will UND IMO. This will be fastbreak hockey. The series comes down to which team can bury their grade A chances...and to date UND hasn't done that.
  2. From Hak's recent and past comments he seems to really like Drake, Rocco and Colton together. My guess would be Parks goes back to Rowney's line with Gaarder.
  3. Exactly...and I'll go even further in that Natty would be nice at some point as well. This team played a great weekend of hockey, but was still 13 seconds from going home with a donut. Hockey is a simple game of putting the puck in the net and keeping it out of your own net...doesn't matter how a team played, carried the play or dominated if you continue to give up more than you score.
  4. I miss and wish he was here as he should be..Brock Nelson
  5. Was the HOF game that year. Was 1st game my now 12 yr old daughter went to w me. Fight pretty much started after the drop of the puck and she was hooked!!!
  6. Couldn't cash in for 59 minutes then get 2 in a buck 30 to win it. Crazy...
  7. So you are 36? 8th grade was the 6 toughest yrs of your life!
  8. This team scored 3 last night on a "hot goalie". I'm expecting a 6 pack tonight!
  9. This team really misses a true goal scorer like Brock Nelson.
  10. Since the 3-0 win at SCSU this team had IMO 5 consecutive poor performances prior to last night. They played much much better overall last night but turnovers, breakdowns continue to plague and cost them. Then throw in Clark's worst game of the year and you get a "L" in probably your best played overall game to date. Tonight's a big one especially with DU coming to town next weekend. Don't think you want to be on a 3 game skid heading into that series! Clark is the guy if this team is going to go anywhere in March. I would put him back in net tonight and let him try to redeem himself from last night's disappointing effort.
  11. At 6-5-2...one of two things is true. This squad is either 1) very overrated and overhyped or 2) extremely underacheiving? You pick. Like someone stated above, this continuing 1st half _____ (fill in the blank) play under Hak's tenure is "getting old". Schloss mentioned on the live chat last night that this is 8 years running with this type of 1st half play like it was some kind of badge of honor! This constant scenario will backfire at some point. This team stinks on Saturdays to date so tonight's game is far from a lock. Watched DU/WI last night...a split next weekend IMO is best case scenario. Then travel to Tech. So once again, Hak's squad will have backed itself into a corner by Christmas break as I see this team at 8-8-2 at that juncture. 13 games in and UND still has issues defensively and can't get anything consistently going offensively. Goaltendening has been good minus last night. Just another season of hopefully making a 2nd half run, getting a #2 or #3 seed and then hoping not to get shipped into someone's back yard for the NCAA..."getting old" was well said.
  12. As usual I'll be watching the Pairwise come March! One of these years a 2nd half surge won't happen. That's why they invented Viagra!!!
  13. 3 CC goals...off turnover, soft one and D zone breakdown. 'Nuf said!!!
  14. Agree...big ice so put Rocco up w Kristo and let em fly!
  15. We finally get our overall D to play UND hockey then the "hot goalie" is going to bite us in the a**!
  16. Rowney been a big disappointment to date. Having a really tough game tonight already.
  17. UND SOG 16-8 and draws 21-7 but another costly turnover puts em down 1-0 end 1. Plus "hot goalie"...
  18. Big ice...expect big games from Kriso and Rocco.
  19. If UND let's Rylan torch em like he did at the Ralph last yr., getting any points will not happen.
  20. ^^^^^^…here is the explanation and answer to this series UND generally struggles in Springs. More than 2 points is a bonus. Less than 2 points..."it's still early!" IMO Berry needs to show why he was hired in these next 3 weekends.
  21. My feeling is Schmaltz is going to be really good. He isn't physical...yet. Might not ever be? He seems to have good awareness. When you compare him vs our other Dman, he is pretty solid w the puck and make good decisions. He is a Fr. too...let's not forget that.
  22. UND really has had a tought schedule to date, but has thrown away a couple of wins as well. The next 3 weeks are going to be just as tough...at CC, DU, at MTU. 3-3 I would take in a heartbeat based on what I have seen from this team to date. That would put UND at 9-7-2 going into the Christmas break with what should be 2 wins vs. Holy Cross coming right after the break. 11-7-2 thru the 1st week in January and then 2nd half surge? Not the record I would have expected going into the CC series at home but it is on par for what we have seen during Hak's tenure.
  23. I'll take a shot at this based on years played at the college level, prodution coming into the season, their actual talent/skill set and hype. For veterans that I think carry the water very night...Kristo, Simpson, Easy Mac and Forbort, Pattyn. Those veterans who have played ok, but I know could play better...Mac, Mattson and Knight (he just doesn't seem himself especially when he played half of last season on one foot). Veterans that need a really jump start...ODonnell, Rodwell, Gleason, Rowney...the 1st 2 have big time talent, but... The last 2 here are head scratchers for me. Parks is a HUGE substraction from the lineup...our most physical forward IMO and a beast along the walls. He owns the puck down low. 1st year players show what they have got in streaks and all need to get more consistent but I like what I see in St. Clair, Cagguila, and Schmaltz. Rocco is the wildcard...supreme talent, but 2 of 5 goals are in garbage time...ENG and last night's goal. Has hit a ton of pipes. Most electric player at UND since Spirko IMO. I think he is just misfit...Drake and Colton are good but not on his level. On an opposite wing with Danny and it's lights out. IF he really gets it going I think that is when this team turns the corner...unless defensively we play this way all year which I hope is not the case.
